Hey guys, so I have almost AVA’ed Assassins and I plan to do the same for Ramah. I plan to paint them next and go from there. But, of course as one tinkers with an army they kind of look around and I I really like the look and feel of the Invincible Army. So then, that made me question how would we fair against them. I know it is a strange request or question without any specifics. But, for anyone who plays both factions or played against IA it would be great if you could help lend a few examples on how we could be them. :)
@sololobo Are you asking for advice on a RTF list that could handle potential threats form IA, or are you asking for an RTF list that has the look and feel of IA?
Hey Greg, it is, “advice on a RTF list that could handle potential threats form IA.” Being a inexperienced infinity player they look like they are a tough contender for really anybody. So, I’m curious how we can deal with them. :)
Target down boys! Load up the conex and release chock blocks we’re going home! I think I’ll just figure it out when the time comes to push some models around the table. :b
Both factions are pretty similiar playstyle-wise, win through force. I feel like IA has a scarier time going into RTF though. We have unhackable 1W+NWI, mobility, E/M weapons, the dreaded smoke combo, and a WIP 15 TO camo AHD.
Yup! "multi-wound" non-HI and really good specialists will ruin IA. Also this profile: Ramah Taskforce ────────────────────────────────────────────────── 1 NAHAB Hacker (Killer Hacking Device) Submachine Gun + E/Mitter, Nanopulser / Pistol, Viral CC Weapon, Knife. (0 | 30) 0 SWC | 30 Points Open in Infinity Army ... Is really fun against HI and TAG lists because it can handle the enemy hackers while being a huge threat to e/m vulnerable targets.
One problem with Hacking, Hackers or Hackables into IA is that they can have some VERY nasty Hacking defense, right up to a Core-linked Tinbot B-protected KHD with NWI or an AHD with 2W and BTS6 plus a Fairy Dust or Kaleidoscope active, and have several Repeater-equipped REMs in their DZ usually. If they haven't leaned into that angle the Nahab KHD or other active Hackers will be great, but it could run into trouble if they have.
Indeed. But they are going to pay for these, meaning they'll have less points for other tools. Also, a Haidao Support in a HI Fireteam is always a more fragile model. I'd suggest trying to take it out first. Not only would it remove the KHD from the team, but also take their +3 BS bonus, making the rest of the team easier to crack. Having a Touareg Hacker allows you to hack offensively - but doesn't force you to. Merely gives you such an option :)
IA actually has a rough time against RTF. We have a LOT of shock and shock type weaponry. I have faced IA twice. One list was the 3 shooting star list, and this list is very obvious due to the amount of models missing. I deployed everything inside buildings. Easy. Nahab with Red fury was able to put down most of his support units very easily, and killed the Yan Hao HRMC in CC (yan hao BTS is TERRIBLE for how big that boy is!) Zenchas have been hunted by Mukhtar Red Fury. The biggest factor to keep in mind, is to hid as much as possible from their brutal first turn blitz via shooting stars and/or core HI teams.
I mean...to the extent we take roofs off one room buildings and put people inside...thats terribly one dimensional otherwise...
Forgive me, effendi, but this sounds way like you were simply repeating some propaganda... perhaps you've wandered into a different part of Maya than you think? Not to say anything against Yu Jing - their teas can satisfy even the most refined of palates - but let's observe some proportion, shall we?
IA had the 3 Liu Xing. The drop troop that explodes when it lands. IA is a Heavy Infantry Sectorial, as such it can have a HI core link team.
Actually, Heavy Infantry Core Fireteams are available to most factions. Jannissaries are pretty nice as an example of a rather typical such team.
