Going to be looking to dip into TAK Love the Ratnik model, main inspiration for jumping into the faction. (8) 6 SWC | 300 Points Open in Infinity Army Thoughts on conception -Coming from ISS, i used the Kenran(minelayer) with sniffer and sensor to great effect to take control of the midfield. Hence my inclusion of the Strelok with k9. -Ratniks are there to break ARO's and bully the midfield with suppression and overwatch. -I love a Lt that can get work done, and having 3 Veteran troops makes me feel comfortable with taking such a risk and possibly spending a turn in LoL. -The Dynamo paramedic seems like an amazing 8-4 button pusher and source of smoke, though admittedly not all that reliable with 1dice. -I will look to break enemy ARO's with coordinating Vassily, Ratniks. -Once the path is cleared I'll be using my Harris as the spearhead to my push. -112 Doc is there to help Ratniks get back up. -The lone kazak is a bait/switch for those pesky Lt hunters. Thoughts, advice and past experiences welcome!
I always love it when people embrace the Ratnik. Two of them together is a lot of meat to dig through. Only ever used one Ratnik in my list before, as I find even in Limited Insertion, things like Assault Packs, Spets or Pavel take precedence over a second Ratnik. My concern is that your Haris doesn't have any specialists in it, so it looks like it'll require a lot of heavy lifting on the part of your Dynamo to fulfill objectives. Perhaps consider turning the HRL Ratnik and the Line Kazak into Pavel and a FO Strelok. It'll boost your camo shell game, give you some vicious close combat ability and increase your objective grabbing power.
You don't have a full link, right? In that case you don't need haris Frontowik. Just run Fronts + Vet as 3 men core.
In Li why run 1 ratnik when you can run 2? Especially when one of my frequent opponents has a phobia of them due to poor encounters with a heavy shotgun. This was a LI list I put together that had some success with our patriotic hefty chonks. I also tossed in a dog warrior in there for extra smoke and beef to make it a bit difficult for the unprepared opponent to chew through. Mostly make use of the molotok in the duo to deliver the shotgun to doors that need to be kicked in. Camo tokens are sneaking about doing objectives or picking off targets of opportunity. I wanna try it in an armory mission...
@holycannoli Thanks for the advice! I see heaps of similarities between our lists, that gives me great confidence! I'll certainly be heeding the advice and changing my link to a core. I'll try push the Ratnik hard, but it's going to feel pretty bad coming from ISS where i had a su-jian move 8-2 and now I have a Ratnik moving 4-2 hahahaha I like the Dog-Warrior, i was going to ask have you guys used him more a counter-attack piece? I've seen him used very often where he is used as a missile. Though I was thinking he'd be pretty nice to counter camos, and clear our threats that get too close.
The antipode assault pack is more of your missile, seeing as they're cheap, will likely maul 1 thing out of camo and then anything else is just gravy. The dog warrior can be more of your bully. Counter attack piece is a bit tough depending on who/what is attacking you. He'll struggle against things in heavier armor due to chain rifles. But set him against lightly armored things that can't dish out enough damage to bring him down quickly and he'll harvest a lot of kills. Why you've seen him described more as a bully, which fits his role perfectly. Sort of where the dual ratnik+dog warrior list comes in. 3 beefy bullies that can shred the little people faster then they can be brought down. Neither are champion of cross board hatred.
