Hi, I'm a very new player, I'd like to ask for a list review, please :)

    MISSION:
The mission will be played on 32"x24" table, with 6" deployment from the shorter edge. No links are permitted, Command Tokens are allowed, same for hacking. The limit is 10 orders of any type + LT order (Frenzy doesn't count).

The antennas are placed in the middle of the board and in the middle of each deployment line. One cannot deploy b2b with an antenna. You control antennas with units in b2b that are worth more points than enemy units b2b with it. Null units do not count, the control is checked at the end of the game, only specialists can control. Antennas do not provide partial cover and do not block LoF.

    Scoring:
5 pts for controlling the antenna on the enemy deployment line
3 pts for the middle one
1 pt for your own one
1 pt if the enemy doesn't control any antennas

My plan is to make a cheeky forward deployment of the Strelok and Chasseur and absolutely shit all over the place with AP mines. In the meantime, my XVisor T2 Rifle Mormaer and Loup Garou roam ahead in hunter-killer mode. Once Mormaer's lost, hopefully after scoring a few kills, the camo state Tankhunter takes over. Alternatively, the Mormaer is held back with the Loup Garou, for a quadruple Suppressive Fire (Command Token) on the approach to center piece. The Kazak FO chaff are there to watch the backfield and rush in in case they'd need to touch one of the antennas in late game.

Now, I've not played with Mines yet - when and how do I set them up? Does tossing a mine take off my Ambush Camo?

Also, if my Chasseur / Strelok set up mines (camo), they are camo themselves and they have a camo decoy each and I put them in Suppressive Fire, am I correct that I should indicate ALL of their camo tokens saying ONLY that "this (decoy), this (mine), this (Strelok/Chasseur) token is in Suppressive now"?

Because if so, that's cheeki breeki :3

    I'll try to cover the questions first;
    1) Placing a mine will reveal you, (it's classed as an Attack which reveals camo), but you can re-camo afterwards. The Minelayer skill, (on a different Chasseur profile), allows you to deploy a single mine as part of deployment.
    2) Putting anyone on suppressive fire is an Attack, so will reveal them, [see 1)]; re-camoing will lose suppressive fire, so you don't need to worry about combining these states. (PS: Mines can't go on suppressive fire - once placed, they're essentially independent to the model).
    3) The strelok's "decoy", (from ambush camo), will be permanently lost when he's revealed, and you can't get it back; it only works in deployment.

PS: Whilst they won't be camo'd whilst on suppressive fire, they'll still get Mimetism which stacks with suppressive fire for -6BS; and if they're in cover as well, then your opponent will likely be on -9BS, (before range mods).

First : from what I read of your mission, you don't need specialist, so go minelayer instead of FO for your chasseur

Second : lieutenant mormoer + CoC tankhunter : what do you want to do with it ? It's costly and I don't feel like it bring a lot to the table in term of firepower or resilience. I would take Vassily as a lieutenant, he is much more of a pain in the ass and ambush camo make him hard to hunt

Third : the viral rifle is great but without a fireteam, the loup-garou will have a hard time with it. Instead of him, take another chasseur (minelayer if you still have the SWC) : he will be in his rifle good range from the start and will be a pain in your opponent ass

Plus : if you plan to mine and camo in coordinated order (which is great), make sure to have 3 or even 4 unit with mines

This would be my take for a mission like this (without going full optimisation of the list) :

PS : yes this is 9 camo maker (and 4 kazak), all of them out of your deployment zone

PS : if you want 10 orders, you take 3 "9 points" line kazak and replace the last one by 2 chain rifle volunteers

I didn't transcribe the mission properly but control is done via total point value of Specialists who touch the console in b2b, so I need those guys. That's why I'm spamming FO Kazaks, too (and for added Targeting joy, as well).

The Mormaer LT is supposed to push aggressively, openly using the LT order, blocking an approach to the center console or kill something and/or die. Then the Tankhunter takes over control (Chain of Command) and sits back, I'm not in Loss of Lieutenant. Alternately, I wanted to be able to make a late Rambo push with the Mormaer without caring whether I lose him or not - and possibly opening an approach to the rear console.

Then I will stay with my original advice : remove the Mormaer and take Vassily (with marksman T2 if you want to use this strategy), you will get :
    - one more specialist (Vassily is lieutenant AND forward observer)
    - better weapon : marksman T2 vs rifle T2
    - better shooting platform : BS 13 VS camo BS 13

You won't be able to block the objectives with Vassily ARO but you have 2 chasseur to burn your opponent and 4 people with mine to build a minefiled in coordinated order. Don't advance Vassily to much and don't forget to recamo him at the end of the turn.

I will go like this :

You get 1 specialist less than your previous list but more infiltrated specialist, more camo marker and 2 more orders (and better ZD defense with the volunteers chain rifle)

If you really want an HI to push your opponent (which, I admit, is always a fun thing to do), don't waste points on a mormaer : go vet kazak. It cost only a few points more but you will gain mimetism, a flammer and veteral lvl 2 (so sixth sense level 2 and a second wound). Mormoar are here to be played in Caledonian army.

Whould go for full chamo Spam. And you should take the two allowed imp Irmandinhos, cause their extra order is a huge benefit and they are specialists too. But unfortunately I had to cut the Strelok.

I'd say the Mormaer has the benefit of being great on suppressive fire to cover as many of the objectives as possible; probably not the best for an aggressive piece at this points level though.
Similarly, the Loup-Garou is essentially a budget version of the Mormaer for suppressive fire, but Viral ammo seems to be even less liked than T2 so it'll depend on how well armoured you expect your opponents to be.

I would recommend lots of cheapish infiltrators; those that aren't specialists can be used as roadblocks, (e.g. Grunt inf infiltrators). Chasseurs are also great for covering objectives due to Sixth Sense combined with flamethrowers.
Camo specialists can also be good for the last-minute objective rush; hide them away in camo, let your aggressive pieces kill stuff, and then they can pounce on the final turn.

Just make sure you always get the full 10 orders :- I'd guess you'll need all of them!
