Geckos are now more expensive but have tactical awareness. Discuss. Personally I can absolutely see why they put a cost increase on Geckos (cheapest TAG, can take multiple etc) but not on more expensive ones. I think that Geckos were already much more easily usable than most TAGs and that's still the case, look forward to running a duo soon.
Yes, so nothing to discuss imo. The should buff the 2W and MOV4-4 TAGs as well as give them all more unconscious states.
Keep in mind they (as well as other TAGs) got Fatality L1 too (well, F L1 was "scenario rule" in the last ITS Season, but now it is oficially embedded into the game). I believe these are all attempts by CB to strenghten the TAGs to make them worthy of their points cost, especially ocmpared to other high-cost models. And in my opinion, this is a step into the right direction.
It's harder to fit in 4 geckos and meaningful support, while still getting 10 orders. But now it's 14 orders instead of 10, so... net gain, I guess? Anaconda and Iguana getting points increases is sad.
They are Operators and HI, so they don't benefit from Tactical Awereness imo. It is not listed in their profile as well.
Looks good for Geckos. Iguanas now lose both Fat1 and TacAw for 2 wounds, and it doesn't have specialist on its operator profile. Every time it feels like it gets the short straw of the TAG tweaks.
Can make some goofy limited insertion lists lol. Is it good? Maybe, I want to say yes. 4 points for another order is fair but would have liked something a bit more unfair to really make them shine lol
Atleast now if you make the mistake of taking that thing in show of force the operator can score TAG points.
Iggy Is probably the better discussion piece when it comes to Nomads TAGs as the Gecko was good to begin with. So the Iguana is still only really good at shooting soft targets (sub arm 4 before cover) as the standard HMG will bounce off of anything tankier, and we have better options for dealing with both of type of targets. It is still made out of wet tissue paper, any ARO that packs an Ammo type that forces multiple ARM saves or is burst 2 or higher will quickly render your TAG into an over costed and worse Brigada (If the operator survives). It's kit is often a trap, you want to use it as a mobile repeater but as it has a long range weapon it wants to hang back and provide supporting fire. and finally it is paying MBT costs for less staying power and damage output and in vanilla is out shone by the other TAGS. However; It is really good at moving up a flank to support other elements of the list by knocking out problem pieces quickly, when suppressive and in cover on a short fire lane it can be obscenely difficult to dislodge. It has it's own hacker protection (providing you have a KHD in the list). It is still somewhat cheap meaning it can fit into a list as a support piece as opposed to the thing you build around. Thanks to the 6-4 and now the extra order it can get back to safety reliably so as to harder for the opponent to remove. With Show of Force being the only TAG scoring mission having the operator now be able to score is a massive improvement as it takes a lot more than one bad ARO to nullify it as the main scoring piece.| I still think it needs a little more attention (TA carried over to the pilot, AP on the HMG and another point of STR or NWI or something), and I still don't think it is good. I do think that in CJC, QK and ForCo. it is at least worth considering now(not that the last two have a choice).
Already on it. I like my Duo to have 2 free orders. Jurisdictional Command of Corregidor ────────────────────────────────────────────────── 10 GECKO 2 Combi Rifles, Chain-colt, Panzerfaust / . Guess I'm the only one annoyed at the gecko price bump They were at a pretty balanced point before, getting the TacAware order would have made them solidly good As it stands they are still just fine I guess a duo with 4 orders is pretty cool
I am guessing something like that could work: Jurisdictional Command of Corregidor ────────────────────────────────────────────────── 9 1 GECKO 2 Combi Rifles, Chain-colt, Panzerfaust / . (0 | 57) GECKO PILOT 2 Assault Pistols, Knife. () GECKO Mk12, Chain-colt, Blitzen / . (0.5 | 58) GECKO PILOT 2 Assault Pistols, Knife. () INTRUDER (X-Visor) MULTI Sniper Rifle / Pistol, CCW. The Gecko is... ok. it was one of the better TAGs because of its price. Being more expensive makes it more points to loose to a lot of things in infinity - EM, Monofilament, Hacking..... That is the problem of TAGs, to be honest - they are too vulnerable for their cost. The 2 order Gecko now has a reason to exist - that being it being able to bring more orders. Problem is that he is still facing competition from the Taskmaster ( Much more versatile midfield piece ) and the Kriza ( Ridiculously better at winning FtF). Gecko is more resilient and now brings more orders, but it is also more expensive. It is... ok.
