I think explaining with examples goes a mile for beginners, so the example with Kozmo or Hannibal would help them immensely, they wouldn't have to soak up the knowledge but also frame them in an example to aid them remember. Switching out characters between the examples might also help, so they can refer to the examples like "Gata example" or "Dart example".
@treiral Thanks again. I agree that examples in real life are necessary. My goal here is to make sure that I do not teach errors to Newbies. Thanks for examining my post critically. Our "simple" game starts to get rather complex now that we have 24 characters each with 10 to 12 attributes including basic stats, general switches, specific actions (some with particular switches), automatic skills not to mention more than a dozen states that could be imposed.
