Glanced through the forum and didn't see anything on this yet. While browsing through the new book Saturday night I saw that the spec-ops optional gear is much more geared towards what faction it is now, rather than just the normal list, plus one or two faction weapons. I love it! New combos are great, especially ones that actually correspond to the faction. This involves weapons, skills and equipment. Which profile you're taking is locked to the base profile of the line troop of the sectorial. The only ones I remember specifically are for Haqq. Ramah can only have Ghulams, QK can only have Hafza and HB can only have Muyibs, so no more Ghulam Spec-Ops boosting the AVA for the Ghulam core. This will take away options throughout all factions, but I don't see it as a terrible thing, as it might be taking care of unintended additions due to how you were able to select the profile bases in the past. Also, Haqq Spec-Ops can take jammers!
Nothing special in JSA, and I'm actually a bit bothered the name was changed back from Kaizoku Spec-Ops to Keisotsu spec-ops after the uprising made a big fluff about the name change. Just give us a Kempeitai instead plz CB Special note that OSS now has a Deva and Onyx now has a Nexus as their specops, though the Nexus Spec-Ops' base profile has Celestial Guard statline instead of a Nexus statline for some reason...
Hmm, I dont see anything about that in Army yet. :-/ I was very disappointed to see that nothing changed in Army apart from the sectorial locked profiles. So I would very appreciate the change you mentioned.
That's cause the only people with the book atm are those that bought it at the Adepticon, the preorders were open until yesterday I think. And I hope it will be in stores before the 14th of this month, so I cab pick it up before going on vacation XD Not really per se, since only HB had the trouble of not being able to reach full Fireteam Core, and has instead Leyla, who is also able to link with them. Haqquislam had, perharps, the best and most varied type of Specops of all, with the Hafza, the Ghulam, etc... while for other sectorials it was a matter more of points or mechanics than anything else, aside from those who did not get a Specops until now. Now, it's kinda hard to place a specops depending on the sectorial, and the predicted Deva Specops gets crowned as the most awesome and expensive of them all (losing the option to save about 10 points by getting the Chandra is there, while Tunguska loses the option of a Moderator specialist, etc...). Also, almost all Specops were increased a point in price, since they now all have Specialist Operative (a meager consolation to those who will be used as doctors, engineers, and/or hackers). New Specops profiles for the sectorials without one, and some weapon limitations atm, I think.
I just to point out that the chart lists the “Unit Name” as Kaizoku Spec Ops, and the “Troop Profile” as Keisotsu (Infinity Spec Ops). The distinction seems a bit weird. For instance, for Tohaa the unit name is Hatail Spec-Ops. For generic Tohaa the profile is Kamael Light Infantry; for Spiral Corps the profile is Taagma Schemers. For basically everyone but Combined Army and NA2, there’s a single unit name for the faction’s spec ops that’s independent from the profile being used.
Which faction are you interested in their list? That's true. hadn't really thought about it that way.
Ohh, I didnt mean that you should post the stuff for me, but rather that CB updates Army. But since you asked...Haqqs options would interest me;)
I started typing out the lists, but then I realized that there are 20 entries in the Haq equipment list (compared to 12 in N2 Paradiso). The skills list goes from 24 skills that everyone gets in N2, to 18 skills that are specialized for the faction. Equipment options: Cube (if you don't have one already) 1pt Paramedic (Mejector) 2pts Hacker (Assault) 3pts Holoprojector L1 3pts Selected special skills (xp followed by skill) 2 Martial Arts L3 2 Hyperdynamics L1 2 MedEvac Plus (+3 mod) 2 Minelayer (3 antipersonnel) 3 CubEvac Plus (+3 mod) 3 I-Khol L1 3 Super-Jump 3 Free Agent 3 Doctor Plus (Medikit) 4 Forward Deployment L1 4 Engineer 4 Veteran L1 5 Ch:Mimetism 7 Total Immunity 8 Chain of Command 8 Regeneration 8 NWI 8 Sapper I think weapons is 22 elements long, I don't want to type that out. Cost of the viral weapons doesn't look changed. Breaker Rifle+Light Shotgun is 5pts.
Could you type one single element from the list? What's the cost of the Jammer and is it unique only in HB or only to Muyib spec ops?
One thing I've been meaning to ask; do all Spec-Ops have the option to take anti-materiel CCWs under the new system, and if not do MRRF/Metros in particular? Under the old rules they had no option in-faction, so a way to take down objectives that require CC without relying on the laughable French demolition skill with limited-ammo D-Charges would be golden.
Not quite what I asked. I'm interested in how it fits in to the standard 12 XP allowance. If it's 1 XP, you can get a pretty disgusting miniature, but if it's to the tune of 5+, it's much harder to combo it up and not as much of an auto-include. The fact that Haqq Holo1 is fairly cheap can make this a potential PITA Royale.
I would then say its reasonably priced. If you want to take it you have to surrender some other things. (assumption: prices same for same equipment)
The spec ops stuff is in the green book, correct? (My CB books are all in their plastic, except one of them that my girlfriend wanted to flip through)
