    Hi! :)

I already have a large collection of semi-unpainted Ariadna (as well as collections of Haqq, YJ and a smaller one of Nomads / Mercs and similar models), so far I've stayed away from the game itself, having burned myself a few years back with the complexity of the ruleset and its internal interactions. Ariadna are my most favourite faction due to the low-tech appearance and gear... and of course the werewolves :3

A few days ago I've managed to get a gamer at an FLGS to teach me the basics. She asked me to bring a 125pts 2.5 SWC list. I've only played 40k skirmishes like Kill Team / Necromunda / Shadow War so far. I've tinkered in Army a bit, read the starter booklet rules, printed out a slew of the special rules for my minis on the side as well as the list itself.

This is what I've come up with:

    Tartary Army Corps
    ──────────────────────────────────────────────────
    [IMG]7
    LINE KAZAK Rifle / Pistol, Knife. (0 | 9)
    LINE KAZAK Rifle / Pistol, Knife. (0 | 9)
LINE KAZAK Paramedic (MediKit) Rifle / Pistol, Knife. (0 | 11)
LINE KAZAK Lieutenant Rifle / Pistol, Knife. (0 | 9)
    FRONTOVIK T2 Rifle / Assault Pistol, Knife. (0 | 23)
STRELOK (Forward Observer) Boarding Shotgun / Pistol, Knife. (0 | 20)
RATNIK Heavy Rocket Launcher, Heavy Shotgun / Heavy Pistol, Trench-hammer, Knife. (2 | 44)
    2 SWC | 125 Points
    Open in Infinity Army

I wanted to make use of the Core fireteam link, but after all we didn't (but I got the complexities of it explained to me, so that's cool). I've also realized that I could've slapped a Spetsnaz (HMG one, for example) in there instead of (or beside) the Frontovik and that'd have been pretty OP. In general, it's been fun to play, I had a blast both using Strelok's Ambush Camouflage and his BS to murder cheerleaders and chase away her T2 Sniper/SMG Blackjack (those were USARF vs TAK "field maneuvers" ;) ) that previously got into a rangeband stalemate vs my Ratnik and lost a Wound dropping to the worse stats. Then I pushed hard with the Ratnik, attempting to sweep up her flank's troops and almost managed to. The game has convinced me to give N3 another shot and just print out the special rules. Having the printouts there as well as an experienced player to explain the complexities was really helpful.

I love the access to werewolves in Kazaks, though I'm worrying that going overboard on them (I can easily field 150 pts of fur and murder, lol) will have me die on approach a lot to the visor types (or murder everyone else, hah) despite the use of smoke. Are there any other ways of covering the approach of our furry murder friends?

It seems that we don't have models for Pavel or Carmen & Batard, do we know anything about release dates, renders, at all? My pokemonitis itch is getting worse whenever I skim their profiles in Army, so far I can proxy with Maverick + Strelok's hammer K-9, as well as Vasily for Pavel, but... yeah. Gimme :D

If you want to, i would recomend to swap the Ratnik with a Dog Warrior.

    Hi! Thanks :)

The Ratnik actually paid off vs USARF, rangelocked a Blackjack and when it went away to be productive somewhere else, it went on a Rambo rampage down an enemy flank. I'm not yet sure I can handle the furries, rules wise.

Any tips re: those questions above, please? :)

As far as i know there is no release Date for Carmen or Pavel. Not even a render of Pavel.

I use one Dog Warrior/ Devildog/ McMurder. I use them for first turn Rampage. Killing as much enemys as possible before dieing.
They do very good this way.
The Visor guys are not that much of a problem IMO. All their guns are weaker against Total immunity.

For Antipodes i don't have any advice. I had no oportunity to field mine until know.

    Any questions left?

I pretty regularly bring antipodes and they are always stellar. Even against visors, it’s one ARO to discover them. Since I usually throw them forward during my first turn, I’m in control of who gets the ARO and what they do afterward. I’ve had them murder skirmishers first turn, lock TAGs in CC, be a running distraction, and hunt ARO pieces pretty effectively.
Rather than be worried about too many dogs, just make sure you have answers for other stuff. Antipodes, strelok k9, and dog warriors can cover a lot of bases though.

Just be careful with the Antipodes, I've thrown mine in for some stabby stabby, but I physically can't get one of the friends into B2B for the sweet bonuses... and then he got shanked by a lowly alguacile. The large bases can be a hindrance at times, they don't play well in tight spaces. Don't forget about sensor either, it can be amazing on a super jumping guy to get to spots to reveal annoying ARO pieces.

As for Dog Warriors and their kin, be mindful of the impetuous order making them do stupid, suicidal things. I like to deploy mine last, and rough out a plan for them so they don't get wiped out before doing anything overly annoying for my opponent.

In terms of going overboard on murder, it really depends. If you are playing ITS (or ITS style, like Recon/Recon+) missions, you need to be mindful of sending your opponent into retreat, and having enough specialists to cover the majority of classifieds you might wind up with.

Personally, I reach for things like a Frontovik + Vet Kaz + 112 link and some Streloks first - stuff that can cover most bases for a given mission and fill out from there, rather than maxing out on murder and jamming the rest in. (I mention Frontoviks specifically, coz most profiles are specialists and have T2 weapons. They score, they kill, they are soft, but, welcome to Ariadna.)
