I'm looking for conversion inspiration. I hate that CB uses medikits to denote Doctor models. One, because I think medicine guns are a dumb idea. Two, because the medikit is the hallmark of a Paramedic - what denotes a Doctor is their non-medikit healing.

So I'm trying to find some other way to make a doctor look like a doctor. Ideally, some other piece of equipment rather than just paining a red cross on their back. Anyone have any ideas?

Well, IRL medkits / medical backpacks are... pretty sizeable pieces of gear.

I tend to give my doctors with pouches - here's my Asawira Doc (yes, he has a standard CB medkit pistol too):

although the Djan Doc got a medical case:

That being said, giving the Doc a ligh (I use light grey rather than white) armband / shoulderpad / something with symbol allowsfor a faster identification on table.
I choose the Red Crystal, because it:
    1. has no religious connotations whatsoever (it was years before CB started casting Haqq Doctors with a crescent symbol, apparently suggesting the Sword of Allah medical services use Red Crescent), and
    2. is an internationally recognized (if little known...) symbol equal to the Red Cross & Red Crescent (as well as Red Shield of David, and now effectively defunct Red Lion and Sun...).

Mediguns have been used for Doctors since before the Medikit had a ranged profile, they were originally Star Trek style "airhypos" and did actually denote a Doctor (there were no Paramedic specific sculpts until N3) N1/2 sculpts like the old Trauma Doc and Machaon have them. It was only more recently they were retconned into being ranged Medikits.

That said, the old Kazak Doktor had a little trauma kit you could glue to his base.

I am okay with the Medikit, but I do not like the way CB present them like a normal pistol. It just looks silly, when they aim with a medkit in a double handed shooting pose (or pointing it with a yoga move to the ground).

Thanks all, this is definitely helping me think it through. Maybe a scifi version of this: Jet injector - Wikipedia so it would work with an existing pistol pose (just not a two-handed one, @archon !). Could replace the medikit on the existing Ghulam Doctor model, or maybe the knife on the Ghulam @KedzioR_vo used above.

Anyone know a good source for a part of .stl that looks like a sort of scifi medical injector?

Most doctor models have extra "stuff" besides just the medikit. Also yes the Medikit did not originally have a ranged profile and did this wierd scanner/3d printer thing.
