I took the red fury as a more defensive option, more burst means more survivablity when charging wildly at things, next game with spiral I'm intending on taking a Mk12. Well I'm off to a satellite next weekend but I don't have the tohaa knowledge or experience playing spiral to to be taking them yet (I also don't own a Kaeltar), but If I was it'd certainly be in a list once again backing some Draal.
Stabby McStabbinsons.. Stabariffic. That what I thought he'd be like. Runnin' round with 2 Class -A- Machetes. Love the model... My brother said "What's he do?" I told him he's a Melee Borac. I'm really starting too look at that Option... CoC is awesome but man... It's the Surprise ZoC "Judoknowwhatimgonnado" but... On this guy in a Rambo Op... Maaaaybe a Mate
Red Fury Looks good Shock/ Close Range band. Let me know how the Mk12 plays out. What Satellite? The Catch phrase helps... Lil' Story nice
Keep in mind an unconscious Kiel-Saan with Regeneration is Phys 15 for the roll, so their is a great chance of picking it back up again. Reinforced Biotech is pretty fantastic. The Kiel-Saan gets boosted to BTS 12, which means it is nearly invulnerable to Jammers, (they need to roll a crit, or need you to roll a 1 for it to work), and with Fairy Dust up they have an effective BTS 15 against all Hacking, making it nearly invulnerable to Hacking (again, they need to roll a crit, or need you to roll a 1 for it to work unless they are using Icebreaker or Spotlight). While it may not come into play depending on the army you are facing off against, being able to pretty much ignore these types of attacks is incredibly useful for a unit with a WIP of 12. This also gives it a better defense against E/M weaponry which halves its BTS.
Dude I was just thinking Viral n stuff... Omg.. They could become Hacker hunters too... Sweeeeeet! Thank man... Lookin like MetaChemisrty is Win Win for this guy...
If you're feeling lucky you can also try a PH14 roll to top up your active Symbiont Armour if you've only taken a single wound.
You can!!! I just read it again... I missed read it the first time and thought it was only when you went to an Null State That's insane cause I'd risk it to keep him in Symbiont state... Wow
Yup, there's no Unconscious restriction on Regeneration. You only get the +3 PH from Symbiont Armor when unconscious though.
another non competitive profile that no one will play except for the mini, neema is better smaller cheaper and in fireteam same feeling as the daiyokai, just why ?
This so much. If he could triad there would be actual competition with Neema but as it is this guy is never going to see the table.
The Kiel-Saan is a Daiyokai done juuuust about right. Unlike a Daiyokai, it's actually genuinely dangerous in close combat (being a bit of a whiffle bat in CC is the Daiyokai's greatest tragedy) and the weaponry its packing is pretty effective on top of that. I'd reach for a Kiel-Saan triad over Neema in a Tricore if I had SWC restrictions (Neema with a spitfire is a minimum 2.5 SWC in that configuration whereas the Kiel-Saan triad can comfortably put out a lot of high-damage, good-range attacks at 0 SWC cost) or if I expected to need to solve for heavier enemies than you can comfortably deal with using a spitfire.
It's interesting to me to read this, because I see Neema as kind of a bit of a limp inclusion for her points compared to the Draal marksman, but I'm happy putting the extra investment in to get a genuinely different capability out of the Kiel-Saan traid because it meaningfully differentiates itself, albeit at not insignificant cost.
(For reference, I have used all of these profiles at least once in Spiral Corps so far. Not a huge sample size, but I was pleasantly surprised with the Kiel-Saan and my initial testing at least suggests that people are writing them off too early.)
This is more a "por que no los dos" situation. Neema is a bit more resilient than the Draal in a more drawn out game because of how Stratuscloud works, has a bit more damage, and also gives a WIP15 Lt roll with Advanced Command which is very solid.
That's a good point; I think the main reason I consider them mutually exclusive is that I only get to pick two models to benefit from Tricore at the start of the game and I usually want one of them to be a Kriigel smoke LGL. But that's a personal preference, there's no reason why you couldn't source your smoke from a small secondary combat pool, or even just cycle Neema in after the initial turns or let the Draal go on an adventure of the field somewhere while the rest of the triad pulls back and re-links. Edit: yeah, the more I think of it the more I like the potential of a strike team triad consisting of a Draal, Neema and a Tricore, covered by support from a secondary pool. Being able to cycle the symbioarmour models out and retain your strength through the game is pretty interesting.
Waiting on models... But I'm digging Kiel-Saan more as a Rambo piece. If you roll MOV/Super Jump boost it'll make Triad kinda wasted on him You'll get no argument out of me that the Draal, Neema and Taagma with Tricore is dope. But I still like the idea of a Hard to kill Kiel-Saan with maybe a Mate hunting weaker units down sounds like fun. I'm looking at Taagma as a Lieutenant less and less... I like the idea of both 96 pts n 2.5- 3 SWC is stiff price.. Maybe the advanced command w Breaker is the Answer... Still gonna run the Kiel-Saan (I will only have the box and the one Sukuel I bought) so I kinda have too
Probably worth pointing out that the kiel San and the kaeltar with coc are the only units in spiral that can accomplish capture kidnapping and net undermine. Probably makes it mandatory in highly classified.
Characters are Veterans in ITSX, so Aelis and Neema (and Armand too, I guess) can accomplish these objectives as well. One more point for Neema over Kiel-San.
That's good to know. Thanks guys I'll keep that in mind. So many Niche things are what make this game great
