    Can the model thats been allocated xenotech be used to stop mines/template weapons? I'm pretty sure the answer RAW is yes but is that what it's intended to do?

    Yep.

    If you are creative you can even use him as a shield against some CC (in narrow space) or to prolong the path enemy has to take to get into B2B with out (it's harder to perform "corner trick").

    You've been able to do this with your HVT for a long time as well.

    It just took a couple of orders to move up and grab them first, but it did the same thing.

    This is functionally different though to civvies in the rescue or syncing your own HVT.

    You start with a unit in Gsycn, it's not a HVT so there isn't a risk to move your HVT closer to the opponent, it favours turn 1 in that it potentially makes rambo pieces more resilient to mines/DTW guards.

    I don't mind the objective but think it has other game play implications that aren't exactly needed/positive.
