    Hello,

I have a friend who is interested in Military Orders, and I wanted to get her some models as a gift. I want to get her 300 points worth of MO for a general list that is slightly more focused on killing (to compliment her aggressive playstyle), but still capable of fulfilling objectives. Additionally, I want to have as few models in the purchase left over if I can (i.e. if I get the Knights Hospitallier box, then I want to be using at least three in a list), and I would prefer to avoid proxying as much as possible because she is still relatively new to Infinity. I also would like to have this list made up of newer models, and although this is not absolutely necessary, it is preferred, and finally, I would like to keep the purchase under $150 US, although cost is of least concern to me.

Our game group is very Ariadna-heavy, although Tohaa and Onyx are also present, and I have already ordered OP: Red Veil and will likely be starting ISS and Hassasins sometime in the near future. Additionally, our tables are very dense, but I am looking into cutting down the amount of terrain on the table so they will be less cluttered in the future and long-range weapons will be more important. We use 20x20 for our missions.

What would you guys suggest getting for her? Is there anything that is not clear about my requirements, because I am more than happy to clarify.

    Thanks!

Hospitaller box, then either the old MO starter and old Magisters box if you like the look of those models (which I do) or you get the new Order Sergeant box, and a new Magister box is anticipated soon.

That will form a fighting Core for your list. As @eciu will say, Hospitaller and Magisters are the popular and competitive basis for an MO list. That link can accommodate a variety of rangebands, and is ideally aggressive with good capacity for button pushing/objectives. The HMG and Doc Hospitallers are standard, with three Magisters for support and close range combat.

The Order Sergeants can support as Specialist Sergeants. The TO Forward Observer and Sniper are also popular choices.

From here, a few Fusiliers or REMs provide cheap Orders, useful support roles like Lieutenant and Hacker, and help to bulk up the list.

    Happy hunting to your friend.

    I will quote myself:

    https://forum.corvusbelli.com/threa...e-me-300pts-box-wip-10-02-18.1098/#post-13692

Personally I would think that option:

    You will need to buy:

    1. Joan d’Arc 15,75

    2. Hospitaller Box 44

    3. Order Sergeant box 24,95

    4. Black Friar 10,25

    5. Techbee 16,95

    6. Warcor 11,95
    Total: ~124 euro

Will bring you most fun/power/MO-Feel for the lowest amount of bucks (up to personal taste), as your OS/wife/friend should be able to field Link of Doom (just remember that in infinity nothing is invincible, and few bad decisions might quickly result in dead 220 pts). As Barakiel mentioned Hospitaller Knight link with Magister knights is very popular safe/efficient option to bring hard hitting team of knights and still have around 150 pts to field support/ plan B for them ;)

Box of Order Sergeants is golden as those guys (especially TOFOOS and TO MSR) are true heroes of MO.

    On a side note:
Mind also that new Magister box is coming so you might want to wait buying those.

Well Onyx is quite managable for MO (although high saturation of plasma/hacking/EM is not nice), Ariadna might be quite a problem as MO doesn't have good tools against camo spam and single Tankhunter with ML might be a problem (or Assault Pack if given opportunity to get into CC with knights). One of better strategies is to bring lot of TO against Ariadna and try to fight this way.
ISS is also much more "preferable" opponent for MO, as it is much more "standard" and what MO can do is efficiently murder other people.

Sorry for messy post, I'm in the middle of luggage packing, if you need more help write here so me or other people can help you ;)

Hey guys, thanks for your replies, they were really helpful!

I went ahead and put together a list of what I might get and how it might come together in a game. I have no idea how viable it would be, but luckily we are more casual players, so I don't need it to be 100% "perfect" or competitive, just playable. It uses the MO starter, Magister box, Hospitaller box, and the Peacemaker box. Is there anything that you would change (keeping in mind the criteria that I listed above)? I have not tried to make a MO list before, so I have no clue what I'm doing.

    [IMG] Military Orders
    ──────────────────────────────────────────────────

[IMG] KNIGHT HOSPITALLER Doctor (MediKit) MULTI Rifle / Pistol, AP CCW. (0 | 41)
[IMG] MAGISTER KNIGHT Panzerfaust, Light Shotgun / Pistol, DA CCW. (0 | 23)
[IMG] MAGISTER KNIGHT Panzerfaust, Light Shotgun / Pistol, DA CCW. (0 | 23)
[IMG] MAGISTER KNIGHT Panzerfaust, Light Shotgun / Pistol, DA CCW. (0 | 23)
[IMG] TEUTONIC KNIGHT Lieutenant Combi Rifle, Panzerfaust / Pistol, AP CCW. (1 | 34)
[IMG] SPEC. SERGEANT Hacker (Hacking Device) Combi Rifle / Pistol, Knife. (0.5 | 21)
[IMG] SPEC. SERGEANT (CH: TO Camouflage, Infiltration, Forward Observer) Combi Rifle, Antipersonnel Mines / Pistol, Knife. (0 | 27)
[IMG] SPEC. SERGEANT (CH: TO Camouflage, Infiltration) MULTI Sniper Rifle / Pistol, Knife. (1.5 | 33)
    [IMG] PEACEMAKER Spitfire + AUXBOT_3 / Electric Pulse. (1 | 27)
    [IMG] [IMG] AUXBOT_3 Heavy Flamethrower / Electric Pulse. (- | 4)
    6 SWC | 293 Points
    Open in Infinity Army

I figured that the Hospitaller/Magister link would do most of the heavy lifting, and thought that an HMG and 3 Panzerfausts was more than enough long range power for the link, while the doctor uses his MULTI rifle to handle closer targets and pushes buttons. The Peacemaker is for Plan B is the link gets pinned down or is out of position, and can get buffed by the Spec. Sergeant hacker through its own repeater (unless I am mistaken). Additionally, I have a Spec. Sergeant MULTI sniper for defense, and a TOFOOS for button pushing and griefing enemy troops. Finally, the Teutonic Knight is there pretty much because he was the only available Lieutenant option, and he comes in the starter box. I suspect that this is not ideal, but its the best that I could come up with, given my requirements. Any suggestions for improvement are appreciated!

If you are going to be up against a lot of Ariadna then get a pair of Pathfinders and a Black Friar as early purchases.

You won't regret having plentiful Sensor and some MSV when you're up against swarms of Atech Camo.

Looks really ok to me, there is a room to improve but list should work quite fine ;)
    Have fun with it ;)
