theres a lot of new options in fire teams that give StarCo it's own identity again compared to where they were earlier in the edition as slightly worse CJC. But now it offers relevant and different options. also brigada hacker with tinbot + triphammer + annaconda haris seems VERY amusing to me, probably not good but definitely hilarious. Along with wildcard Brawlers and wildcard Knauf.
Pretty expensive for just the Discover Bonus... I'd rather use Knauf either in a dirty Core or together with some CSUs. Worth considering is replacing the 12-point CSU with a Digger; it's 2 extra points, but the Digger is a better DZ guard and will be able to push a bit harder if you need to try and drag the CSU to an objective after Knauf dies.
Knauf isn't a very good defensive piece but really shines as an active turn hunter. Putting him with Emily and Uhahu should make them able to push into the mid field really well and either score objectives or fire some pitchers to get the hacking network up.
Using Knauf as a wildcard might be better mileage overall. All you get from the Outrage link is +3 discover, which was not helpful against Steel, but Knauf doing a Discover+Shoot with +3 WIP and B4 is pretty monstrous.
Emily continues to get nerfed. Losing the BS +3 in a full link means her spec fires are hitting on 8s now... which is exactly what a fully linked AG with nade launcher needs. Oh well, never could land the dang things anyway...
Knauf Haris, huh? I have to say this looks very tempting. Uhahu looks like fantastic value for 18 points: - WIP 14 Hacking device plus - Pitcher - NWI - D-Charges and Assault Pistol B4 Knauf with +3 to discover is just scary. Emily is a bit pricey but she brings a nice set of tools regardless: - GLs are a bit shit nowadays, but with X-Visor she can outrange things more easily - WIP 14 specialist and FO - Also Assault Pistol
Part of me would learn towards the Breaker Emily, still a specialist, covers the +0 band of the MSR with a mimetic breaker rifle that's less likely to bounce off targets than the normal combi (especially Ariadna/bears) and a decent amount cheaper.
The Dirty Core with Knauf is going to be my #1 StarCo choice for the season I think (a Grrls aggro link being the second list for most tourneys, because DeathStars are hard to resist). That TripHammer Haris with MB Hacker and Irmandinho is going to be EPIC FUN. Having the demo/repair guy in the link and a way to move a good, hard hacker forwards while blowing stuff up is so much potential in one Haris. Plus 2x potentially very powerful Booty rolls… yeah. A triphammer, irmandhino, mb haris isn't legal. The anaconda is required to form that fireteam. I'm really liking the core of knauf, Emily, uhahu, alguacile paramedic, and alguacile. I tried a game earlier using a daktari instead of the paramedic and knauf went down and my daktari went to try and pick him up and failed and I realized that knauf doesn't have a cube and I couldn't reroll the doctor save. I'd have been better off just using the medikit with burst 2. So I think I'm gonna stick with the paramedic and if I really am worried about it I can always put avicenna in the list.
Damnit. Well that team could also be fun, though less optimal (repairing an Anaconda would be dumb). Not a bad way to get the specialists forwards, if you know the Anaconda’s probably dead meat. Triphammer, Anaconda, MB hacker could maybe be fun once just for lulz. The Irmandinho does a decent job of getting forwards on his own anyways. Shame to lose B2 smoke though. Back on Outrage units though… linked Knauf is the unit I am most stoked to try out, of all the new fireteam changes across the entire game.
Yeah I tried the anaconda irmandhino and mb hacker haris and I think its a trap. Anaconda's are hard to repair and I just don't know if I got my points worth might have to try it again. Bringing the dino for 8 points is nice to keep costs down and get some smoke on the table. I feel like my go to is going to be a outrage haris and alguacile/brawler defensive link.
Played a couple games with the Knauf haris and I prefer Knauf, CSU and a Digger. Uhahu goes well in a riot 3 core, but could go into the knauf haris too. Digger and CSU help protect Knauf in reactive while still giving you a specialist to push buttons with. I was down in Starco in the old rules, to the point I didn’t even run links, now I’ll be running no more than 3 person links as I’m not interested in any of the core options.
I tried that duo in the old rules and it’s not worth it either for the points you pay. Don’t see it being much better now, even with the +1b
