Richard Quinto explodes if you hit him from the back

Heres a list I like that I think genuinely benefits from having Quinn included. Having the ability to include him in the fus link and have the Kamau HMG run around the board is decent coverage. depending on mission/match-up they can also switch roles. lots of guns too.

Maybe stop claiming to know what I'm getting at then.
I'm explicitly against just adding some OP thing that should not exist.
All I want is interesting Profile, that's it. Anything listed is merely an example, there's nothing specific to demand here. This is a complaint the Profile is uninspired and just adds bloat. Wasted potential instead of a meaningful choice.

Shame on me for thinking Specialist + Gun + Visor is not in the slightest interesting for PanO, eh?
It's about the same complaint the Nomads have about their Dire Foe. It's doesn't add anything new for them. More or less a better optimized alternative to the Grenzer Sensor (a Profile that was interesting already) instead of giving them something new to patch one of the million holes in listbuilding for TJC.

    Hahaha Was not disappointed.
Look, heres the thing about this guy. CB managed to solve VIRDs problem at top competitive play by giving them a tool that can readily dispatch stealth warbands that have made it under the Kamaus ARO and are far to dangerous to risk your highly fragile, expensive pieces on attacking.

    Yeah terrible unit "Rolls eyes"

I still mostly play ariadna, so I'm going to tell everyone he's fucking garbage so hopefully no one takes him.

I mean for like 23 points, he's not going to give you oral pleasure, but fuck he comes close. He's linkable but can also play well solo, a liaison option, he's got BS13, doesn't have a mod stack, but he has a SMR so that's like a mod stack b/c the things he kills like rifle skirmishers can't shoot for shit outside of 16 inches anyway.

So yeah I agree he's garbage - don't take him.

I'll be getting my hands on Quinn in a couple of games this week. Will try it both as part of the defensive core that moves into the fray in turn 2/3 to push buttons. And as a hunting solo piece in group 2 to throw a couple of orders into him when the ZC has nothing to do/is stuck.

Will let you know how does he perform and if that his cost of 2xfusiliers is worth the taking.

I think he's not a bad model, he's just not particularly interesting to me. Maybe a bit too expensive for my taste (Arm and BTS bloat it a bit) and I'd hoped to see something more in line with the Regular Minelayer toolkit than a Visor+SMR. Nothing wrong with that, just nothing that makes me want to play him.

Minelayer would be an amazing upgrade for both of those Dire Foes. That might be why they didn't receive it. It would significantly change the mechanics/inherent weaknesses involved in fighting both TJC and VIRD.

TJC already would have had access on the Puppetmaster. A second Minelayer would arguably have been okay to offset one of their weakpoints a little (DZ defense) and more useful than the 3rd Sensor.

For the PanO guy I'd honestly take something as basic as dual Breaker Pistols to compliment his MMR if we have to make a boring hardcore PanO themed guy at all costs.

The second Minelayer, not to mention a source of mines that could be advanced up the field, would be wholely valuable. Having antipersonnel mines gated behind the Spektr is challenging. VIRD's in a similar boat... They technically have mines, but the Croc isn't always an easy purchase. 30+ points to realistically get access to mines is a tall ask, and mines are a very big deal.

I would have been okay trading the MSV1 for a MULTI Marksmen. While it hurts his f2f odds, it also means he's less hurt by the White Noise that I often see get leveraged versus VIRD. Additionally, the sheer versatility those ammo types is very helpful.

As I said hes meh. Hes not terrible but hes not amazing either. Hes ok and boring. 23 points is the same as a Bulleteer minus the SWC cost. Hes not an autoinclude but if you got the points leftover, I can see upgrading a Fusilier FO into him.

Well, I find him interesting while unexciting. This is the same complain some had about the remake of the Kamau (before they get Shock Immunity and Stealth) : B13, Mimetism. While a bit dull, it's really effective and while they have now two new more skills, I don't think you use Stealth that much with them and we could call this bloat (I use it a lot as I'm not a fond of keeping all my Kamaus in the back but this is something else).

I agree, no thrill in his profile (I would have welcome the Breaker pistol too). But I bet that he will see the table a lot. It's rare for us to have a DF that is both good in sectorials and in Vanilla and while he doesn't have the linkability of Leila (which would make him a bit autoinclude), he is quite from the same mold and I don't think anyone says Leila is a bad DF.

hehe... this is a next level of a ‘git gud’ argument.
“You have to be a top competitive player to understand he’s good!” *Rolls eyes at low tier peasants*

Frankly speaking I'm missing the exact play the non-NWI, non-Shock-Immune, non-Veteran dude with "only" MSV1 (smoke still counters him) brings to the table when it comes to killing WB over the good-old-poor Fusilier (yea, Shock and +1BS for 13pts ;P)

Yeah I'm still looking for the synergy but I'm kinda stuck there's like just nothing there to overlook? At all? Whatsoever?
Kamau MSR discovers better in a link...
... and even shoots better even in 16, considering Mimetism, DA Ammo and +2Dam and ignoring the HMG exists.
FO is availbale through either basic Fusiliers who also bring deployable Repeaters OR Kamau...
He has Shock. Which is a thing. But costs the same as a buffable Bulleteer who can turn it off. Or an Echo Bravo Red Fury who can smoke out a Warband from behind a building.

What does he do well exactly? 0 SWC in two SWC starved Sectorials is kinda nice I guess.
But one of them has Zulu Cobra Sensor and KHD, while the other is just kinda okay with spending all SWC on guns anyway.

So NCA gets a better Discover for the Link if you don't want to shell out for the Aquila FTO, got it.
Might have found a nickname for him.

    - Sidegrade Quinn -
    the utterly unremarkable

no, I’m rarely that brazen as your post above. Although I’m not shy about calling out objectively bad decision making or list building. But I’m glad that you’re not denying the allegation. :)

I haven’t stoped to level of insinuating that people who don’t understand a bad unit are just terrible players who don’t understand “high competitive plays”.
even if I’m open about the fact that I’ve been in many bitch fits with numerous other users... I don’t know, I just seem to tick people with a frail ego off for some reason. :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

Pretty much my first interaction with you was you claiming that I clearly couldnt make what I make work unless I didnt really play in a competitive meta.

Yes, I seem to remember you being under the false illusion that an Orc was more durable against a monofilament assassin than a Fusilier. Silly me for pointing mathematically correct statements.
It’s okay Daboarder, I respect that you’re open about, and stand by your git gud argumentation.
