After looking at the Warsenal alleyway terrain. I feel like there isn't enough hanging power cords, ducts and girders in my terrain. I want it to match my Plast Craft table so I don't think the Warsenal one works for me.

I want to do the ducts from this image
    upload_2021-4-21_10-14-41.png

I am going to get the TTCombat ducts. I will attach hanging wires in different bunches. I will probably get a ton of head phones from the dollar tree and cut them up.
    upload_2021-4-21_10-15-39.png

I want to make the pipes from this image
    upload_2021-4-21_10-17-55.png

For the pipes I will probably just use straws. I will also use railroad girder from a bridge I bought.
    upload_2021-4-21_10-22-16.png

I also want to use some girders like in the image.
    upload_2021-4-21_10-24-46.png

All the train ones I found are either to big or small. I have tried to search through Necromunda terrain also with no luck. I can find things that use to be on sale on ebay. Anyone know where I can find some?

That last picture looks like parts that this site makes - https://www.wargamestournaments.com/ might be worth seeing if you can get custom work from them, or having a look at their stuff

A couple of ideas: Toy cranes are ideal for cheap girder. Try searching second hand sites. Moreover, the usual toy cranes are huge, so if the scale fits will provide tons of material for about 10-15 EUR.

More expensive: search Plastruct for Structural Shapes in ABS. They have Warren Open Web Truss in different shapes and scales. But each piece of about 40-50 cm is the price of a toy crane.

    An example with that material

I'd also look at evergreen - lots of tubes and I beams and square rods and other shapes you can customize, all styrene which is really easy to work with.

In my own experience Evergreen is cheaper than Plastruct but it has less references in catalog. They produce all in PS (I love it) and all the basic shapes: rods, tubes, H-beams, I-Beams, T-Beams, L...

Still, a must if you deal with a serious modelism project.

Define big and small. I just checked a random scale rail shop, and they have girder parts in 8 to 30 mm height (by 100 or 200 mm length) for a pound or two each plank (so double if you want two sides and build the other two solid sides with card or such). And probably any place that does their own cutting will cut custom sizes anyway.

So after I put together the railroad bridge pieces. I didn't think they were to small. I made a few last night. I used headphone cords and phone chargers from the Dollar Tree and signs from Battle Systems. I am still going to add some rust to the girder and a wash to the cords. Everything is a little to clean.

love these, fantastic execution. a couple thoughts:

1 - for playability, you may want to bundle the cords and cables up a bit to avoid getting caught on spikey minis.

2 - if you my make them a smidge deeper or added grating on top, they could be used as catwalks to add more mobility to the table.

How long are they? N4 rules you can run along them if you can make all the way. Looks very cool as well

If those are HO scale like they look to be, they won't be wide enough. My guess is they are .275" wide, but if they are more than .5", yeah, that's an interesting option for S2 models at least.

They look excellent. I think they transmit the feeling you were looking for.

Good idea, they look too clean, specially compared to the buildings.

I agree; it happened to me all the time with dungeon scenery. Many minis are too spiky, so they wreak havoc on any fancy scenario.

That sounds like a good idea. Maybe you can combine a couple of girders, adding some beams, so the girders are coupled if not as a proper catwalk, as something that looks like a catwalk.

    More ideas about this later...

Girder, some cables, other girder. Like your tubes, but flatter and more packed.

    1. I thought about this the entire time. I knew this will probably make this awful to play on, but it will look cool!

    2. I have a ton of the Plast Craft bridges and I will use these were I don't want bridges. I plan on making cords by themselves that can fit under the bridges. Not sure how yet, but planning.

I will measure tonight. I made them the same length as the Plast Craft bridges.

I made a couple more and started on the pipes. Those will be able to have models walk across. I am still waiting on the air ducts. I also have a ton of the signs from the Plast Craft buildings and want to use them, but sense they are semi transparent they look weird. Any ideas how I could use those?

The stairs are pretty sturdy. The heaviest single model I have is an old GW metal Dread. It was able to hold the weight. I was a little surprised honestly.

For the girders I added wash to the wires and rust to the signs and girders.

The air ducts came and I started on them. I cheated and printed texture that I copied from the Star Motel. I think I am going to make one that will start on the first floor go across an alley then go up to the second floor of another building. basically just an L. I am also going to make a couple that I can place next to a building that will just go up the side of it.

I also bought 4 packs of Bollards from reaper to put at the end of my alleys. What color scheme should I use?
