Hey guys! Was curious where Britain and Scandinavia stood in the lore regarding factions. I know the Ariadna have a Scottish background. I am not clued up on Infinity lore, but I thought Panoceania spanned America, again could be wrong though. Thanks!
The EU joined PanO as their economy was flagging and they had no prospects of joining the expansion into space by themselves, especially after the Aurora and Dawn colony ships disappeared without a trace (the survivors of the Dawn colony ship founded the Ariadnan nations but weren't rediscovered for around a century). The planet of Svalarheima in particular has a lot of Scandinavian sellers. The USA is actually still an independent nation, they fought a losing war against PanO which culminated in the US accidentally releasing a destroyer nanoweapon on their own west coast. Due to the loss of the war, and the cost of the Dawn and Aurora missions the US is essentially relegated to minor nation status, having sold off their NASA to the fledgling Haqqislam and having little ability to expand beyond their borders.
Thanks for the info! Where was PanO initially founded? Infinity Lore brings sci-fi into reality, love it. How strong of a faction are Haqqislam in the lore. They are a super interesting faction. So I take it there is a lot of room for new playable factions in the infinity world.
PanO was formed of Oceanic nations such as Australia, Indonesia, the Philippines, then later came India, South America, and the EU. This is where a lot of troops like the Tikbalang, Bagh-maris, Sikh Akals, etc get their names. Haqqislam are a major power with a seat on the O-12 Council, their influence comes from their planet Bourak being the only known source of Silk, the material used to create cubes and fuel most modern medical sciences. If you're interested in the history of the Human Sphere I would recommend the Core Book of Modiphius' Infinity RPG, you can get it in PDF from Drivethrurpg for a reasonable price.
Oh of course it was! Oceanic, why didn't I realise that. That is very cool though, I love the Sikh Akal models too. Thanks for the tip, I really want to get into the background of infinity. Will give it a download asap! Thanks for the help bud
