One thing that can happen in that situation though is that enemies can Cautious Move into your rear arc if you're not careful.

Or just Move+Move in a marker state behind you.

The other one I like is Spotlight + Move. If you miss you're in their rear-arc, if you hit, they're Targetted. Admittedly you need to be careful of DTWs with this tactic but :).

Warmachine made the same change to doing it this pretty much the same reasons if I recall correctly.

Warmachine doesn't use elevation and doesn't have AROs.

they have free strikes, and they have some use for elevations (just not as complete and complex as in infinity)

anyway, I think it is clear, and more important, it is clear the intention. All those "shotting from the butt" things were unheard in n1 and n2, it worked (more or les) as it does now. I think, most people that see this change as "non intuitive" is because they are too used to that n3 interaction (that came from a wronly used FAQ and created more problems than making it "intuitive"). Luckily, now it doesn't exists anymore.

If someone needs an explanation, there are some:

one is that this way, the rule works very similar to old n1 "if you see me, I see you", which was that if both contenders were facing themselves with their front arcs, and one could see the other, the second one had also LoV to the first one. That was because there were no siluete rules, so they had to use other ways to explain how LoV worked in those dinamic miniatures (there were some that had a few problems, like YJ Ko-dali, the zero combi, or some parachutists, with weird poses and sizes)

another, more in the lore side, is that the siluete represent the standard volume a person might have, if they are checking a side, there can move a bit to check to different possitions. Is hard to get a moving target that consciously is checking its sorroundings, to be able to see him, but for him to not being able to see back, when there is nothing blocking both sights
