I still hope, the missing of the Halqas is just a bug. I reported it yesterday and maybe we have some luck. D-Charges are a welcome change. Another thing is, that there is now a deployable common skill. So now, you can deploy up to 4 different things with a coordinated order.
Okay, why is senior massacre a unit profile in my HB sectorial. Shoot, there are sooo many mercenaries it’s silly. Are all these mercenaries now playable in HB for ITS use?!
The question is, how the hell do we use Muttawi'ahs now...if at all. If you want the jammer or the E/marat, you don't get any smoke...so it feels like both those options, especially the E/Marat, are quite poor now. Or am I wrong?
Unless it's an error, there is now a Hunzakut that's a regular, and not an irregular. I probably won't be using him, as he lacks mines and repeaters, but still, an Infiltrating Regular Specialist with camouflage and WIP 14, for 18 pts...not bad.
Leila Sharif got even better, as she got E/M mines. It might not be a very big change, but it does compensate a bit for the lack of E/Marat-wielding muttawiahs. The Bashi Bazouks now got a Specialist Operative for 15 pts. Not great perhaps, but interesting nonetheless. The Shock Immunity on the Ragiks is quite a neat buff too.
It's not impossible - the Foxtrot FO is better and is 18 points. But I assume it's an error, it just doesn't make sense somehow.
Then the BSG profiles are what you are looking for, if you want either with Smoke. I am torn on them in general...with the new 15 spot limit its hard for me to justify more than one irregular order, but on the other hand, they are such good deterrents against Alpha Strikes, especially if you consider, there are now 14 Order Avatars out there.
Yeah, it's hard to see where they'll fit. A hacker will provide better ZoC deterrence against most alpha strikers, and can be extended with repeaters. The Avatar is probably an extreme example, but I'm not sure a jammer would do much against it at all. At WIP 17 and BTS 9 it's pretty hard to land the jammer, and even if you do, it's resetting out of isolation on 8s. And the jammer only has two uses. If I were to take them, I'd probably take the 5-point e/marats which are still pretty good corner defense. Loss of smoke is offset by loss of extreme impetuousness so that now they can actually deploy in a good spot to guard a corner. 5 points is nothing, but the troop slot is a significant resource to spend on a corner guard. There could have been a Daylami in that slot. Otoh if you need a cheap source of smoke, the 9-point guys can provide it while also guarding a corner...
At least the resetting out of isolation shouldn't deter you from using it. If you isolate anything as an ARO that rambo unit is done with this active turn. I'm more concerned that immunity (total) seems to work against jammers now. Please someone correct me if i'm wrong?
Immunity Skills don’t work against Comms Attacks, with the exception of ‘Immunity (name of a State)’.
Oh no, its definitely EMarat over Jammer for me, if we are talking about those targets. But if I really invest in a Ghazi, it most probably will be the BSG one, to make the most out of it. Good point, about beeing a better corner guard now, due to voluntary Impetious. Also makes bikes much more surviveable, but we dont have them in HB. Hackers might really be the better option against hard targets now, but we dont have those juicy Camo Infiltration ones...
I see that the barid killer hacker has upgrade: trinity. But don't all killer hackers get trinity? Edit: Oops never mind it's trinity-3. yay for our super hackers!
I have a plan to run a bunch of mutts alongside a maggie as an escort (ok probably two mutts). They can use their irregular orders each turn if they need to reload jammers off her baggage. I also have a plan to never run mutts if I don't feel like it, because hot damn have you seen bikers this edition.
