The narrative missions in Xenotech, TAGLine and Treason weren't added to those seasons' mission pools, though, they were kept separate... And the stretch goal literally promised to add mining themed content to certain missions in the current season. Whether those extras will be optional or not remains to be seen, but that wasn't done in the previous season, either, as those were released as entirely separate narrative missions.
Yup. There's no precedent for optional scenario-specific extras like that. People who are saying otherwise are just wrong.
I'll be happy to be wrong, mandatory (or free) ephemeral units annoy me. Key word being "annoy". Won't be the end of the world if I'm interpreting "added to current mission pool" correctly, but there is a possibility I'm wrong or that CB changes plans when they see that the die hards are expecting it one way and the doubters are fearing the other, seeing how for once there's something resembling a consensus about what's preferred.
For the free TAGs in the TAGline narrative event I printed paper standees and provided them to the people participating in the event. It was a fun and not entirely balanced one-off event. Edit: it was a Tikbalang TAG and an Umbra Samaritan plus three Unidrons representing Tony, Nourikas, and his entourage.
Please do not use personal attacks. I understand the concerns involved, but please ITS is a laboratory of ideas and tests for the betterment of the game, some ideas sound bad, but are good in practice, some ideas sound good but are bad in practice, ITS gives the possibility for these ideas to be put to the test.
Hey, do you think you could poke @HellLois or one of the others to set things straight? Is the plan to have these mining missions and crew be part of a separate narrative style document or is the plan to have them slotted in as mission alterations in the main tournament mission set?
Thank you for you comments, opinions and worries! I've taken note for all of them. These rules are WIP, and are susceptible to change. Trying to maintain fun and balance, also have in mind that the text you read is a general idea, not the final rule. Anyway, we have the both options on the table, for ITS general rules and for a Narrative Event. But, after reading all the sensations, I will reconsider it. We will keep you informed. About the Motorized Bounty Hunter, we don't want to force any one to buy it. We create this rule to give the players the change to use their Motorcycle miniatures. We add that rule in only 5 missions of 20. And for that players who doesn't have a motorcycle miniature and don't want to buy it, we have the Proxy rule on ITS and in the Tokens PDF we've added the motorcycle token to ease the use of the "extra rule" using it with the Silhouette template. https://downloads.corvusbelli.com/infinity/tokens/tokens.pdf Oh god no, we are trying to give you new options to use your miniatures. I strongly believe that we try to avoid that obsolescence, if not, why we allow people to play with discontinued Armies like Acontecimento, Merovingia, etc. Also we are very flexible with the proxies during tournaments. sooo... That's one of the reason of the free MBH, give the change to people to use that "useless" miniatures. With not doubt Kasym or Penthesilea would be a great MBH proxy. Yep, due de COVID I decided to delay the Event pack and cancel the narrative event. Ohh that would be fantastic! But we make a few (sometimes a lot) mistakes, but we try to learn of them.
This is all true, however, the example I gave with the two Motorised bounty hunters. The truth is I can't run 2 anymore for my faction once the season ends and I'll have a pointless model if I bought two. What are your thoughts on that? I personally think the issue will be less problematic if you start providing more weapon options in kits. Having duplicate models is less of a feels bad if they are differently equipped. Also personally I strongly recommend these "free" models should in the future respect combat group size limits. There's too much room for abuse with certain factions just abusing it to pool even more ludicrous numbers of orders through a single attack piece/fireteam such as Invicibles or Combined.
The truth is, if you buy a cup of coffee in the morning (or the refreshing beverage of your choice), you’re just going to drink it, and then it will be gone forever. So it’s pointless to buy nice drinks, right?
Please don't attempt to drink your miniatures. They may be high in several minerals that your body needs, but your body can not digest them and they may cause inconvenience such as death.
Yes, this is the GW planned obsolescence approach to their minis. Not everyone likes that in their game, and you may notice @HellLois response to me is that they're against such practices. I am making the point that the current ITS mission freebies aren't in line with his comments as they can wind up as useless duplicates once the season ends. Whether or not you think models aging out after each season is acceptable is completely irrelevant. The point is the mechanics are contrary to CB's stance on the matter.
quite likely considering the general toxicity of certain chemicals in the metal. I’m all for getting my iron intake (unsure how much is present here) but don’t really need the lead, cadmium, bismuth and zinc that will be present...
For me it's less the price of an individual mini and more the cost in personal time and effort to assemble and carefully paint something that may cycle out. My hobby time is precious so I want to get the most out of it, but I also can't stand playing with unpainted models, so it just creates general anxiety to be put into this situation of feeling obligated to do something that goes beyond spending a few bucks on a figure. The good news for me is that I've been interested in picking up Carmen Johns for awhile, so at least that's an out for me on this particular conundrum - but it does force me to change my hobby queue nonetheless to play on an even playing field.
