Hi all! Didn’t find answer for this question yet. Really need an answer: And now case: We have not clear rule rules for new Aro. Example. Model A declares first part of the order move from it’s DZ and get behind a corner but out of LoF of model B. Model B now has to declare it’s Aro according step 2 of order expenditure sequence. We checking lof, model b doesn’t have it, so it has to declare dodge/reset or it will lost it’s aro because of step 2: 2. Declaration of AROs: The Reactive Player checks Lines of Fire to the Active Trooper, and declares AROs. Troopers are not forced to declare the AROs, but if a Trooper can declare an ARO and fails to do so, the chance to declare an ARO is lost. Now step 3. Model A can cross the gunline for free without any harm, because model B has to declare some kind of ARO or it will lose it. And now, how step 4 possible, if every model on the table has to declare any kind of aro in step2? 4. Declaration of AROs: The Reactive Player checks Lines of Fire to the Active Trooper from those Troopers who didn’t declare an ARO before, and can declare any new AROs that are available. This question is very interesting, because if it works that way, it will broke the game. First it will allow to pass long range aro without trigger it. Second it allows Hidden deployment troops declare aro on the last order and pop out of their hidden state and generate all their orders( cutters or sphinx get their TA from this maneuver) I think we have to bring back n3 mechanics with aro or i don’t understand how to fix it. Because it’s really stupid, when some one activate a model in their dz and another model without lof or zoc have to declare an aro.
As has been stated multiple times the past month, Troopers only lose their ARO opportunity if the they are eligible for an ARO and do not take it - which is when they fulfil an ARO skill's requirements. Being able to declare an ARO is not the same thing.
pls, give us a link to the topic about "Troopers only lose their ARO opportunity if the they are eligible for an ARO and do not take it"
Stickied thread: https://forum.corvusbelli.com/threads/n4-unresolved-rules-questions.38447/#post-378443 Linked in that stickied thread: https://forum.corvusbelli.com/threa...-and-aro-declaration.39389/page-2#post-397441 Use your best judgement. Declare if you think you have one, do not if you think you did not have an ARO or want to gamble with distances for a better ARO.
I think it’s not a solution to the problem. Maybe it’s ok for homeplay, but when it comes to the tournament play, we need a clear wording. Now with this n4 aro mechanics you have to many holes in rules, which allows some players to get advantage over other players. Since n4 started the aro questions still open, in my opinion it has to be fixed long ago, since it is a core mechanics of hole game. And declaring everything with hidden deployment troops in order to reveal them looks weird. Can we get an answer from CB stuff about this all “aro wars”. Because now, as a player i just open wiki, and according to the rules, every model have to declare an aro on my first part of the order. I’m not toxic, i just read the rules and play according them.
