Hi all, Just a few questions below :) If a Vet Kazak is in Suppression fire and someone shoots him from out of his normal LOF (e.g. his flanks/rear), does he get to fire back in the suppressive state? Also for SSL2, when a model fires in ARO against a model out of their normal LOF, do they change facing anytime during or after said ARO? Last one - all things given equal, would you rather burn your points on 2xSpetsnaz HMG or 1xVet Kazak FO/T2 + 1 Spetsnaz? Is the Vet Kazak more of a "roadblock" unit with his -9 in suppressive fire state than a Spetsnaz-active turn killer. Cheers
1. In short: SSL2 allows you to draw LOF without LOS :) (LOF is still important - you can't respond with fire on speculative grenade outside a wall) 2. No, you don't change facing. Only if you survuvived after ARM\BTS rolls, or if you dfeclared dodge\change facing 3. sometimes roadblock is important. + Vet Kazak FO can make missions, has direct template with fire. I personally would like my army to be agile. Haveing one Spetsnaz and one Vet. Kazak FO seems to be a nice agile apporoach.
1) He gets a normal ARO, so can choose suppression fire; or to fire back normally; or anything else you fancy! [I can't add anything to sorniak's answer for #2] 3) I tend to prefer one of each unit... but that's more because I only have one Spetsnaz model and try to avoid using proxies. Though, I have found that the Spetsnaz HMG can be just as much as a road-block in suppression fire; because he's ignoring the -3BS from cover, he can actually be nastier than the Vet to shift if placed well. (E.g. he faced down an Avatar this way for a few orders, surviving long enough for the TAG to eventually give up!)
number 2 isnt so cut and dry. if any model does not ARO and they survive an attack, they may warning, this is not an activation and wont trigger mines or break supression fire and it requires no roll
just remember that Warning is not an ARO. its post resolution for that order if you havent done anything else that order
