So which profile do you prefer and why? Another question can the Gorgos shoot and the chaksa throw the grenade? I guess not because one is bs and the other ph

Never messed with Gorgos B. If I'm wasting points on a Gorgos, I want the most tools on it, so I always take A.

Yes, the Gorgos can shoot and the Chaksa can throw grenades together. They are both "BS Attacks", the grenade is just a "BS Attack" that uses the PH attribute.

Tossing a grenade is still a BS stack so you can have the Peripheral throw a grenade while the Gorgos bullets something.

I prefer the LS peripheral because it's such an amazing attack piece on its own with mimetism, shotgun mods, and 6-4. Perfect for clearing out backlines and repeaters while the Gorgos either flanks or kills something else.

The Gorgos needs the Peripheral to really sing and the LS variant puts up strong face to face mods to keep itself alive. The Pulzar variant doesn't last nearly as long. The added utility of grenades makes the Gorgos even more oppressive.

Also why is the Gorgos that bad? Only because how symbiont armor reacts to fire (that's a pretty hard counter), or something else?

Too big (so it's kinda hard to avoid being seen), too expensive, and poured in gasoline... Fire impact failed => loses symbiont. And now roll, dear pilot. 90% of the time, if fire hits the Gorgos, you lose it all.
Now, granted, Rocket Launchers are not widely spread (most of them on troops with BS13+), but there are a lot of flamethrowers around, and more than a few of those are carried by troops that are more than happy to die (point cost difference) if that means a fire impact on the Gorgos...

Also, until now TAGs were kinda subpar options aside from the Avatar.

And finally... unlike other TAGs, the Gorgos shares a limitation with the Iguana and the Anaconda: once the pilot is out, there is no going back, meaning dismounting effectively "kills" your own TAG... (I'm not sure about Points presence on the table, or if you retire the Gorgos miniature or not, though).

Yeah Gorgos isn't that great but I played him a bunch in limited insertion games and its not that bad but another negative aspect most TAGs got Hyper Rapid Cannon or AP HMG or Multi HMG or some other intresting weapon Gorgos got Flammenspeer(2) and AP Spitfire as its main weapons which are a bit inferior, but its not really cheaper for that. Another point is thanks to its chaksa it can't be part of a coordinated order, the gorgos isn't bad one thing I would have prefered to have hyper dynamics instead of kinematika

Who said anything about dismounting? "once you are out" can mean being expelled because the TAG lost its last wound ;)

I think an lt profile would be interesting. That lt order would give it some extra push and with access to coc it would be an interesting option

    Way to break a joke.

You CAN dismount from a Gorgos, since it has an Active Symbiont armor, but since there is no way to "reactivate" a Symbiont Armour if you do so there is no way to get back inside.

    http://wiki.infinitythegame.com/en/Active_Symbiont_Armor
Now, for the explaining: You CAN declare dismount for the Gorgos. You CANNOT "mount again" after leaving the Gorgos, the Iguana, or the Anaconda. Placing a comma on "...there is no going back, meaning dismounting effectively "kills" your own TAG..." was pointing to the Gorgos.

That's not 'dismounting', and has nothing to do with Pilots dismounting from Manned TAGs. :-(

Note that it's similar for the Anaconda and Iguana, they don't have Pilots and can't dismount.

This is semantics. You know what he means. Yes, you can eject from ES1 or ES2 TAGs, or detach from Symbiont Armor, "dismounting", but you can't get back in.

@Zsolt the problem with Gorgos is the fundamental problem with TAGs: a big pile of points that's easy to accidentally counter with a stray Hacker or Panzerfaust or E/M or Engage roll. Our TAG however can't even be repaired, as others, and while it has the boon of Symbiomates and Symbiobombs, those are easily stripped with a nearby flamer or LRL. They could chop the price by 10 points, and people would still reach for a Rasail first.

Yeah only time I am considering gorgos is for limited insertion and because I want to play him cause he looks cool, not really because I think he is strong or good the ironclad buff is at least nice

I still say that Hackers shouldn't be able to hack pumpkin suits.

If they got rid of Hackable Tohaa HI and TAGS and also got rid of all our hacking devices I would be ok with it.

Getting rid of ALL of our hacking devices blocks us out of some objectives, but in general I agree with the idea that hacking the pumpkin suits feels dumb. Even further only SOME of the pumpkin suits.

If they allowed us to use Pheroware to complete those objectives then it wouldn't be an issue. Ditch all hacking devices and all hackability of pumpkin suits!

I disagree. I think both Ariadna and Tohaa should have more hackable stuff. It should be hard not to include hackable stuff. Having bad hacking should be more of a weakness than a strength.

As it is in Infinity, it's often best to not play the hacking game at all. This stands in direct contrast to common game elements such as fireteams, specialists, SWC guns, smoke, and camo, which are pretty much mandatory when available.
