What is this "boutique"? Is it something on the infinity the RPG forums from Modiphus (which are down right now)?
Right, sorry, in the old forum(s) the off topic area was called "the (bou)boutique of the caravansary" generally I mean the off topic area since we have members who never knew the old forum(s) Ill try to refer to the off topic subforum.
Yeah, I remember the caravansary thing in the old forums as off topic (read, not infinity) threads: I was just curious since it was an Infinity RPG topic, and I didn't see an RPG / Infinity background fluff section here on the new forums.
@DFW Ike. . . I don't know if You have yet seen it but EVERY Stuff even tangentially related to the new Infinity Roleplaying Game is in the "PARTNERS & DISTRIBUTION" Sub-Forum in the "Modiphius Entertainment" Section. . . . .
Thanks for finding that. Apparently I don't know how to read. edit: apparently I don't know how to write either.
I hope Yu Jing regains a bit of its pride and standing. It has taken some hits in the campaigns and with its faction being slashed in halve it is turning into a real underdog. I think future fluff needs to push Yu Jing in looking capable. The introduction of New sectorials can help with that. I don't mind the fluff and how the uprising is portayed. Civil wars are a very messy affair and the most extreme views tend to take charge. Fundamentalists profit from chaos and a powervacum. While Yu Jing, attacked from all sides seems to be pushed into dramatic maesures if they want to keep control. But what after: In my mind other factions should feel some blowback from this. Aiding a civil war must cost them or give them reason to overextent or make them look away from other problems. Maybe Yu Jing was left out to dry on Paradiso, with the other factions way to eager to backstab. But Yu Jing with some tenacious effort went above and beyond and gathered some precieous intel which the whole sphere should know about. So Yu Jing makes a benevolent gesture and shares it, taking the mantle of defenders of humanity while the world sees that Pano has put all its efforts in sabotaging another faction. Yu Jing can use a win. I would like to see the stronger without route be taken. Verstuurd vanaf mijn SM-G930F met Tapatalk
In mi opnion, Yujing needs some kind on internal revolution to let this fiasco behind. This are some ideas that could help on this redeeming path: Forced Emperor succession or at least cout martial ISS war criminals: It's orders, or it's subordinates were too out of hand. Their actions damaged the image of Justice that the emperor and ISS represents. So, at least we need to play some pantomime. Empowerment of the Yanjing, the intelligence agency: the JSA were able to do all this under their noses, so they seem rather incompetent at the moment. This empowerment could come as a Fluff big success, as a Yanjing sectorial... Renewal of some of their ethics and bury some prejudices: (It was obvious that the unifying of Asiatic countries has taken heavy blow). the martial law over kuramori needs to lead to integration rather than to mere oppression. It's key to show the Japanese Yujing that they were used by the kuge. to lift the restrictions imposed to second class citizens... This is a pretty important even the meaning of the term "Yu-jing" is at stake. If I had to make a in-game move towards this, it will be a branch of japanese imperial agents, "the Fenix xiǎoduì/butai", born from the ashes of kuramori, considered by JSA as traitors and mere lapdogs of Yujing. They fight leaving samurai pride aside for the sake of the state empire and it's YJ japanese citizens... Empowerment of diplomacy: After this uprising, Everyone seems likely to be PANO an ocasional ally. Yujing seems pretty weak on what's suposed to be one of it's strong points, It seems that It always to stand alone or lacks the ability to make others align with its interests. Yunjing needs more potential "allies", not Just Aleph, It needs more weight inside O-12, more leverage over the rest of the factions so this backstab never repeats again... Ninja second blossom: Now that YJ pays the minor clans to work in the shadows it's logic that their experience and their expertise under the umbrella of the hiperpower brings up top class experts and ninja masters. It makes sense because it was the thing that enabled the JSA ninjas to grow and flourish in the first place. New moral colors on Invincible army and White banner: Since ISS is our only sectorial, Yujing seems to be pretty dark and an extremist oppressor. We need to see other aspects of our faction. The toughness and heroism of the invincible army against the EC, The survival skills and opportunism of the white banner against PANO...
I would love to see a YJ character ninja that's wielding a monofilament sword that they got from managing to kill an Oniwaban during the uprising. Bonus points for it having been their Oniwaban.
@psychoticstorm I return to your comment after some time has passed. This is not a hasty, impassioned response. I am concerned by your characterisation of this thread as volatile. In contrast to many other post-Uprising YJ discussion this has remained constructive and respectful. There is no evidence that supports your characterisation of volatility. Spoiler I have my own theory as to why this is true, but that is not relevant to my following point. The discussion of the nature of the YJ polity and that of the other HS powers is entirely congruent with this topic. I believe your moderation comment is misplaced and could be construed as an attempt to stifle constructive discussion. Please consider the implicit messaging of your posts in future.
That's certainly the easy answer. I would like there to be proper Yu Jing equivalent with the same role/punch as the Oniwaban either way, but just making carbon copies with a different name isn't very exciting. My proposition was to exist in conjunction with such a pseudo replacement, no in place of it.
I think Shikami are too heavily overshadowed by the Hac Tao - they're much more of a unique option in JSA, IMO. I'd rather YJ get new light HI to support the Zuyong, or possibly some camo remotes to back up dao-fei. Seeing YJ push their existing envelope is more interesting to me than trying to get back JSA units with new names.
It is an understandable concern, all Yu Jing threads can explode or have exploded quite easily and surprisingly fast (hence volatile), I would rather not have this or any other thread burst into a raging inferno because of a passionate political discussion. I would rather see such things discussed in the off topic and not derail main treads were people discuss or watch, into current political debates. I hope this answers your question.
Best outcome, JSA rises up and all the yu jing troops get added as smaller sectorials underneath japan.
Japan tried that in the 1920s, dude. It didn't go so well for them. Worse, apparently DaiNippon is being really stupid and sending troops into Kuraimori after the cease-fire/recognition as a separate country.
Thanks for your response. I understand you are taking a cautious approach and attempting to avert an escalation. My point was that doing that now can give the impression that discussion involving the comparison between YJ and other HS entities is off limits. It appears that you have taken that into consideration. Question answered.
