what if they are hover bikes (though going by tunguskas aesthetic they might be tron bikes), there is some fluff about part of tunguskas job is safe delivery of packages, Have a big REM style bike with a pilot on board, would be awesome if you had him drop of the pilot to go do objectives but have the bike go into some sort of TR mode to defend itself till pilot comes back.
Could be cool if our contribution to the uprising secured us some jsa bike tech. More likely I'll expect an update to the meteor or something. Something about it feels stale and needing an update. We've moved into an era where yuan yuan could be in any list and the swc cost on the meteor is criminal compared to anything else we could take. Want the combi downfield? Tomcat or brando. Want the repeater? Tomcat or moran or pitchers or zeros. Want the sensor? Stempler. You pay a big swc cost for a sensor and repeater to land in enemy dz. I've commented some cheeky ideas how to use a meteor but realistically it's only 1 more order efficient than other options, which come with other utility.
My money is on Zoom Zoomy light zond. 8:4, BS11, ARM0, Superjump, Impetuous, No Smoke. Probably Mimm, maybe ODD. I wouldn't be surprised if all it gets for weapons is a Multirifle or maybe 2 X Multirifles. Which will limit its ability to use it's Impetuous order: because it'll be extremely vulnerable to LR AROs. Sent from my Pixel 2 using Tapatalk
ODD could be fun and fitting since Pi-Well has it, but I hope that's not it's only defense. This statline is too close to Reaktion Zond for my liking, 6:4, BS11, ARM0, Climbing Plus, regular, no smoke + 360 visor, total reaction, and an HMG.
It's a 'bike' analogue. Existing bikes get defence in 3 ways: Mimmetism Smoke Smoke+ARM I think they'll favour speed and MODs over robustness. Which is why it's deliberately very similar to a standard REM stats. I think it'll be based on the Stempler stats rather than the Combat REM one. But BS12, Mimmetism+ARM3 isn't out of the question. The good thing is that Impetuous+Supportware is naturally self limiting: which gives scope for a stronger profile. MML2 on the Impetuous order would be BS on a strong profile. I don't think tech was holding Nomads back. A Nomad that drives a sapient remote bike would be a cool character but not a military unit.
This. It's why I think it'll be a 'bike' analogue rather than an actual bike. I think model and fluffwise it'll be more like a small remotely piloted spacecraft. This also makes Tunguska (and nomads by extension) the home of the 'x analogue' REM. So tactical puppets (or another option) as warband-analogue REMs. Sent from my Pixel 2 using Tapatalk
Well, he said a bike and that would mean the Motorcycle rule, and therefore a dismounted rider. Which would suggest to me that the Zond is the bike and someone is razzing around on said bike. Nautical Zond makes me thing a Tunguskan Marine of some sort, potentially they will be Zero-G capable bikes? Who knows. Although Zond means unidentified flying object...
Maybe it's just a Remote with 8-6 MOV and a S4 but no motorcycle rule. If it does have super jump the climbing restriction seems also irrelevant. I guess this is quite possible, Tohaa f.e. have a Remote analogous unit which isn't an actual Remote too. ODD seems pretty resonable as well without smoke. Still could be Mimentism and TJCs Smoke delivery unit as well though.
I wouldn't try to pick apart details in their speech, they aren't known for choosing their words carefully.
I recommend starting with the classics. Iron Coffins, Clear the Bridge, Thunder Below, Submarine!, Wahoo, and Run Silent, Run Deep. (You might notice that Iron Cofins is actually a U-boat story, it's included because it's just as good, and gets into a bit of personal badassery in the last chapter) Those are the stories of my brothers, whose bodies still lie in the briny deep. When someone earned their Dolphins, we read a little bit of one of those books, usually Thunder Below. Then you can grab Tom Clancy's SSN, and Blind Man's Bluff to get into modern games. You could add Hunt for Red October, but it's not as good. I'll tell you what stories I can, too. That'd be interesting. Call it Nankai Delivery for a Ghost in the Shell 2: Man-Machine Interface shoutout? Nomads are not that awesome. No G:RP TAGs yet, after all. I'd expect it to be some level of AI like Svengali, not a human operator.
Whatever the Nautical Zond will look and play like, it somebody should make into a pizza delivery vehicle!
Just spent a little time building StarCo lists. Goddamn I really want a Brawler or CSU Core. If Securitate do that it'll awesome.
A brawler core would be neat in StarCo but a CSU core seems kind of plain. What I really want to see is an Authorized Bounty Hunter Core the variety of equipment that they could get due to booty 2 would be awesome game after game. Fingers crossed for Tunguska right? I'd take this in a heartbeat. 5 BOUNTY HUNTER Combi Rifle / Pistol, Knife. (0 | 16) BOUNTY HUNTER Boarding Shotgun / Pistol, Knife. (0 | 15) BOUNTY HUNTER Sniper Rifle / 2 Breaker Pistols, Knife. (0.5 | 21) BOUNTY HUNTER Spitfire / Pistol, Knife. (1 | 22) BOUNTY HUNTER Red Fury / Pistol, Knife. (0.5 | 21) 2 SWC | 95 Points
I'd probably drop the Spitfire or Red Fury for another BSG or Sniper. With 5 x Booty 2 rolls, you're probably getting some decent additional firepower. And yeah CSU lack SWC weapons to be viable. I was more making the point that a decent (ie better than Algs) link that averages <20pts is something Nomads don't really do yet. It's an extremely solid base for fuelling HI+SK in a LI list.
CSU make great cheerleaders or mixed link padding. A link of 5 could be good to hold an objective room or something. It'd be unique but more situational than a moderator link. I think the concept of a bodyguard protecting a specialist is cool and thematic, but I'd prefer we got our own personal over another merc mixed link. Securiate look like they should be the men in black watching flatly behind the boss, I hope that's what we get. The way our units are built now, I feel like a tunguska list is a "I'm not surprised" theme. Msv, sixth sense, our own to, unflinching hackers, and a very versatile tough tag. Not in a full tank immortal sort of way but a superior Intel sort of way. I hope we keep that.
The bodyguard protecting a specialist is why I think Interventor linkable with Securitate or Grenzers is a possibility. If a SSL2 Interventor is too strong, then maybe only as Duos or Haris.
Booty rolls and having to note which one has what can really slow the game. And remember one can roll a bike... I could go into "roll once (or choose 1 between 2-3 rolls), apply to all", it would really be crazy (Bikes Core... All with extra weapons... ODD... xD)
