But why when you can do the same thing with a specialist and a repeater and mines and a higher burst weapon? All of your examples are specifically situational where as the FO is a toolbox utility piece for insane value. lol.
Because the sectorial is starved for specialists, especially toolbox specialists who can excel in any situation. The sectorial also begs for broad repeater coverage and would often spend the points/SWC elsewhere. If you’re taking a second Hunzakut, it would only be the sniper in niche corner-case situations, if any at all. Read the early parts of this thread and several others. I’m not the only player who feels this way. The Hunzakut FO continues to prove its worth in every single game and situation I’ve seen it in, and I would argue its one of the best units available to DBS and Haqqislam.
Niche corner-case situations win games. You don't have to like it but it's hard not to feel insulted the way you express that.
*They help win some games. My argument is that it is too few games to be relevant to a universal core list discussion, which this thread is.
I haven't found a unit that wins every game alone. I use it in my core list because I think it compliments a situation where the Fireteam has trouble. That's how it's relevant. You should have at least said "only tournament competitive players" or something. This discussion could have been over if you didn't insist. But I'll stop posting. I guess I didn't understand the thread.
I wasn’t suggesting units will win the game alone. The Hunzakut FO has helped win (had a significant impact) on every game in which I’ve included it in my list. (DBS and Haqqislam).
@Q.A.I. I tried out your two sniper idea vs. Pan O and absolutely DESTROYED my buddy. We played Safe Area and this was my list: Double Sniper ────────────────────────────────────────────────── GROUP 1 9 1 DRUZE (X Visor) Combi Rifle + Light Grenade Launcher (E/M and Nimbus) / Viral Pistol, Knife. (0.5 | 27) DRUZE Hacker (Killer Hacking Device) Combi Rifle + Pitcher, D-Charges / Viral Pistol, Knife. (0 | 25) DRUZE (CH: Mimetism) MULTI Sniper / Viral Pistol, Knife. (0 | 16) CLIPPER DRONBOT Smart Missile Launcher / Electric Pulse. (1.5 | 18) VALERYA GROMOZ Hacker (Hacking Device UPGRADE: Expel) Combi Rifle + Pitcher / Pistol, Knife. (0 | 12) PATHFINDER DRONBOT Combi Rifle, Sniffer / Electric Pulse. (0 | 16) FUGAZI DRONBOT Flash Pulse, Sniffer / Electric Pulse. (0 | 8) 5.5 SWC | 300 Points Open in Infinity Army Core Team: Sniper + Sniper + Valerya + LGL + Clipper Classified Objective: FO twice (failed) My core team fortified a large building and covered some dominant fire lanes, skewed center-right, while my REMs (Fugazi and Pathfinder) held the left flank. Peacemaker deployed center field in cover with a Hunzakut perched above him. Another Hunzakut held my right flank. Saito deployed in Marker State near the Peacemaker and I took first turn, deploying first. Top of turn one I took attacked a lonely hacker with my right field Hunzakut. Killed him. Saito dropped smoke for the peacemaker, who went right and sent the auxbot to toast Joan and TR Bot. Killed TR bot and dropped Joan to No Wound Incap. The auxbot was stunned by a warcor. The other REMs dropped dead trying to FO the HVT (killed by a rooftop Fusilier. The fire team shuffled into my nearest zone, fortifying the windows and doors of their building. Bottom of turn two, my opponent tried to dislodge my clipper, pie slicing with his dragao. The clipper ruined his day, hitting on 18s and causing 2 wounds over a few orders. He retreated and successfully healed both wounds with a mechanist. He tried to dislodge the clipper again, this time from cover, but I got another wound on him followed by a Crit + 2 more wounds the next order. With his key piece out turn one, my opponent shuffled around, but didn't do much else. He was so sure it was the end of the game, that I played a bit foolishly, sneaking Saito into CC with Joan top of turn 2. (I thought it was top of 3 for some stupid reason). Saito died after Joan saved three armor rolls. My right-side hunzakut dropped mines in front of Joan after the Brawler sniper killed some more cheerleaders. Bottom of 2, the Hunzakut died and and Joan shrugged off a mine while killing Valerya and retreating. Valerya put Joan in IMM-1 through the peacemaker's repeater before she died. Didn't matter though, as the hunzakut's second mine killed Joan at the conclusion of her shoot-move order. Turn 3 the peacemaker and surviving hunzakut secured zones and killed the warcor. With his army in retreat and only 3 models remaining, my opponent couldn't do much to mitigate his loss. Druze victory: 8-1
I`m afraid @oldGregg you should find another candidate for Datatracker role. Peacemaker is not a valid one. from Season 9 p.9: "Also, Irregular troops and those whose Troop Type is REM are not eligible to be DataTrackers."
