I can say with some confidence as the consumer that i can see you guys compiling user questions into an extensive faq that will answer a large majority of question. The hesitant that i have is that there are bound to be questions missed that will be found only later. And the frequency of future faqs cannot be short enough to be truly assistful to the week by week gaming that the players do. At the moment we are looking at 6+ month faq cycle. Say that they do it in 3. That still leaves upwards of 3 months with the community unsure how to play a rule. And this community can find some extremely rule questions confusion that i doubt can be preemptively thought up.
Assuming all the outstanding questions are FAQ'd, the most likely problem is going to be questions on the FAQ answer itself, judging by some of the FAQs we've seen previously. :P I'm hoping that whoever is in charge of this process is going to be ready to provide clarification on follow up questions with any new language that is put out. Take, for example, the "are you engaged after your opponent falls unconscious" FAQ answer that really didn't answer anything...
Well then, I'll be happily surprised when that faq comes out when it does (i do realize that this work shall take time). A couple follow up questions. First is why not a formal post stating their intent and who to contact with any unanswered rules questions they have? Allow the compilation of rule concerns and answers to be public and formal? Also, who is best person to contact for rules questions we have? Just create new rules thread with them and you guys decide if question warrants, ask you via pm, or local warcor?
Agreed. But that is why a formal and public thing done by cb themselves. While it was awesome to be done by the community, we cannot tell that they are listening to our posts. If cb announces that they are now accumulating our questions to be answered and want it in xyz format. Well, then we know they are listening.
Indeed, but remember that something almost identical was done for ITS 9 questions and that actually got feedback from CB. I thought (incorrectly, apparently) that it could be done for more general rules questions.
Correct, but they had a person who was listening. Your plan was very solid if palanka or someone like palanka who was responding. But sadly not to be. That said i wouldn't neccessarily say it was worthless work. It may help in be a contributing factor like many others that lead to this. At least it is much more optimistic and benevolent if that were the case.
