Do coalas trigger boost when models move within 8 using stealth? It looks like equipment ignores stealth: "Stealth, Sixth Sense and Deployable Equipment This Special Skill is not effective against troopers with the Sixth Sense Special Skill nor, for obvious reasons, against Deployable Weapons or Equipment (Mines, E/Maulers..." For some reason I thought that stealth denial of an aro (out of lof) trumped, but I'm not finding convincing support in the wiki. Thanks!
That's really the Crux of the issue. If perimeter weapons ignore stealth (they are deployables) then the stealthed model still generates an aro?
An ARO is generated because the Trooper moved within ZoC of a Deployable Weapon or Equipment, in the same way an ARO would be generated by moving within ZoC of a Trooper with 6th Sense. Stealth has no effect on either of these.
Also note that FAQ responses refer to both mines and crazy koalas together when speaking about the rules for Deployable.
no idea, There are Pros and cons of either side of the ruling that results in certain tactics and units allowing you to job the opponent.
What is unclear? Stealth doesn't apply to deployables, you move a stealthed dude in range of a deployable, it goes off.
Whether or not the oyori is a valid target when the koala triggers the aro. Thats the entire crux of the argument @Spleen or @inane.imp can go into more detail about 2 example scenarios that skew things depending on which way you rule that
That's not what is being discussed. The OP is asking about CrazyKoalas reacting to a Stealth model, not whether CrazyKoalas trigger AROs. For a specific example, the O-Yoroi and CrazyKoalas are in the reactive turn and a Morlock walks up behind a wall, using Stealth. Because Stealth doesn't work against Deployables, the CrazyKoalas trigger, and Boost at the Morlock. The O-Yoroi wouldn't get to react to the Morlock's movement because of Stealth.
Apparently you were talking about a different discussion of which I'm not a part. I'm talking about this thread. :P
