[EN] After a month with just one release (yes, one big box with lot of minis, but just one... ok, and a book, also a book), we have a month with "usual" releases (2 boxes + 3 blisters and a repack) so we have a poll to do. Let's go: (By the way, if you are good with miniature conversions take a look to this competition here) ------------- [ES] Después de un mes con sólo una novedad (sí, una caja gorda con muchas minis, pero sólo una... bueno, y un libro, también un libro, mimimimimi), tenemos un mes con una salida "normal" de novedades (2 cajas, 3 blisters y un reempaquetado), así que procedamos con la votación: (@Latxintxa chacho, como te he visto ahí a tope con el concurso de conversiones me he puesto yo con la votación, echadle un ojo al concurso aquí que puede estar muy guapo) Family pic: Caledonian Mormaers (AP HMG) - Sculpted by Fausto Gutiérrez/Painted by Studio Giraldez: Hakims, Special Medical Assistance Group - Sculpted by José Luis Roig (Hakims) & Antonio Moreira (Nasmats)/Painted by Studio Giraldez: Zoe & Pi-Well, Special Clockmakers Team (Engineer & Remote) - Sculpted by Antonio Moreira/Painted by Studio Giraldez: Tankō Zensenbutai - Sculpted by Javier Ureña/Painted by Studio Giraldez: Father-Officer Gabriele De Fersen (Hacker) - Sculpted by Antonio Moreira/Painted by Studio Giraldez:
- The Moarmer is not bad, but with the shield in the wrong arm. - The Hakims are nice, but both models are almost identical. I would have loved it if it were a single blister with a single model, but as a box it is boring. - Zoe is just awesome. Pi not so much, but it's OK. - The Tankos are... interesting, but somehow something got lost between the Concept and the final model. It doesn't help that it's nearly impossible to see the masks because the hats are quite big. - Gabriele doesn't belong to this game, but I know some friends that play WH40K; maybe someone will get this model to use as a proxy or a for conversion.
Vaaaale, el ganador de la encuesta se llevará un flamante pin de una ardilla de oro* *No es oro auténtico De nada, a céntimo por click como quedamos ¿no?
Easily the Hakims, although Zoe (not so much Pi-Well), and Gabriele are awesome too, and I quite like the Tanko.
As someone who plays CA, collects JSA and Vanilla Nomads, i still have to give the nod to the Mormaer with HMG. I think that is an awesome mini and the clear winner. Hakims and De Fersen tied for second. I can't express enough how disappointed I am with some of the new JSA sculpts. The Tanko do not do it for me. I'm a huge fan of the culture and aesthetic so maybe my standards are just too high.
I really like all of the sculpts but had to go with the Tanko. The hats grew on me even though I wish you could see Their faces better. Might be a little biased as a JSA player though.
easily the Hakim box is the winner (pre-ordered them) ... though as my main army is Haqq I am totally biased =) the Tanko box is quite cool as well, but I want to get started with my JSA and Ikari stuff that I currently have, before ordering them ... so clearly second Zoe, Pi-Well and the Mormaer are tied for third (cool sculpts, but not 'would -me-want-to-play-the-army-cool' ... like the Tunguska-stuff that will be the start of yet another army for me) I built and painted a Father-Knight as a De Fersen proxy for my PanO-buddy ... and I am quite satisfied to see that he will still get used after the re-sculpt, since my buddy and I agree: don't like the De Fersen re-sculpt
As much as I dislike the plate-hat from the ML-guy, I vote for the Tankos. I like look in general and the poses ... and I am a bit in for the new JSA Models. Second Place would go to Zoe and Pi - very good resculpt. I like the tough look on her and the details. She look as she could go over to corregidor, because there are the bad ass gals ;-) Third is the Mormaer. Cool look, cool pose. Not as good as the highlander two month before, but good. De Fersen - I realy dislike the new sculpt. That happens very rarely with CB Minis, but this is a 40 K Mini - I don´t like the look - he could be the brother of a Ultramarine Psiker, thats not good for Infinity. If I ever need him (maybe to form a 5 strong link), I try to get the old one or take a Father Knigth as proxy. The Hakims look very unspectacular for me. Nothing special. Resculpt of the Nasmats are okay, but I think not necessary.
I find it amusing that, in spite of all the hate to the Tankou design, they are currently winning the poll ;) Personally, I went with Zoe. I am biased here, but I do love the look. I'd put the Tankou #2, as they are a pretty cool look, and I feel the rest are about equal.
Tanko Zensenbutai nicely represent their fluff with the modular/scavenged/piecemeal armour, plus samurai travelling hats are badass!
I also had problems with the Dorayaki... I mean, Daiyokai; the pieces fit vey bad and there are lots of gaps.
