Not necessarily. For example, the Haris for the Odalisques turned up half a year before Campaign: Paradiso. Frack, a very recent example - the new Druze and the Brawlers (and whatever else new was there for Druze Bayram Sectorial) had profiles available last December, didn't they? And the main book release is still to happen...).
Okay, so nothing special, neither something new. Good, topic resolved;) Then back to waiting for the profiles.
Probably they just had everything ready to go for the Hakims and therefore hey, nothing else in the schedule for Haqq, let's slot them in. I quite like that they sometimes just release new troop types. It's cool.
I like that too. Getting something new, now and then keeps me a lot more excited. Imho they could completely forego the big book releases of new units and make it a true living rulebook. Then they could also rebalance profiles on the fly.
But it would mean doing away with the fluff and art, since they are released only in the hardcopy edition. And I must say - I like having a physical fluffbook on my shelf (though I admit, if it was "the rules are avaialble in the digital form only, and the fluff in the dead-tree form only", I would likely find it difficult to justify buying just the fluff-book). ;) and apart from that, I believe that, for fluff and art, Stan Lee's comment on comic books holds especially true: "Comic books are like titties. Sure they do look great on screen, but it just isn't the same as feeling them in your hand" ;)
I am not talking about the fluff books, those I like a lot. I am talking about: On the rules I am split, because I like sitting there with the book in my hand and read something once not from a screen. But on the other hand it would be so much more practical in digital form, where typos, rules FAQs can be edited and added easily.
Whatever it is, this marketing tactic of releasing the sculpt first while we froth over ourselves trying to anticipate what the actual profiles are, is awesome. At this rate, the Hakims better be released with this trait: Cures Cancer
From looking at the render, I just realised, they have visormasks sculpted instead of a tranluscent one. Doesnt have to mean anything, but you never know...
I am impatiently waiting for their profile to be releaaaaaaaaased. Gesendet von meinem SM-J500FN mit Tapatalk
Good call. Probably means they are going to be MSV3 Religious Veteran Akbar Doctor Engineers with ODD and monofilament pistols. Anything less is just a wasted opportunity!
around 20-22pts would be perfect for me. Doubt they'll have many frills, but ADL2 and Doctor+ is more than good enough. V: Courage would be nice too, as these are guys who jump out of transport ships to parachute into warzones where casualties are already mounting up beyond the immediate medical capability of the local forces, to pull injured troops out of heavy fire. I think to do that requires some serious testicular/ovarian fortitude
Any chances we'll get a bio-medical enhancement like regeneration or auto-medkit? I can see some cool rules being thrown on to fit in with the whole "super-soldier" thing. I do think this would make them over-costed in an already pricey sectorial, however.
I think these are the guys that come in to get the super soldiers back in the fight, rather than the super soldiers themselves.
I have a feeling that the "Super Soldier" thing can be an important part of all the sectorial, even Hakims ;) They look a bit like Djanbazans, and it can mean something. The cost is the thing that makes me kind of unsure how they will compare to our normal doctors and other specialists, that can start the game upfield. I hope we will all see the profiles in near future. PozdRawiam / Greetings
I think both of your thoughts are equally valid @colbrook and @KedzioR_vo I think three things will be very important for the Hakim. 1. They should fit into Ramah's aesthetic (super-soldiers, bleeding edge bio-mods) 2. They need to be more or less expensive than Tauregs. I really like the Taureg and feel like one should not over-shadow the other. 3. Really a subpoint of 2, each unit in Ramah should complement the others. CB usually does a great job at this, but the last thing I want to do is end up with more models I rarely play. (Looking at you zhayedan). Bonus points if CB achieves all this in vanilla.
