Insane pieces of art. You can be proud of your work and collection. Your talent to combine colors is awesome mate.
Beautiful minis, I love your style and color choices. Very inspiring, thank you for sharing all these pictures!
Thanks for all your kind words, I really appreciate it. I'm happy to share and even more so if I inspire. Thank you! Talent maybe, but also hard work - I studied color design for several years in college, and it was demanding Thank you also. Actually I'm working on some workshops and tutorials because I get questions asked several times just locally. If there are news on this I'll let you know. But please, feel free to ask, I'm happy to share and like to help if I can.
I've troubles to paint asian skin tone if you could tell us what vallejo colors did you use for motoko face for exemple it would be great !
Of course. As I experiment with different skin tones my approach varies. For female japanese skin tones I often use a mix of Medium Flesh 70.860 and Iraqi Sand 70.819, mostly 50/50 but varying. Then I wash it with a mix of Tan Earth70.874 and Brown Rose 70.803, often with the help of Army Painter's Quick Shade Medium. For the first highlight I used Iraqi Sand and in some instances a mix of Iraqi Sand with Light Flesh70.928 or just Light Flesh, depending on the level of detail. For the final highlights on the tip of the nose or the top of the cheek bones nearest to the light I use Ivory 70.918. For additional shading I use colors only to be found in the Vallejo/Nocturna sets "Malefic Flesh" and "Fairy Flesh". To my knowledge these colors are unfortunately not sold seperately. For a warmer shadow I use Burned Flesh 74.002 or Purple Shadow 74.011, for a cooler impression I go for Nocturna Shadow 74.001. Sometimes I use both shadow colors, either on the opposite side of the face/body part. I tend to keep these shadows sublime, but I experiment with a more colorful impression. For males I tend to keep the skin a bit darker, using Chocolate Brown 70.972 or Tan Earth for the first shading, or a mix of both. I never follow exact recipes for mixing, it varies a lot. Whatever suits me in that moment. I hope that helps you.
so nice to c your butt - quouting Battman to Barbara Gordon dialogue :) new moderators looks a b it "newer" are ther more current minis ??
My aproach of painting is a bit chaotic, I'll only work on that mini I'd like to at that moment. Currently I have several minis approaching the finish line -- two Riot Grrrls, the Brawler Engineer, one of the new Keisotsus and the Kaizoku. In the queue are waiting Scarface and Cordelia, the Anaconda, Emily Handleman, the rest of the JSA-box, a Taskmaster and his Bots, the Morlocks, the Überfallkommando, the rest of the Moderators and some conversions, Maybe X-Mas everything is completed
Haha, stop kidding yourself. On Christmas you will start painting Tunguska or Acontecimento while the pile of shame has grown by another foot. And it's still going to be glorious!
As I know myself I will start painting the Tunguska Starter IMMEDIATELY when it arrives. And I forgot to mention the Szalamandra, who will overtake the rest, because it is finished to 75%.
You are one of my greatest inspiration, kind sir. Salute for the cleanness and color choice. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Thx alot I've just buy those :p i will try that on my motoko soon ! but my local store doesn't have the 74 ones is that also a special set ?
Your color choice on the Riot Grrl makes her actually look punk rock, enough to live up to the reputation of the unit. One of the only paintjobs I've seen that has done that. Also, that eyeshadow is so well done. The whole thing looks clean and vibrant, yet also like someone you do NOT want to f-k with. Really great work. Yolandi would be proud!
