General Aoi was a Shasvastii infiltrator, who launched a bloody conflict to conceal her alien nature. This Uprising was a devastatingly successful operation by the forces of the Combined Army, weakening the Human Sphere at every instance, the supposed desire for 'independence' in the Japanese population falsified by alien agents. Its suppression was vital to the survival of Humanity, and any power which backed it has abrogated all claim to leadership in the defense of the Human Sphere. Yu Jing and Yu Jing alone stands firm defending humanity against the alien menace. This is the only possible interpretation of the book. Any who assert some differing interpretation are also Shasvastii infiltrators.
Just making the point that they’ve used a particular strategy in the past and had success makes it likely they’d continue to use it... but, hey, you do you and continue to believe your judgement is best in all cases... of course, evidence of you creating or building anything is thin gruel... of course, your capacity to sling slurs and slanders rather than engage honestly never ceases to amaze...
Well, if you had 1 million of them typing for 1 millions years... ...they still could not produce *prose* comparable to a certain someone's at CB. They may accidentally type Hamlet though. Strongly strongly strongly, typee the rage monkey.
This is strongly toeing the line of being unnecessarily insulting about people or their work. I'd ask you guys reflect on why you're saying these things and if it is truely productive or fair.
Nah it's a fair comment to say that the Uprising Storytelling and an Imperial Service that is anything but bestial and incompetent are mutually exclusive.
While I empathize with upset players (I'm a Yu Jing player) I do think things have gotten out of hand, and people have gotten... too determined to attack CB on this. Even when sane explanations and discussions are offered, they are laughed off, and the constant insults toward CB and the setting are growing grating. Feel free to carry on, but just understand that fellow YJ players are growing weary of the hyperbolic vitriol. Yes, what happened in Uprising had issues, though my concerns were primarily focused on new players and needing to make sure people didn't buy items for YJ when they were now JSA units. What I've heard from players with the book actually makes me interested in playing both JSA and YJ going forward - I want to play as JSA soldiers forced to join the uprising because the Kuge started it, and they had no choice but go along, as YJ would never trust them again, and playing IA soldiers who were defending against the CA and feel betrayed by the human sphere... both of them will be cool angles and I think the sculpts, the lore, and the rules, are all still interesting if you are willing to engage. Obviously, you don't have to, but if your goal is to be miserable, I can't help you. I'd like to have fun, that's why I bought Red Veil and said 'hey these terracotta warriors look like fun'. EDIT: Also, I've studied a lot of history and literature, in academia. The number of people who think they are high authorities on 'good storytelling' is far higher than the actual number. It's very easy to criticize, and very hard to create. I've worked with some very prolific authors, and one thing I noticed was that they didn't spend much time belittling the work of others.
I have but one like to give. I am really excited to get my yu jing on the table for the coming campaign. Maybe redeem ourselves amongst the humansphere (and fellow players it seems).
The only real mistake imo was how they split JSA. They should have timed the JSA split to coincide with the next Yu Jing Sectorial. This way it is literally impossible not to upset people. At the very least the next sectorial should be Yu Jing. It was pretty sloppy and they must have known.
It would have been sensible but I think to people who never played Yu Jing it would look like two massive Yu Jing releases.
Totally agree with Fyeya on this. I ordered my first Yu Jing models about a week before they announced what the uprising is about and if anything it had me more engaged with Yu Jing and playing thw faction in the new campaign and in a time if crisis. The only thing that is setting me off a little is the hate in these threads. Imagine a new player interested in Yu Jing because he loves the models (like I do) visits the forums and all he sees is...well. Gesendet von meinem SM-J500FN mit Tapatalk
There was an acceptable behavior quickly established when the forums got switched over. Yu Jing didn't need Uprising to keep me out. The only reason I'm even over here is to shitpost.
This was never acceptable behavior and I've posted on all three infinity forums. You do realize that shitposting here isn't punishing CB, its just mostly annoying to other Yu Jing fans. As a non Yu Jing player, uprising has inspired me to start collecting Yu Jing. So no, I don't think its poor writing or somehow a one sided hate fest on Yu Jing.
I don't think they should worry as much about jealous people. Really? I only pop in to here or PanO now and again for a while now because it's been this way. Maybe I was hallucinating and it caught up with me.
