I'm sure this has been answered before, but, does being unconscious involuntarily cancel the engaged state?

The wiki and FAQ says "CAN". can my ninja simply choose to not be disengaged with an unconscious model, forcing a -12 to hit him on reactive turn?

if this is the case, who "Chooses" to be disengaged? is this a translation error or kink?
is this the intended way the rules interact, to make CC units a little safer on reactive turns?

yes, you choose at the moment your opponent goes UNC whether or not you are engaged with him. if you choose not to be you "move" fractionally away from B2B and may be shot but get to react as appropriate.

If you choose to be, you remain in B2B and suffer the limitations of the Engaged state (IE no LOF outside of the engaged troopers ect)

Did they ever clarify that technically per the FAQ only the active player has this option?

can you point me in the direction of where they said that the reactive player also gets this choice?

    Faq page 4.

    • At the Conclusion of an Order, the Engaged state can be cancelled when all of a trooper’s adversaries are in Null or Immobilized state. When this happens, the trooper’s player must decide whether to keep the Engaged state, or cancel it by separating the trooper by 1mm from the adversaries. The remaining trooper can then declare Move (But following the structure of the Order) to separate from the adversary and to cancel the Engaged state.

ah, thank you, the wiki still has reference to the older 1.2 FAQ text, shouldn't have assumed it was still correct

Its fair to assume it's correct as that is its purpose. Ijw is asking clarifying questions as something came up (If i recall correctly)
