If short term goals equal 1-2 game sessions/missions, then does that mean that mid-term is 3-4 sessions & long term is 5-6?
I don't shy from talking about religion, violence or sex. So whatever conversion pops up in the game sessions I'll engage in. Very true. Laughter is a great medicine for life's woes.
Will say that "Short-Term" personal objectives of a Character could involve between 1 to 3 Game Sessions (as "Part-Time" Sideline Plots, they could be TOTALLY unrelated to the Main Mission of the Squad !!) and that with appropriate Roleplaying could allow +1 or even +2 Extra Momentum Points to be allocated TOWARDS Actions that favours the Objective, OR by in converse "Burn" some Heat Points of the G.M. Pool (the "Heat Mechanic" as I understand it is NOT only "Increased Security Response" from the Enemies, but also "Mounting Stress" from the Character, so essentially a P.C. following an Objective resolution will "Detox from Nasty Combat Stress" and act more Coolly and with better % of Success !!). . . "Middle-Term" Objectives could be explored and resolved in the "Timebreaks" between 4 to 6 Sessions, but Multiple Onjectives of any Terms could be faced and advanced with just some Players' choices and clever Phrasing during R.P.G. Interactions; these could "Grant" till 3+ Momentum Points or even a precious, rare "Infinity Point" for a truly momentous achievement. . . "Long Term" Objectives could be reached and achieved even on MORE than 10 Game Sessions, but it depends on many "Personalized Custom Factors"; an Hated Enemy could be vanquished, its Cube recovered, Back-Up Clone destroyed and "Main Base" exploded in a SINGLE "Final Battle" Session, BUT a "Romance Seduction, culminating in official Bethrothal and Wedding of a very difficult Suitable Spouse" or the "Ruining of the Political Career of a Pan-O Lobbyist / Yujing Party Member / Tunguskan Mobster Padrino-Godfather" could be quite lenghty in resolution. . . Lot's a related Momentum Points and even "Regeneration" of 2 or EVEN 3 Infinity Points spent to achieve meaningful Effects towards the resolution of the desired Objective (especially if with a clever "In-Character Roleplay" and very Good Rolls !!). . . The "Reward Mechanic" is an idea of purporting the Fate Points from Fate or the more "Vintage" Willpower Points for Success of the venerable White Wolf Games kind of "Mind's Eye Theatre" stuff (Vampire the Masquerade, Werewolf the Apocalypse, Mage the Ascension and so on; that culminated in "Exalted" the Fantasy-Manga Superhero Game where "In-Character Fate Points" were the actual "Magic Mana Juice" of their weird power); it is JUST an Idea that could be cool to have and is TOTALLY UNRELATED to the effective "Material Gains" of a Character (Mission Accomplished Paycheck, Recovered Loot, Acquired Gear) !!
So, I believe we made role call, and most of us updated goals. I think we are good for start aren't we? Unless we can fiddle a bit more with Ariadna supplement...
I'll just toss mine here. Let me know if you need elaboration. Short Term: - Formally introduce self to resident Khanate - Establish an understanding of the Khan's vision - Prove my ability to contribute uniquely to the party and the Company Mid: - Develop a firm grasp of my new environment *Know it like I know Gabqar - Prioritize upgrades to personal vehicle, equipment, and bio-modifications to ensure survival above all else Long: - Survive: It's who I am - Prove self as invaluable resource to the local Khanate - Perfect my body and mind: become the perfect soldier
Think that we are good for preparing the Start. . . Will start to write Tomorrow some introductive posts to which ANY Character (regardless of % of "Final Optimization") could then react in their own way. . .
O.K. Yet preparing some Introduction Stuff for the New In-Game Thread that I will open later (and that will be reserved for In-Character Roleplay and also to keep score of the Dice Rollers Results, along with Tactical Maps and Descriptive Images) while this very one will be still employed for "Long Term Planning" and "Background Questions". . . Just to ask: Do You want ALL a "Personalized Custom" Character Introduction of Place / Time and Presence of "Important N.P.C." before the "Player Character ASSEMBLE !!" kind of Starting Post. . .?? Or is best to start with the Description of the Orbital Shuttle (with on board the characters of @inane.imp and @Danger Rose ) and the approach to Dawn Atmospherical Re-Entry and the Flight towards New Knossos island. . . . .and THEN the description of the "Tarmac Airlane" with the Yet-Present Crew (so @loricus , @oldGregg , @Beodren and @Golem2God ) amongst the "Welcome Committee" of Officer Corps come to greet the two new "Recruits" (along with the Shuttle Cargo Hold FULL of precious "T.A.G. Spare Parts"). . .?? Let Me know what do You like more as a Start. . . . .???
I'm easy. There's enough things to do with getting squared away before we get called in for our first mission briefing.
I'm with @inane.imp Amastan is just along for the ride. I'll be happy with however you lead the game.
@stevenart74 As much as personal introduction would be pure spoiling us I agree with Rose, go with what comes easier for you.
A little something I wanted to share with the group before posting it at the Conversions thread: [WIP] Dreanna Farabella: Mov: 4-4 CC: 20 BS: 14 PH: 14 WILL: 12 ARM: 2 BTS: 0 W: 1 S: 2 Equipment: Multi-Spectral Visor 1 Special Skills: Pilot Weapons: Vulkan Shotgun, D-Charge, Knife I have found new Long Range Goals for her: - To raise her Willpower to Nomad Levels ( T-T I don't want her to be comparable to a PanO Trauma Doc, I've seen them in action.) - To add Climbing Plus and Zero-G to her Special Skills.
Great job it really looks like her. I guess I could do something to bring Uja'rak to life as well. If only I could find a cheap Daturazi mini or box since the 4 I currently have are painted to be someone else.
O.K. Working on writing the Introductory Posts for the New Game Thread that I will open up as soon as some constraining issues about Family / Jobs stop bothering Me. . . Thinking also to start some Rough Illustrations and Graphic Works to help description, but if those take too much time to develo, then I will put them on the backburner and favour just Descriptive Text for the moment. . . Also feel free to suggest some "Starting Leads" that Your Characters are maybe yet pursuing to further their Goals, in addition to the Things that You ALL have yet started to describe. . . For the moment, Work-In-Progress. . . . .!!!
I was going to say. I have my character's opening ready. It's basically Echo warning Dreanna not to screw up this job opportunity and to get her an Arachne Connection ASAP or suffer dire consequences.
I think Alistair would be very much focused on training at the start, looking to master the new graft before getting back into action. He may even go as far as take part in sparring, looking to prove himself.
I can see this happening very early on - it is my first appointment after reaching Dawn. These will be my ongoing priorities through any down time. The sooner I can start on them, the happier I'll be.
Hmmm. I think Dreanna would volunteer for such a challenge. Local muscled guy, looking for a fight (even a mock one) would be a nice way for her to make sure to her new co-workers she was not a delicate flower in need of pampering or protection.
