We all have them, that one unit we love to Rambo with across the board in blood crazed slaughter. If you can't tell by my name mine is the Anathemantic and the KKRAKOT. What are some of yours?
I wanted to choose Avatar and Anathematic but in reality... I take Q-drone in every list and he's amazing. Shock HMG on 14 is just great.
Sphinx is too obvious, but for a good reason. Been enjoying a spitfire Samaritan lately. Has a decent target number with pretty much any roll I wanna make.
If I'm gonna rambo, either the Q-drone with plasma or a Haris of Yaogats with 2 Combi/Panzerfausts and a Spitfire.
Q-Drone is useful but it's not my favorite. My favorite is the Shotgun Oznat on a hungry link. Sweet mother of the EI, that chick is a murder monster :D
I have a few favourites profiles as a Rambo CA profiles, but in general as a solo hunters ill take this. With high or minium 14BS+ and/or special tricks. That's are my fav units&profiles. **IE specialized aspect. Anathematic Hacker: expensive&complete IE unit profile. Strong hacker using fairy dust on himself, easy run to do objectives and very dangerous warhack games combo with EVO. TOmarker+plasma rifle on expansive mode... That's a complete beast. 1.Easy machine plays. Qdrone: cheap&quick, easy access on all CA armies. Sphinx: expensive but quick&deadly TAG. 2.AD troops specialized play. Fraacta Spitfire: bringing on a deploy side and burst all orders to clean enemy side without cover. Expensive&tactical droptroop but you have 2 wounds. Ko Dali: like fraacta, but msv2 and 5 dices on 17s on your range. Rasyat: mix of fraacta+ko, cheap&CCmonster hunter killer with D-charges+ecplise grenades and boarding shootgun. **Basic Yolo-run fireteam. Hungries party: cheap&quick of 5 basic CCmonsters on 40points&5 orders farm in MAF. Vulkan fire shootgun and DA CCW on Oznat with smoke grenades, just go to flank and kill all things with vulkan+smoke+CC on fireteam bonus with all hungries.
As an Onyx player, it's the Sphinx for me. As long as you keep it away from CC units and hackers, it's glorious.
I love rambo-ing with an anthematic or Ko-dali. But, there is only one Rambo in combined, Sphinx.! Spoiler: Profanity My opponents yelling, I'm tired of these mother F'n Sphinx on my mother F'n table! Don't forget with Ko Dali you get protherion for Om nom, nom and multiple wound gains.
weirdly my best rambo successes have been K1 combi Xeodrons, but, it is highly dependent on having a terrain advantage. (I will say I have had a spectacular failure as well - triple 17s from a Yan Huo HRMC in -3 band)
Ko Dali, Kerr-Nau, Charontid, Red Fury Xeodron. Surprisingly, the humble Ikadron when he refuses to fail ARM saves.
Sheskiin, always Sheskiin. Also immortal Gakis or Pretas are great rambos. Maligno and Shrouded with Boarding Shotguns are great. Ko Dali has failed me every time, so I'm putting her away until I can find an exorcist.
You can Rambo with Oznat/Hungries? I just park mine at the back in a primarily cheerleading role. Don't get me wrong, compared to 'Three Fusiliers With Backs To The Wall' they provide outstanding back-field defence to the extent that opportunistic Tiger Soldiers in my locale have learned to think twice about dropping in. But going Rambo is not something I’ve seen a means or opportunity for; is it worth cross-posting to a new thread?
Sheskiin top tip number 1: you need to eat someone. You really need to eat someone as ASAP. Find a skirmisher, eat him up, get to 3 wounds. Also always keep three orders to retreat to safety and a support structure to protect ger.
The only true Rambo unit I use is the Kornak + 2 Sogorats link, which is disqualified by virtue of not being a single unit, obviously. However ... if a little re-phrasing of the question might be allowed, I could point out that being Specialist-free, it has very little functionality beyond yomping up the table, destroying everything in it's path, camping the objective and tartly remarking "They took first blood, not me" Spoiler: They Drew First Blood
