I have been wanting this for awhile with the way the new Caledonia starter came out, it's my most used profile for the 3rd Highlander Grey and I am so happy to get the two poses that both look really good. Makes me want to put my CHA on the table.

I think that swords in this troop shouldn't be sculpted. They are pretty much useless.

And I spected a whole box to complete fireteam. I ask myself what are CB going to do (and I'm not taking in count the overcost of the 2 extra arms...)

Despite of above, I like miniature. Specially swordless one.

The sword version is totally conversion bait. Swap the hmg out for a pistol or a gesticulating hand as a proxy for whatever profile you need today, or just jam a rifle or light shotgun in his mitts as an alternative model for the rifles...

Looking good. I hope we see more of these dual-pose configurations for other releases. I don't mind the sword terribly, since I see it as being a badge of station rather than a practical weapon for fighting. But yes, as mentioned, looks like it can easily be swapped for something else.

He reminds me a lot of the classic comic drawings of Dum-Dum Dugan, from the Howling Commandos...

*Looks at new Swiss that doesn't even has that alternative pose or weapon*

Tbh this approach isn't bad, considering that there's a mixed link which looks more useful.

Honestly, I am just looking for to not having to do a two handed weapon so bring on the sword!

I can see where you are coming from. But I personally would rather go through it to get a model in a more sensible (imo) pose.

One could argue that 112 shouldn't have sculpted axe either then. Yet, how much more character it gives to the model.

well... the 112 is "disaster relief", with an fireman's axe, not a "CC weapon"... You could say that from Van Zant, though :p

I really like the old model and don't understand why they made a new one.

Because the older models are all a bit smaller than the last 2/3 years of releases, just enough to look out of place.

Honestly I think old Ariadna minis didn't age well.

Some are passable, I like to think my volunteer rifleman is just short, but some, the original Minuteman or the bedsheet clad dogfaces for instance, are best left behind as soon as possible...
