No reasonable person would consider the "You can't run these models as what they are anymore, but you can proxy them as whatever you want!" argument as one worth having. If you are arguing for that you're arguing in bad faith. I buy minis to run them in a game; if CB retroactively makes them unplayable, especially at short notice, I lose value. The rules attached to the different minis *are important*. That's why I actually bought into a second faction instead of just proxying everything with CA minis. Or do you just proxy everything instead of buying new ones?
No mini was made unplayable. All of them, including Raidens and Haramakis, can be used in NA2 JSA. If a player doesn't want to play it it's his decision, not CBs. Just because you don't like the solutions doesn't mean there's none. I do get the problems people have with the whole change. I really do. And CB could handle it a lot better. But blowing this whole thing out of proportions is hardly a reasonable response.
Not 'all', but the numbers support a large majority of JSA models going to people who use them in JSA rather than generic Yu Jing, because last ITS season saw 466 YJ players and 266 JSA players. Please note that I'm commenting purely on numbers we've been given for the usage of JSA units in generic YJ and the relative popularity of YJ vs JSA, I'm not commenting on CB's handling of the situation or how players feel about it.
There aren't players in here, there are customers. Customers which right to use what they bought has been changed (removed for many of us) without any previous communication. Many of us don't want to play JSA with its heavy limitations and marked playstyle, many of us can't even line up a JSA list . None of us can't play any longer YJ the way it was when we decided to start collecting it (many of us chosen YJ precisely because what it was). If tomorrow CB replaces the rules book for a couple pages you won't be able yo say you can't play any longer, but actually you won't be able to play it the way you intended when you started collecting Infinity.
*sigh* for the last time, you can still run them as what they are, in JSA. See, you either have a. enough of them to make a JSA list and then, you have no problem, your model is still useable b. you don't have enough of them to make a JSA list, and then they are reasonably few of them that using them as proxies will not hurt gameplay too much Also, cute on trying to turn the bad faith thing around while I have always been straightforward and you pulled strawman bullshit like your post above.
Again; all that changed is the way you can use your minis. "Not playing your models the way you intended" is a different thing than "not having a way to play them at all". And it's players, not CB, who makes the decision here. When edition changes and stuff gets nerfed/buffed/repurposed altogether it also changes the way you can play with your toys. It doesn't limit any rights you might have as a customer. People who played with Exrah really had the way to play them taken away completely. This situation is different, and no amount of twisting it will change that.
It's an interesting question, and you can extend it to players that switch between multiple unconnected armies, but in all likely hood you probably just count as 1 in each...
Look back through my posts here. I conceded that and the shikami release as mistakes and genuine problems.
Or you can play them in JSA. Tbh the best solution there would be to give YuJing bikes with the aragoto profile under a new name (I suggest Hundun Erzi which is the best translation I can find for sons of anarchy ...)
Ok, I`ll be constructive enough. I don`t see anywhere in blister/box description that "this miniature is intended to be used this particular way". Neither rules doesn`t content this mention. And profiles (being separate entity) can be changed anytime in any way because it`s located at Downloads section of website. So there are two options: 1) Play game whatever you want if it`s ok to your opponent. 2) Bow to rules of organized play and play in an event. It`s completely your decision . As for false advertisement you could always choose long way of moral compensation lawsuit and I`m sure other players would welcome game company finance struggle because of it. Yeah, like fifth candy to screaming child. You know, I want bikes in other factions too, from like 2005. Give me bike in any faction because I`ve bought a box with two minis.
No, the customers purchase was previous to this change. It was CB who decided to change how that minis could be used , not the customers. When editions changes, it changes for all of us and is meant to be a similar game, otherwise people get mad and they are right, like WHF players. The YJ non JSA players rights have been deleted, the YJ and JSA players rights have been limited , only the pure JSA players rights can be considered untouched or improved. Any other wording is just and plain lying. And we don't care about changing this, we are 100% aware that there is no roll back. We just complain when we are being fuc*ed, like anybody else being fuc*ed in any other situation. We won't make this any easy to CB.
The rules allow you to proxy figurines as anything, arguing about that, however, and you're also arguing that the miniatures themselves don't really matter and that the JSA release might as well be used as the long-awaited massive Tohaa box. Which I don't think anyone is arguing. As for "miniature is meant to be used in particular way" I think you need to look at the blister's card or the box art a bit closer, here's an older Hac Tao that doesn't only specify that the miniature is meant for Yu Jing, but as a Hac Tao with Multi Rifle and a Shock CCW: Fairly specific, to be honest. Profiles being located in the Download section doesn't mean that a model can be changed at any point and anytime all willy nilly, but at the same time it is true that they are not set in stone - but there's a difference between changing a special rule or a point of BS and changing the faction in which it can be used. But that's kind of immaterial since the biggest issue isn't really that JSA has split off, but how the split was conducted and communicated. And I think in the long run the best way to help people get over it is to stop harping about them to get over it. Think of it this way; ever "helped" a friend get over the loss of a pet by constantly asking said friend if they were over the loss for a month straight and telling them to stop being sad because Roofus died because there are other dogs out there? Did that actually help them? No, so let's get over it together and start talking about possibilities instead of trying to prove people who are upset about what was done to their collection wrong?
So with that kind of thinking process in mind, why should i buy anything from CB? I can use my Yu Jing to proxy ALL ARMIES!! Isn't that great? Can't wait for the next tournament when i show up with my Chinese guys but they are actually Tohaa, or Steel Phalanx, or CA, or Ultramarines...
If you can`t be on same page with another human being you can`t play two player game))) About blister package - point taken. All I can hope is that this outcry doesn`t sink Corvus Belli, but apparently a lot of people don`t care at all. About pet - it`s just rude to make such comparisons. Person should be mental to treat $12 toy soldier in exact same way as beloved pet. Don`t do it.
You are right, you ought nothing. Except of fact that tournament organizer has his own rights to allow/deny models. And that to play with another person this person should be willing enough to play with you. But yeah, you ought nothing.
So are you telling me i can't use JSA models as proxies unless other people let me? Or weren't you telling me i can? Omg, it's almost as if CB invalidated my purchases
What? Read again. And reliance on game company to made other people play with you - it`s a good one))
