That pretty much exactly where I was going. Not sure what you are getting at with the G: synch comment though as the rules are pretty explicit.
I think it is unlikely a datatracker can reach the console alive to destroy it. The chimera then is backup plan. Unless maybe if you infiltrate Bran do without marker state for the whole game. Because even having a specialist grab a D-Charge from the panoplies located on the sides of the board is 2 orders to place+blow and then it take 3 dices needing 11+ to save. Another 2 order to repeat the process. -OR- the chimera clear the way, throw eclipse smoke, does some initial damage but just not enough, if lucky (it is ARM8 and requires 4 structural damage to bring to Destroyed/Dead state, STR 0 is only Unconscious), and then the datatracker spend 6 orders (a rough personal estimates - between failing his CC attacks, and the Antenna passing its ARM roll) to finish it.
That's my thought. Probably Taskmaster for the DataTracker with CC19 and Dam 17 after MA1 The extra Burst if the Uberfall are still engaged would make a difference too
So now I have Lizard. How do you guys use HGL? 14+orders to fuel? Meteor to target important vulnerable targets? Zero FO? Pi Well? Zero DepRep + Custodier?
if i recall previous calculation i did in the past, my conclusion was that for any order spent on trying to spotlight you might as well have shot a second time. 2 orders on BS8 B1 ftf with dodge is better than 1 order on spotlight WIP10 (zero fo) ftf with Reset followed by 1 order on BS17 B1 ftf with dodge. Not counting orders spend on moving the zero fo. therefore the way i use it, is to use it as a normal Multi HMG TAG, with that +0.5SWC paid for HGL only used if a situation happen where it would be a good tool. I also considered moderator pitcher (or custodier pitcher) + custodier spotlight. Never thought of Zero DepRep + Custodier, i forgot that loadout. I don't have pi-well. I started using Meteor a couple of time (not with lizard), and i still need to get used to AD. Although with HGL his task would move from AD Combi to AD Repeater/FO.
Give it a full order group. It's a good fork - guys can hide out and get blasted with the HGL or separate and get picked off by the Multi-HMG. This works best when you go first. The best way to target people seems to be the Zero FO, who can be powered out of the second order group. I like FO better than spotlight. Spotlight is safer, but it is also order intensive. The HGL is no guided missile, so it's not worth the setup. The FO can act in 1-2 orders, and if there is no good target he is a perfectly good pick his own right. Pi-well is good at FO'ing things, but he probably won't be able to see the one you'll want for the HGL.
Personally I use it to collect dust on the shelf. But that's not helpful ;) I'd prefer the DepRep + Custodier option (ideally supported by the EVO Salyut) since she's not bad at spotlighting. She brings White Noise and everything you want from a hacker as well. Also, that's an assuption by me, with more Fireteam options present FOing tends to be even riskier due to the fact that any FO will have to get into LOF and therefore has compete with a fireteam's pumped BS. Adding to that problem you moved your troop in LOF thus you're also able to shoot that troop down in the regular way propably saving you future orders. And since we're talking about the EVO Salyut, if you plan to include it anyways take Zoe + Pi-Well. His modified Satlock will make anything of what I wrote before a lot easier.
Don't forget you can split burst with FO so that Zero isn't a terrible option to light up a couple spots. Especially if you can get them into a good position first
Thanks for your replies, I`ll try to compose list next week and see what options are good enough for me. I like idea with MHMG/HGL fork.
Can you use Triangulated Fire with Pi-Well to do B2 on 10s to FO anybody you can see? Being protected by ODD you could place him last staring at whatever needs to die, and then your Lizard could go to town. Bonus points is if they leave one link member as ARO, and you throw grenades on that model and its neighbours until it dies (which gives you at least two shots).
very interesting idea. i'll try it when i eventually have zoe/piwell. You still need to beat their PH dodge roll (with odd/cover they are likely to dodge instead of shooting).
I`ve tried Lizard but haven`t managed to shot HGL at all. Moderators link with two MSR (regular+spec-op) backed by TR bot hold a line of De Fersen + 4 Hospitaliers link killing HMG knight and TO OS sniper in reactive. So Lizard`s MHMG just finished the job slicing remaining resistance. Sarf's list is actually a good example of 'doing this right'. You can easily AD on the Meteor, FO something from behind; or use the Zero to FO with Surprise shot and then re-camo. And then use the OTHER order group to lob HGLs: this makes your HGL a LOT more efficient. It allows you to use orders in the second order group to greatly improve the effectiveness of the first. It's extremely useful for a target you want to put several HGL shots into (a REM or a HI for instance), but less so on something squishy.
Yes, this is a perfectly good list for any mission where you can afford to play passively. Decapitation, Annihilation, Show of Force, Firefight... it's a little weird that the Direct Action missions support that sort of thing the most. If it was me, I'd have one less zero/meteor and a few Morlocks, but that's down to personal style. I'd run this list in a tournament.
Why? Upcoming tournament features 6 XP SpecOps, this is perfect to fit second MRS to link. As far as I`ve tried, twin linked MSRs are really deadly.
Wow, I did not realize you could use triangulated fire with the forward observer ability. This is pretty cool!
