Being a Moon Knight fan, I want Spector. Beyond that I don't care. Having spent the last year playing Onyx, I'm accustomed to not having much in the way of mercs.
Just looking again, I don't see it. She has no black at all, predominantly red with a fair bit of white/grey.
I wouldn't be surprised if Spector was in Tunguska since he is the one of only 3 new units(Brawlers, Arslan) in uprising outside of JSA. He would provide some much needed AD and CC. The Securitate sniper and maybe hacker if they still exist might just keep Sixth Sense lv2 since they were the only profiles that benefited from it. I hope they have access to haris so the skill could still shine in the sectorial. Maybe that's what the Shotgun is for. Looking again at the Hollow Man I'm sure he's not going to be a rem due to carrying a knife. That's unprecedented. Comparing his stature to the other starter units in the line up shows that they're bulkier then most and the model will be as well so they'll stand out as a HI. That and the chest design that's shared with other Nomad HI make me think that they'll be a HI. The specialized HI to complement the Kriza being straight forward.
I also wonder if PI-Well is the basis for what will become puppets. Maybe they'll just have different Heads, skills and equipment. It seems like something CB would do.
The only merc I am really excited about is Uhahu, but, while she does have a connection to Tunguska (which as far as I know is kind of vague), she might invalidate other dedicated hackers. While her stats are a little weaker than the interventor's, she brings a serious assault hacking program which is the only weakness of the HD+, and a pitcher + NWI is something the interventor doesn't have. (That said, if she is in Tunguska, I would still probably also play an interventor lieutenant).
I'm keen. If the rules are decent (no doubt they will be) and the final minis look better than what Bakunin have been getting, I will definitely jump into Tunguska this year! I also mourn the loss of the little hats on the Securitate, but they seem interesting designs. The Hollow Man looks interesting (I am ruling out G:Jumper now; I think G:Remote Presence seems more likely). I thought the Heckler was a Grenzer at first glance (remember the speculation from the Tunguska art that the second Grenzer was not a Grenzer? Perhaps now confirmed?), so it clearly fits snugly.
Eh I dont think uhahu is strictly better than an interventor, that 9bts is really powerful vs other hackers, and there are a fair few programs with shock built in (namely trinity from combined which is the most dangerous and most likely to beat an interventor) Pitchers are nice but can miss unlike fast pandas (though those have way less range) she is also wip 14 vs 15. To me she is an interventor light. nah the background not a grenzers helmet doesn't match, the helmet at back is 2 tone black and red split and featureless unlike grenzers 2 eyes. I think its the combat puppet if anything, or an old hollow men design.
The Hecklers are similarly enough to the Grenzers to feel like part of the same Sectoral while being unique enough to be distinctive, I think. That high collared greatcoat looks awesome. Really curious to see what they do, as this is literally the first we know of them!
Hopefully the many things combined into one less than synergistic package on the old Securitate will get separated out into different options which you can include. So a profile or two with Repeaters (rather than all of them). A profile or two with Shotguns (rather than all of them). A profile or two with Sixth Sense (hopefully including the Hacker, to make it worthwhile outside of a Fireteam). Now THAT would be an awesome unit.
Boarding Shotgun in dossier makes me think that's the shotgun supply for securitates from now on, but hey, Dossiers sometimes don't have the right guns all the time. Missile Launcher beside the Borac, anyone?
In the "Flaming Hot Topic" thread of the "Kempeitai Bad Name" in the Off-Topic English Subforum someone hastily considered the Tunguska Sectorial some sort of "Russian Gangsters Sectorial" but this was a very narrow generalization. . . While Russian "Mafya" with their Vory / Bratya fellows are indeed a big part of the Tunguskan Underground Culture, in the older N1 and N3 Manuals it was clearly statted that is ALL OF THE OLD CRIME FAMILIES of the Human Sphere to have a vested interest in keeping that "Free Offshore Banking" kind of Mothership very intact and functioning. . . There are Oriental Gangs such as not only Triad / Tongs of China (ESPECIALLY after the brutal purges originated on a DIRECT ORDER from the Jade Emperor of Yu-Jing, a fact that transformed the I.S.S. from a bureaucratic apparatus into the lethal "Imperium Inquisition, Cyberpunk-Styled" that is Today in the Infinity-Verse) but also the Yakuza Clans of Nihonjin (very interesting to know how their linked "Corporate Zaibatsu" front companies will fare under the "New Rising Sun") and the "Seoulpa Rings" of Southern Korea. . . There are modern R.W. "White Collar Moneylenders, with Guns" of the Modern Capitalistic Embezzlement going hand-in-hand with the descendants of the "Hillbilly Criminal Families" that cultivate Vegetable Drugs everywhere in the world. . . There are the Big European Crime Families, with IN FUCKING FRONT the thrice-damned FUCKED BASTARDS of the Italian Mafia of "Cosa Nostra" (the Sicilian Criminal Enterprise, BOTH in Old Italy and in New Jersey / Hoboken "Pizza Flavours") along with lesser Italian Crime Families ("Camorra" of Naples that is a sort of "Free-For-All" style of Barrio Gangs such as in Southern America; "Ndrangheta" of Calabria that are still specialized in Kindapping-For-Ransoms and Petty Extortions rather than Drug / Weapon trafficking and the weird "Sacra Corona Unita" of Puglia that mask under a veneer of "Monarchic Nostalgics" their Smuggling Links with Albanian Traffickers). . . There will be Druze Contacts moneywashing their "Blood Diamonds", there will be Yuan-Yuan backed "Fake Shipping Concerns" to resell at premium Stolen Starships and Pirated Goods, there will be even the more absurd "Cyberpunk Criminals" of the Human Sphere going there to cancel traces of their crimes and obtain shiny, spotless Maya Data-Currency. . . . .such as Praxis "Monster Makers" from Bakunin with the funds needed to continue to upgrade their "Nightmare Labs" and Corregidoran "Jaguar Gangs" of South American "Vatos" and Central African "Tsotsis" with the need to resell what was acquired by evil deeds and even weirder stuff such as Pan-Oceanian Hexas creating triple / quintuple "Count Jumps" to wash away the Yujing Patent Pending from some "Liberated Stuff" along with whatever nefarious plans will be concocted by Svengali, the Rogue Artificial Intelligence that is DEDICATED to Crime. . . Honestly Tunguska could be considered "Submondo Faction, The P.R. Face" as it is. . . And don't forget that of all the Troops that We have seen they are the fricking "Crime Family Vault Banks" kind of Guards (and also Privately Contracted Special Response Teams) but with a Paramilitary Background. . . Imagine WHAT kind of "Virtual Bank Heists" are done, daily, in Tunguska to need the mobilitation of Szalamandra T.A.G.s and "Kriza Boracs" Superheavy Infantry Suits, Hollow Men "Cyborg / Drones / Whatever They Are", the fearsome Special Forces that are Grenzers / Hecklers / Spektr and the "Humble" Securitate that from the more recent concept art seems "Suited Plainclothes Cops" that hastily donned an Army Kevlar Suit over their nice "Ties & White Shirt" clothes. . .
Tunguska's criminal underbelly does have some immense room for creativity, yeah. To dismiss it as "Spess Mafiya" would be really lazy. All the stuff you mentioned, ample room for them to supply a warband group of thugs, there's the prospect of hitmen, and the variety of futuristic criminal that silk, cubes and the like can fuel. At least one possibly-drug-dealing Latino guy with a grenade launcher would be fun :)
Im not sure how much open illegality goes on in tunguska, for some reason I kind of imagine Tunguska got to a point where internal crime is normaly too dangerous to even fully pull off and its more them doing crime off the ship and just laundering the money to Tunguska. There are probably areas of the ship considered neutural ground such as where the interventors keep all the data based on the agreement "if this goes we all lose". Its probably the more occasional assassination or "accident" between rival families that is either hushed up with money or if the action risks the overall safety of the ships bottom line the family will be dealt with by the main security forces (who are likely funded by all families equally as not to be partial). Basically its similar situation between all 3 ships "do too much we throw you out". There is clearly infighting shown in fluff though, zoe's kind of exile/attempted assassination , Svengali being counted as rougue criminal mastermind might suggest there is a limit of criminality you can do on the ship.
