I am super bugged that link doesn't show as a special link under the Brawler or Tanko profiles. That probably is the best optimized MSV2 link right now.
Well, there's always my favorite YJ build: Daofei plus two Guilang (one of them a minelayer), and you put all 4 camo markers within 8" of each other. Do you feel lucky?
It was super bad when they first added Druze too, I remember. I thought they would learn and do adequate proofreading/testing. (These are both problems that could be solved by making Army open source, I would love to be able to extend some features in it.) Every Vanilla list of mine at this point starts with a Daofei, Guilang FO, Guilang Minelayer, and 4 Kuang Shi, and then a lot of thought is made before removing any of those. There's a reason Beyond Red Veil for YJ is just "Intro to White Banner Units."
Thanks @Warhydra , yes @meikyoushisui, this is the link I meant but I'd run the Tanko with a missile for AROs when going second on round 1 and for nuking targets that I don't need the squishy brawler's burst/visor for.
ISS is still one of, if not THE, best sectorial for ITS. I do think Yu Jing should get some need CC combat units to make up for what they lost to JSA. Also, it really sucks that Yu Jing lost their cool bikes which are now JSA only.
I just realized something that's actually made me really happy about this all! I'll be losing the ability to use the shikami and my JSA support pack. Those were my only japanese units that I lost. The Support pack was old and eh. Losing the shikami sucked. BUT! - There's going to be a new support pack. With way cooler models. _sweet_. - We now have LESS profiles, which for an addicted "gotta have them all" collector who's also held back by his commision painters desire to have a life and time to paint his own models - this will mean that I'll be "done" with my yu jing army WAY earlier. - IA will not be getting launched any time soon, which gives me(my painter) even more time to finish the current armies models before the new IA models arrives. I'm officially hyped.

It doesn’t help either that the link you’re describing would struggle against most defensive links, due to the low burst and that no one will leave their pieces out for you to comfortably snipe from you DZ, unless there’s something severely wrong with your table.
I must say i like this thread and it has helped me get over much of the sting of all this JSA fiasco, so thanks
When I get some time tomorrow I'll chime in with some of my favourite you Jing lists. I don't even use battle cat yet! I'm also looking forward to the support pack and celestial swc. It's not sexy but those will be solid releases for both vanilla and ISS. I've always preferred the WIP 14 celestial hacker to the rubbish Wip 12 keisotsu, in a world full of deadly killer hackers
Not to mention grabbing all the objectives. And there is no way for a defensive link to put mods on the brawler sniper or get a higher burst, whilst higher BS is rare. If nothing has been left out to snipe, you are free to the insane order efficiency a keisotsu link grants you to micro Yuan Yuans and desperados into the enemy DZ where everyone is huddled together against the total cover waiting to be chained. A warband's paradise. As I walk through the table packed with blocking terrain I take a look for AROS and it’s all in vain ‘Cause I've been chaining' and smoking' so long That even the designers thinks that balance is gone But I ain't ever bought an upgrade even if I deserved it Buyin’ combis for a warband, you know that's unheard of You better watch this list's power, turns take an hour And you and your homies can do nothing but cower First order of the tourney and I’m throwin’ smoke Got a visor right behind me, but that ain’t broke (Fool) I'm the kinda troop that little PanOs wanna be like On their knees in the night, sayin' prayers for a price hike Keep spending most our lives Livin' in a Warband's paradise Use CC once or twice Livin' in a Warband's paradise It’s high trades and sacrifice Livin' in a Warband's paradise Chaining links is so damn nice Livin' in a Warband's paradise Look at the situation they got me facin’ I can't give a normal order but that only makes me cheap So I’m gonna template a full link team They be conga lining, gonna make all 5 scream I'm an impetuous fool with blood on my mind Got a large tear-drop in my hand and a gleam in my eye I'm a 5 point warband, mine trippin' banger And AVA total, so don't arouse my anger (Fool) Death ain't nothin' but a heart beat away I'm takin' life do or die, what can I say? As much as I enjoy the silly song, this is pure hyperbolic nonsense. Just because you can’t snipe something from your DZ doesn’t mean that the board is yours entirely, what a nonsense claim, you must never have faced camo spam then. You’re putting your, otherwise primary, attack link in the same group as the Yuan Yuan’s? No you’re not, stop this Schrödinger’s list nonsense. And your last assumption is even more ridiculous, so because you can’t see their army from your DZ, you’re assuming your opponent will deploy like a low tier and automatically give you free chain rifles? Not sure if you’re trolling by saying you’re going first, because if you’re going first, you’re not actually controlling anything as you claim will happen as a result, you’re in fact helping yourself get defeated by bringing your army much closer to get killed much more order efficiently, which is why most high tier players opt to go second and select their table half.
Great thread!!! As Yu Jing is my second faction I haven’t played a lot of games yet but had a ton of fun so far! The Hsien has been a beast in every game. The Hac Tao HMG single handedly won a game for me vs Onyx. The Yan Huo ML is super hard to dislodge, I love it! Both special remotes are really cool and unique. And the Guija is my favorite sculpt in the game, and has been a blast to play!!! I love Yu Jing!
I think I'm in agreement with many here, Yu Jing vanilla hasn't lost any core function with JSA gone. It lost a lot of fun different things around the edges, but we still get survivable generalists who can adapt to changes in circumstances, we still get great smoke+visor combos, and ever since I first saw him mention it I keep starting all my lists with @Section9 's Daofei+2 Guilang, it might not be the mass numbers of camo Ariadna can manage but with a potent HI under one of those markers the opponent is made satisfyingly more cautious as they make their advance. We've also got the Yan Huo, bringing massive overwhelming firepower without the cost and vulnerabilities of a TAG. I find them tough to use, since they don't have much BUT firepower, but they're interesting and unique (at least until the Borac shows up carrying a missile launcher).
Hmm, if Oniwaban doesn't qualify as a core function, then what are the core functions? Also, Yan Huo is fairly recent and isn't, precisely, massively overwhelming firepower, it's rather overwhelming firepower at a discounted price.
Arg, you're right on the oniwaban, of course. It's been awhile since I've thrown one in a list, but thats just because I know my opponents know I COULD, so I didn't have to. To get the same effect now, I'll have to... keep them guessing if my list was printed from the updated online Army or a pointedly-not-updated downloaded version of the program? Not workable for ITS and even for casual thats probably going too many layers deep.
a few posters don't seem to quite get what the word "positive" means. Theres plenty of threads to spread salt on your toast, maybe keep it out of here. I have a couple of lists which I think might give you some surprise factor that might be missing with the loss of oniwaban. (0 | 3) 5.5 SWC | 300 Points Open in Infinity Army This list is being refined but absolutely puts the hurt into armies which rely on 1 or 2 key rambo units and then a whole bunch of camo chaff. Lunah and the Hac Tao are deployed together and if facing the HI pain train, the guilang is hidden near the best <24" firing positions. Most players will rate their chances against lunah with a rambo, quite often I'll let them burn an order or 2 discovering her first. Then, if the target is juicy enough, your drop both AROs at once. or if not, let them take out lunah (or die trying) and then drop the ML on them when they think the lane is safe. The crane absolutely destroys camo/low point spam between high MA, templates, sensor and the shock ammo. I absolutely adore the pheasant as a last turn brawler. The shock ammo completely nullies dogged or NWI units who would otherwise burn orders, and the extra range tends to push things into your favour in a last turn scrap where its normally rifle armed specialists fighting it out for crucial objectives.
