So Magister knights used to have cool hi-tech miniaturized double-Panzerfaust on the shoulder. Now they just carry big ass unwieldy full blown, 1.5 m long Panzerfaust. What have had happened ? Again "PanO shoulder thing" ? Units who do not need shoulder mounted Panzerfaust have it and units who need it do not have it ? PanO is Ariadna now ?
Some easily missed stuff from the Adepticon Seminar and FAQ: - their new designer did the sweet new Rasyat and is working on a new Raicho right now - IA gets a 2nd S5 HI - CB doesn't like Symbio Mates eclipsing Bombs, but they are fine with Mates themselves - no Taquel design on the horizon yet - new Chasseur sculpt is coming - design for new Shasvasti starts development end 2018 (because Aliens take a lot of time, this was already said at Rumble) Personal best guess for the remaining 3 Sectorials is Immortal Army, Vedic and Varuna, not necessarily in that order. More than a guess really... for reasons left unnamed.
Yeah it threw more for a loop there. I thought it was a LRL at first, which would be odd the Church giving their craziest Knights all the explosives. "Your Holiness the College of Cardinals has some concerns with only giving missiles to the....most explosive of personalities in the Military Orders." "A good point Cardinal.....let us arm them with rockets as well!" Sadly in the end it was just a panzerfaust.
Yeah, I've got to learn to stop answering the last post in thread before reading everything else -_- Well, I'd guess that the shoulder launcher did not make obvious that the model has the panzerfaust. For example. I only noticed the shoulder thingy after I read your post. It's the same as the Gecko's panzerfaust/blitzen - they're on the model, but to figure out where exactly they are, one needs to see the concept art.
As a YJ player who actually likes that Panzerfaust model, I agree. Spoiler And I still run old Yaogats with the joystick-controlled shoulder Panzzerfausts
That's Teutons mate. (not that I'd mind Magisters getting access to them in addittion to AP or DA ones) It strikes me as a tad bit weird CB has pretty much resculpted the entire MO miniature range without taking the opportunity to switch a few things up. Maybe that will come when the last stragglers are updated (Teuton and Spec Sergeants). Not gonna complain about new Magister sculpts... but with my Order Sergeants, old Hospitalers and now old Magisters I'll have two MO clone armies standing around - anyone up for a Mirror match? I love the old(current) Magisters to bits, don't even want to update them. Guess I could just stick to the old ones and keep the new sculpts in reserve for a possible split. ... If the Seminar told us one thing than that CB is using their Data and I'm certain beyond a doubt MO Profiles see less use in Vanilla PanO than the JSA guys did in YJ. (here's to hoping)
I was. That said, there is a missile launcher profile without a Panzerfaust. Military Orders ────────────────────────────────────────────────── 1 1 MAGISTER KNIGHT Missile Launcher / Pistol, DA CCW. (2 | 32) 2 SWC | 32 Points Open in Infinity Army
Well other thing is that Magister are supposed to by hyper-dynamic but their resculps... well are not that hyper-dynamic as old ones...
Considered that option, but with Panzerfaust Rangebands and Teutons Assault(Berserk)+EXP CCW I discarded the possibility. By the way @ my fellow YJ-Players. What about the short term bandaid of getting Closed Battle Lists for the Campaign till your Sectorial hits later this year? A HI Sectorial strikes me as something much better suited for 10 Order lists than the Sval stuff in ITS9. There is also the possibility to extending the CBLs to include White Banner and keep Svalarheima around.
Given how skittish and evasive Bostria is being with his wording, IA is not this year. We will get some CBLs, which will range from mediocre to garbage in usuability, and not actually be of any value for the campaign. This is going to be an unavoidable side effect of someone who's not very good at the game not designing lists for set mission comps. We will then get some "profiles" notice he specified profiles. We will probably get 1, maybe 2, unit profiles released in advance. Usuable for Vanilla. After Gencon. So probably October, November or something. That's a bloody long time away to get anything remotely usuable, assuming any of these profiles don't suck ass without a fireteam bonus. The actual sectorial is looking like it's going to be in 2019. If it was anytime in the near future they wouldn't be dancing around with this CBL bullshit. As far as "bandaids" go I would've much prefered instead of giving me garbage, and beyond late garbage at that, in the form of CBLs they give me stuff like the Ninja FO instead. Seriously, not getting the new Ninja profile is just fucking insulting.
Just a reminder Hyper-Dynamics means super human reaction speeds, not does ninja backflips in power armour.
All I wonder is if the head on this Magister is as oddly shaped as the old models. The proportions on the old box never worked right in my eyes, a problem that most 'updated' MO models don't seem to suffer from (Nu Joan being the exception), though twin antennas might be offsetting that.
