I can. The blackjack getting up, however, is another thing entirely... Giving this "disadvantage" to troops that can go prone seems to me a blatant "discount this troop! With an irrelevant disadvantage!". On vanilla, with people levelling there up to lv 45 or so, it was a problem XD
the same blackjack that have a claymore strapped to his chest that explodes when enemies are near? The same blackjack with weapons longer than him? The same blackjack that has hydraulic systems and is so obsolete to be immune to hacking, but somehow, is more agile than a much more advanced TAG? The same blackjack that is actually bigger and bulkier than a gecko? The same blackjack that has a pilot protected by a simple helmet and somehow has the same BTS as a totally enclosed TAG? If I were Pano, I would remove the dust from the old archives of the project for the blackjack and put it back into production Edit: wait, was it ironic?
I I think that the best thing of Geckos, being abnormally tough for its price in the game of "everything's dead with a single roll". It's really funny when my opponent rant "that guy is still ALIVE?!?, wtf...." when a Gecko is shrugging off a panzerfaust to its face. Well, i've seen his sketch and realize that he has quite an arm. Maybe its strong enought to simply push himself against the ground. Maybe (lol)
Nah, they already have Stingrays and a-guy-that-can-put-even-Tarik-to-shame. They're fine without it.
Manned tags don't have rerroll. So... Akbar Doctors!!!! :p As for the specialist of the pilot, let's see what profiles get the Tanko. I would hope, however, that Heavyweight was revisited, since the size of accesses is even less used than terrain rules.
You don't need to give heavy weight any extra rules, i'd just say give the mov profile something awkward like 2-6, so you have to move-move to get anywhere at any sort of rate, slowing you down when trying to shoot multiple guys back to back.
When a "disadvantage" that never sees action keeps showing up, the problem is not the profiles (who would, with your approach, to be even cheaper, because they would have a worst first movement and that gives points discount) but either the setting (which doesn't allow the disadvantage to see use) or the disadvantage itself (a "freebie"). In this case, I prefer for Heavyweight to prevent, for starters, going prone. Won't change anything for the Maghariba, but those HI with it would suddenly pay a real prize for that discount in points. Or else, I want Heavyweight on all models, you know.
Not entirely true, but since nothing that you can possibly have on the same list as a Blackjack has Akbar doctor it's true enough to the subject... Plus I'm pretty sure it would only restore it to the battle ravaged state anyway since even though Akbar says " regains all points of the Wounds Attribute originally printed on his troop profile." the only profile that can actually be unconscious is the battle ravaged state, but I guess until Ariadna gets an Akbar or Haqqislam get lo-tec we'll never have to worry about it ..
As far as I know, there is no way to recover from Battle Ravaged. We were talking, however, about the JSA's S5 remote presence HI that I call teh takoyaki. And I was comparing with the Akbar, because Janissaries don't have a cube, thus you can't repeat healings on them... so the Akbar Doctor janissary trying to heal his mate can kill him with no rerroll possible, like the engineer breaking the gecko forever.
True, theoretically though one can try to heal a Gheko on 2 or 1 W and hopefully not botch it too many times, a doctor can only heal troops in unconscious state.
On them, no you can't, but the reroll is on targets with cubes, not doctors with cubes,so you can still make rerolls with them on govads, ragiks, ghulams etc... Edit:all of those have 1w, should have said AlFasid or something ...
Well yes it was an oversimplification, it was just a short post. And Shiwen has a much better command of the fluff than I, and did point out where I was wrong about the importance of the Japanese contribution to Yu Jing society. However I never claimed they were worthless, just that they were undervalued in Yu Jing. At the risk of bringing real world politics into the discussion, lets look at World War II. The Nazi's persecuted and killed any that did not fit their ideal. There was a huge wave of people who fled Germany to other countries. Many of them accomplished scientists and businessmen. However their departure didn't have an immediate devastating impact on Germany's economic/military position. In the wake of World War II the country of Israel was created, a process that took decades, and seemed completely implausible if you don't know the minutia, yet it did happen. I don't think the writers are going to go into crazy amount of details, so I am sure there will be some hand-wavium for the sake of brevity. I don't think the premise is completely implausible. Also consider, game wise, the JSA has been thrown into the NAA section of the rules. The other confirmed members of NAA are mercenary companies. While JSA may be the big fish in that pond, it suggests that even after a 'successful' revolution, the JSA have about the political clout as a mercenary company of soldiers, which doesn't sound like a lot to me.
Yeah thats true, but also if he's big and clunky maybe difficult terarin doesn't stop him? Maybe 2-4 would be better. Or could just patch Difficult terrain to use the lower of the 2 values. My point is that heavyweight is a bit crap at the moment.
Momentum is a very good way to keep moving forward, but without traction it runs out real fast ... Changing movement value is a non starter, since it needs so many patches and caveats added. The best option is to make narrow gates more important to ITS. Maybe with some kind of building... Nah that'll never work, it's not like multiple partners of CB will make exactly the scenery required, and it's not possible to make one from 2 A4 sheets of foam board....
Thus my post about what really means being a 2nd rate citizen in YJ... Besides, having their own continent and being treated poorly outside just makes them stay there, where the only impact is whatever the policial forces enforce (culture, among those, which sucks, yeah). Weeeell... I hope I don't get flamed to hell here, but leaving aside the "final solution" and the nuts in political charge, Germany had all the merits to win WW2, losing only because they were ordered by said nuts in charge to cross Russia, in winter. As Stalin said, "Quantity is a quality on its own", something even the USA banked on: German troops had superior gear and much shorter logistics train (Russia aside...), but collapsed because they could not replace damaged parts to their much superior tanks. Now, as for the scientifics... they made most of their contribution before the crap hit the fan. And were so important, Operation Paperclip was critical, and those "unimportant" escaped/rescued scientists are the reason USA got the nuclear bomb, and their advances determined things like supersonic planes and Tesla's "car in orbit"... Weeeeell... there are a lot more reasons for Israel than that. Among them, the british throwing them there, where the sh*t still gets around nowadays. I compared the JSA situation with Israel's in some post, regarding the Japan islands. Yes, but we will see. No matter how much handwavium you use, the ISS has failed, the question is if they failed "due to plot" so they look like stupid waste of space, or "there really is an explanation on what happens, and it never got perfect", among other things. And of course, the old "now you conquered the world, the new level of keeping and running it starts". No. NA2 is short for Non Aligned Armies, and refers to those lists we can play that are not associated with any major potency. So, at this moment is "any list that is not backed by the 7 big factions of the game", so you could, in fact, see an Israeli national special operations cadre listed there. It doesn't work that way. Access size refers to the size of the base of the model, which never changes. Heavyweight refers to the GATE markers (end of the corebook), listed as Narrow gate, Wide Gate, etc..., and Heavyweight means that the model having it has to stop its movement there, and spend another order to cross. Kinda like how the terrain rules work for troops without that terrain. So what would be needed is for the ITS scenarios to use those markers... which people will find clunky and boring, like they do with terrain rules... thus making the use of Heavyweight an exercise in blatant munchkinism to make some units cheaper than they should.
@xagroth I feel like we mostly agree, its just a matter of perspective. Is the glass half empty or half full? We both agree there is definitely a half there though. (Of course an engineer knows its best to keep half your water in a redundant glass.)
