The double layered defense of Ariadna bushwackers and high tech Nomad links is appealing. It frees up design space for the offensive part of the force. Detail wise I really like Emily. A BS13 Shock Marksmanship Rifle or LGL armed Lt is a model that can project threat while still safe in the backline. That´s just the spot the commander wants to be in. Current plan: Hardcase + Cateran shellgame on the deployment line. Jaguars covering Brigadas advance after the Brawler sniper cleared out the advance corridor. Alguacil link protecting the rear with with Emily. FO Al'Hawwa and KHD Bandit for upfield objective tagging.
I guess not. But it's good starting point, I would rather use her with Brawlers then Alguciles, it's a little unlikely but it's not entirely ruled out either (Valerya in Druze can link with anybody after all, so why not one of the new Mercs too?).
As I understand it (from what I've heard), she has a different profile that reflects her career change. (although speculative EM grenades is still a thing apparently)
I mostly like Emilys Marksman Rifle, so holding thumbs for that. Thinking secondary offensive tool (1st Mobile Brigada) a Spitifire Hellcat. Reasoning going that with the Sup Combat Drop, worst case the model is still placed within tactical range. Strategywise a step by step attack: first turn draw attention with the MB, go SF in cover and then adapt to the situation with the Hellcat. In the meanwhile the Brawler sniper and Cateran creates no go zones to cut off the enemys possibility to reinforce. Keep dividing the board and clear out sector by sector. Obviously this is just smoke and mirrors for the Bandits and Al'Hawwa (and Hardcase if there´s any Demolition needed) to solve the objectives ;)
I think there will be at least one Emily profile with LGL because that`s how model is sculpted. What LGL - that`s the question.
One of the interesting limitations is that there's only a single model with MSV2*, so the Irmandinho / Jaguar smoke tricks are gonna be limited, but there's plenty of MSV1 to go around. Play style is gonna be interesting, and I love limitations like that :) *(unless StarCo get some of their own special profiles)
It is possible that new character will have MSV2. Likely not but possible. Smore + MSV2 MSR is quite enough to shoot TR bots and similar stuff, so it`s ok for me.
I've been trying some on paper list-building. Using Outrage and other existing troop profiles for now. Can make some interesting stuff, but one thing im torn on is all the skirmishers/warbands. Like... bandits vs jaguars for example. Bandits are *so much better* but... irregular. The Al'hawwa is great, but, only one. What are other people's thoughts on this part of the list?
Decent Camo options. A bandit + Al'hawwa is very usable. The irregular order doesn't matter much because your likely to be using the bandit ever turn its alive. The Al'hawwa is a decent assault hacker while the bandit is a passable Killer Hacker because KHD are so overpowered. I could even see people using double bandits, some nomad players seem to love them. AHL make nice AROs.
Jaguars are a mix of order mooks/enablers of out-of-DZ offensives by e.g. Brigadas/MSV2 & Smoke trick shooting enablers/reserve offensive tools. The ability to bring the warband toolbox without Fury drawbacks is significant.
https://www.infinitythegame.com/blog/news/item/481-uprising-recommended-purchase Yeah, best combo for StarCo is Nomads Starter (heya, 2 models you won't be using, all that for a Brigada and three basic alguaciles) and Riot Grrrls box... plus, one Hawwa you won't be using XD Are they bankin on people buying also the 300pts box? Mi "menu" would have been: *Alguacil SWC box *Brigada SWC box *Avicenna blister *Mr Masacre blister * Zond Remotes * Cateran OR Bandit * Irmandinhos Sure, you are "forced" to bring the brigada hacker or proxy one alguacil as hacker, but hell...
Hawwas are awesome. Hacker is a solid specialist (VOL 14) who also can make up to 6 different secondary objectives. Their cost is only a little bit higher than the Zero, and not having access to them, this is the main "mission acomplisher" "button pusher" for StarCo if you ask me. And the second will be probably the Irmandinho
Bandit == any one of the two models. Low cost menu is low cost. I loathe to include models you can't use on entry packages, and having 2 hawwas outside of KQ is not possible. Essentially her I go for lowest money, highest utility. And I have QK. 3 Hawwas (usually AHD the three) are my usual starting point. Sure, you can use one as hawwa and the other as bandit, but if we go that way, just pick 2 starter boxes and proxy like mad, or the 300pts Corregidor box, use the Brigadas as Riots or brigadas as needed, etc...
I'm not a huge fan of proxying in-sectorial models. So (for me) Zero Hacker as Al Hawwa = Good, other-Bandit as Al Hawwa = Bad. And honestly, Grrls and MB are the 2 best looking S2 HI sculpts around: no way am I proxying those. I've already bought my Irmadino; I'll pick up the Hunzakut LGL as a Hardcase; and, I'll probably just use my Druze Hacker as the Al Hawwa (she's already my Moran proxy in CJC). I'm honestly going to run into a serious 'how do I run 3 Irregular Camo effectively?' problem. Bandit + Al Hawwa + Hardcase is practically a 'must take' combo for me. And that's before you consider Caterans and Irmandinhos. Re: their Starco recommendations: honestly there's nothing there I wouldn't use except the Al Hawwa Sniper, I'd have swapped those for a Bandit blister. And not because Al Hawwa's aren't awesome, just because then you don't have to use something that is otherwise a valid choice: you can happily use the Spektr as a proxy instead.
Agree 100%. I was stoked at first on the various shellgames and offensive shenanigans you can pull off with infiltrating Bandits and Hardcases pretending to be Caterans etc., but the loss of control cost is worrying. I get the feeling that if you use more than one Bandit it becomes the main offensive asset by necessity. As more of a reactive trooper Caterans can be put into a seconday Combat Group, but infiltrators need the flexibility of the main group. Irmandhinos seem like nice partners to attacking drones, thus their cost isn´t as high orderwise, but for the strategy it´s another matter. It´s not always that you want to swing out a S4 bot into the sights of the enemy despite what the hotheaded Engineer says.
