Thank you! I used decals from some model-aircraft kits I had flying around and saved. IMO CB is missing out on providing decals for their larger models (esp. TAGs) that would make the models look more like actual military vehicles. I know about their decal range, but the decals they provide are just the basic range of faction symbols afaik. Sure, you could just use 3rd party decals like I did. But still, some fitting decals in the appropriate language to make your TAG a bit more "tacticool" would be nice. I finished a beasthunter that I really liked: Cheers!
I'm not a fan of this mini because I don't dig into the one power-arm thing. Nevertheless, you did a great job on it.
I have bought the Winds from the North Starterbox. I had thought about getting into Warcrow for a while now, and a couple of weeks ago I decided to go for it. So far I have painted the Northern Tribes part of the box. I am really looking forward to the first testgames, as I have heard 99% positive stuff about the game and its mechanics. Cheers!
Ah, I forgot to post one miniature. It was actually the first one from Warcrow that I have bought to try out a few things. Here I went for a darker skintone. Ultimately I decided on the brighter and more saturated look of the boxart for the bulk of the Northern tribes. But i still think this one will fit in, as it is supposed to be a really old and experienced tribesman (I guess), and as we all know, the older green skin is the darker it becomes. Cheers!
I personally like the darker skin tone way more, but could totally change in person and on the table: great paint job nonetheless.
Thank you! The difference between the two skintones is quite stark in my opinion, with the darker one looking more grim. For me in the end it was more of a gut decision in the moment. I have finished the Hegemony models and I am okay with how they turned out. Painting the trim wasnt as bad as I had feared. Still I am quite happy that I dont have to do any more models with this kind of trim in the nearer future haha. I tried something different with the osl on the mage, but I am not that happy with the result. I think the effect on the tribesmage looks cooler. There I had the benefit of a great fluo color from warpaints in pink. I havent been able to find an equivalent in blue, so for the Hegemony mage I went with contrastpaint over a white airbrush basecoat and then some shading and... I dunno. But there it is and I dont want to touch it again. And then I built some sheds/small houses for scenery from cardboard, coffeesticks and toothpicks. The scenery that came in the starterbox is really okay, but I wanted something more solid and I enjoy scratchbuilding old houses like that. In the near future I will add some minor stone walls and some fences and maybe elements like a well and some small shrines for mission objectives. However, as I havent yet had the opportunity to really dive into the rules I dont really know how much of an impact scenery elements and their influence on line of sight etc. have. But anyway, it was quite fun to build and paint them so its okay. Cheers!
