    BS Attack has always been extremely valuable and have been costed as such. For years, it was considered a 'tax' on PanO being +BS faction.

    N5 has made a lot of great improvements which has made the game better balanced. The fireteam changes has made solo operators more viable. Units are much more mobile. HI is now a cost break. Hacking is solid, important, but not overwhelming.

    This is the first time in many many editions than PanO has been considered strong. Let them have their moment.

    If it's any consolation, Hac Tao ML is +1B now. It's a menace active turn.

    Lmao, only PanO players could be so braindead to consider above average BS as tax. Please CB nerf all my OP factions with this terrible terrible BS tax, all my YJ Haqq and Aleph need to gwt more expensive by getting 14s and 15s in their BS to be more balanced.

    Back before Swiss and HT were almost identical, with HT having a slight edge (justifiably so, being a HI faction). I like it how CB made the units more different now, and both perfectly viable at what they do.

    The tax wasn't "above average BS". It was the lack of smoke, secondary weapons, decent hacking, cost-effective specialist and midfield - basically, PanO was pigeonholed into "Shooting faction" slot and didn't get any - or at best very few - of the tools other factions had access to. And when those factions' shooting game got better with every edition and faction rework, PanO was looking dull in comparison. Now the situation is much more equal in this respect.

    My gripe is more that they they are the same cost. +1 B is great but the Swiss +1 SD is clearly better. Almost all of what my opponent killed was in his ARO! Lets face it, it doesn't matter if you are hit by two missiles. One is sufficient to kill most. The Hac Tao HMG is better because of NCO. But it costs more and I don't think NCO is worth more than BS15.

    Sometimes +1 BS is what makes the difference, sometimes it's being able to use that additional order on this particular unit. Also, HT gets to use Surprise Attack if it's being used in the active turn. He and Swiss are geared for different tactics, at least when we're talking about ML's

    I'm not knocking on it. I just want the Hac Tao to be a bit cheaper than the Swiss. If not cheaper, than better in other areas. How about giving them all a better CC and weapon? The Swiss got that one option no one uses. I think that's another case of the sculptor not knowing the troop and they give it rules to make up for it.

    During the update some units changed form +1B to +1SD and get a bit cheaper during the process. It looks like CB values +1B more then +1 SD. Which is kinda true bc you can actualy do more damage with +1B. The crux is, that +1 SD has value in both active and reactive turn.

    Just see Swiss as an reactive piece and the Hac Tao as an active one.

    But - both are 60 pts. Swiss has a side arm (LSG), a bigger template and a better ccw, BS+1, WIP-1 and CC -4 so the most significant value is better for the same price.

    The Swiss is both. +2 B is just more body parts. 1 missile is enough to kill most on the table. Hac Tao is a little better against TAGs.

    The BS is significant. WIP and CC hardly come into play. If they are in CC it's usually against something much better than either of them. The Swiss can even hit on 21 with the LSG. I don't think the size of the template matters for either of them. They are likely going to be using on a Ninja or something that's coming at them in CC. Not a group that's spread out.

    Everything matters, even the size of the template that makes it unusable if the attacker closing in is properly placed.

    For me both units have a defined dichotomy Hac Tao been an offensive unit and Swiss Guard been an ambush unit, what they both share is the need for a model to exist.

    And yes, +1B should be regarded higher as it can be split in contrast with +1SD.

    Good point. You can split burst but I'd rarely, if ever do that. It's then one burst each and you are more likely to miss at least one of them. Especially against Mim-6. If I can do it with no negatives and the enemy is at even more, then yes I'd do it. But that scenario is rare.

    I would say Hac Tao is the Ambush unit - because yes it throws out two Missiles or, like you pointed out, attacks two targets with surprise.

    For the Swiss @Space Ranger is right here - it can be both but thanks to the SD working in both phases. That makes her the better ARO.

    Hac Tao shold be a bit cheaper lacking a sidearm and having one point less BS.

    That's the problem with third party services, they're just another fault-prone layer.
    But the new wave of Albedo troops in OSS doesn't change much about YJ's ability to counter Marksmanship Troopers

    My favourite situation for Albedo is still seeing the surprise of many who just buffed their favourite remote with Assisted Fire when they realize they're just shooting worse than before against that single but very pesky Albedo (-6) trooper. :grin:

    I have yet to have albedo come into play. My albedo guys are usually taken out by non msv troops.

    Yep, that's the drawback of Albedo usually the majority of the opponent's force has no MSV / MM thus it's generally easier to circumvent the Albedo guy...

    The Monday signal thing is done with. I couldn't get anyone in the group to play. Especially at the start because everyone wanted to practice for a local tournament.

    The results pretty much looks the way I expected. Nomads on top mainly by sheer numbers.

    The only places I saw anything for it were youtube and news feed on discord. Not sure if they did any other social. Most of it came from the content creators.

    You really had to look for it. And IMO there was no real buzz generated, even if you played the Missions and reported the game (played and reported one game during the first round and one in the fourth), and the missions were not that inviting to play.

    I only played the first round and forgot to report bc we do it few days before the deadline. Fluff-mini-vids were posted on Insta, Y-Tube and maybe facebook. You could follow it in the geist app or the blog. So yes no big announcments. While some missions were intresting and the story not so bad it misses some real hook.

    I liked the campaigns before more with a hub were you had the places were to fight and why incl. a loose story. This purle narrative approch was not bad, but it was only a slim insight in the trail of Rubys story and to show her as kind of a Sacha leader therefore it was more a campaign for merc groups in my PoV.

    I think an overall storyline with Mazebraker would be more intresting.

    The best thing of it was the Geist-Web-App: I realy like the look and how compact it brings all the missions information. Thx to the makers!
