This might be too early. But I'll add in the Gui Feng and K2 if they actually do come out in December. Winner for the year YU JING! I think this is the first time for Yu Jing to have more than others in a year. 22 is the average if you take out Nomads who got twice as much in one year. The big looser is Aleph with zero new figures (possibly 1). Second is Haqqislam. I hope the rumor there might be a new thing for Aleph and Haqqislam because they need it. Haqqislam in particular. Figure Release up to December 2025 YJ: 9 Releases, 24 figures (WB Beta pack, IS Action Pack, Dragon Lord, Long Wang, IS Alpha Pack, IS Pack Beta, YJ Paint set, IS Pack Gamma, Feiquan) JSA: 7 Releases, 16 figures (Alpha pack, Beta pack, Gamma pack, Aibots, Delta pack, Yamabushi, JSA Paint set) CA: 5 Release, 14 Figures (Krakot Renegade, Next Wave box, Juggernaut TAG, CA Warcor, Achilles) PanO: 7 Releases, 13 figures (KCF Beta pack, Dr. Priya Harper, Gamma pack, Redeye, PanO Paint Set, Drummers, Jotum) O-12: 5 Release, 8 figures (TB Beta Pack, Jamie Arantes, Tinker and Zetbot, Firebat, O12 Paintset) Nomads: 5 Release, 8 Figures (Go-Pod & Go-Bot, Iguana & Pilot, Nomad paint set, Switchers, Triggermen) Ariadna: 2 Release, 5 figures (TAK Alpha Pack, Vystrel pack) NA2: 3 Release, 4 Figure (Krakot Renegade, Scarface & Cordelia, Anaconda)Haqqislam: 2 Release, 3 Figures (Scarface & Cordelia, Zeybek) Special: Dire Foes 15, (HVT, Oda, Bipandra), Season 17 ITS Pack (Sacha: IA, KCF, TB, USARF, SB) Aleph: 0 2020-2025 Total new figures per faction. I still hold out hope for a Yu Jing Biker! I just like motorcycles and I love Yu Jing so want it! Especially a transforming HI biker! I'm old and love Robotech For Imperial Service I hope there's alternate weapon options of Koga, Vanguard, and more. I hope there's more JSA too. I hate when they come out with re-fresh of a faction or a new one and then nothing new comes out after the initial new figures.
I really love the new Anaconda pilot, even though she is crouching, been elevated in a platform that fits inside the base is good for me. I love this design direction for crouching models.
I don't like "new" JSA pack. Why CB are doing such a releases without thinking? One of the miniatures is in JSA essentials army pack already. What is the reason?.. Other releases are fine. New Anaconda is almost perfect. Except material. Achilles without his team is a sad picture. But no emotions.
The Anaconda is looking good enough to have me considering buying a second... Nice of CB to supply a decoy marker for the Ryuken-9...
Anaconda looks nice, except for that knife thing. And is the operator's base the same that the Cateran's?
the vertical piece seems so, the topper for the normal base is somewhat different. The pilot's pose is the same as the Mukhtar Hacker (sans arms and head).
Yeah they did this with Yu Jing not to long ago too. It's a simple "see what we already have". But they don't have many size 2 troops that are not already out. Without making a new sculpt. I think they could have done the Kempeitai BSG.
Overall the new Miniatures of the December release are really nice although I don't really understand why Achilles gets that extra arm. Giving him the drawn Xiphos and a shouldered Spitfire / Plasma Rifle would've been great too... Why is suddwnly even the Unicool Plastic inadequate?
I still like the lim.ed. Achilles more. But he alien-one is also on point to the artworks. Nice mini - but I will not buy some stuff, they take away from me, after I bought it first. Not a nice move CB. Spoiler: Bad story The plot itself if boring, the act of taking units / chars away is annoying and I am salted already, as I play all Yu Jing sectorials. Why not bring some of the CA characters to the HS? Now that they have Achilles, the have no need for Sheskin, Yu Jing will welcome her for a while. Messer could find a new home on a Nomad ship. The Dune/Haq flyer is nice. As is the Anaconda - not look like a random merc TAG anymore. This one is so good, I´ll buy it as a replacement for my old one (still not painted). This is good work!
While I personally don't dig the knife, I think it's a correct TAG... but I have a question: Where are the pilot's arms. Lately it's been somewhat inconsistent if we got or not the pilot's arms in the TAG model, I think (for example the Lizard kept the kneeling pose for the pilot with obvious sculpts of the thigs and knees at the tag's waist & hips, but I see no small arms in the chassis). I wish the crouching models were used in the Guardian troops and on those you link together several of the same unit (basic infantry is a great example, I miss the Acontecimiento Regulars from the second starter pack, it's a great sample). Sadly, the crouching poses are used the most in models that won't be much in the table due to marker states (or in this case, well, she has to survive the TAG's BLAMMO! encounter).
Pilot's arms inconcistencies are bothering me way more than I would like (as much as Ariadna big HI lack of pilot arms). You have piloted TAGs with no pilot arms, piloted TAGs with arms but tiny ones (I suspect the lattest S6 piloted TAG are sculpted at S7 size and resized) and a TAG piloted by an HI but the arms on the TAG are not the same as the HI's arms... The Rocawork TAG, the Lizard and the Anaconda don't have arms for the pilot. Maybe for those gears Nomads use a different tech for piloting? Like pluging directly the TAG commands to the pilot brain (mostly like the piloting chambers of remote piloted TAG, but with the pilot in the TAG) and so they don't really have to move themselves to make the TAG mimicking their movements? More prosaically, I can see the arms being omited just because they are a pain to integrate properly in the design/pose of the mini. Especially the Anaconda, with those bags on the hips. Morats TAG don't have slave arms too, but with the Bultrak we know Morats drive a TAG like we drive a bicycle...
The Lizard is not a manned TAG, it has a RobbyBot Ancillary unit The Anaconda has an Escape System, it could become messy to spit the pilot out if his arms were extending outside of the TAG...
No, there has been a number of pilot miniatures, "pilot" means there is fully antropomorfic pilot inside (besides that's the lore for Tunguska's Hollow Men). I think this the most likely cause, it's a shame because it removes one of the most consistent iconic (and older) callback of the game (to AppleSeed's Landmates). The Juggernaut for Next Wave has a pilot (and can be seen in the model), Remote Presence and the Staldron ancillary. Lore-wise ALL Nomad TAGs were piloted until the Stigmaton was released for Bakunin. Ejection systems have nothing to do (see Iguana...), you simply blow up connecting parts in separate directions, the same way a combat helicopter starts the ejection of the pilot by ejecting the rotor's blades to avoid a Kebab Accident.
I wonder if we will ever get the TAG support pilots? Probably not, like we didn't get any REM Drivers. I wouldn't mind having them back. BTW according a post from Warsenal, the JSA set was wrong. It's not the Ryuken hacker. It's the Kempei BSG as I thought. So it looks like no Gui Feng or K2A for December. I'm guessing January. I can't say that I mind. Unless we start playing spec op rules again, the Gui Feng is nothing more than a snazzy Zhanshi. So I'm not likely to pick it up any time soon. I also found Achilles comes with two arm options. Spitfire or CCW.
The Rocawork TAG was designed by a PanO defector who used PanO remote presence tech on that particular TAG, so it was Nomad's first remote presence TAG. This is from the TAG Raid background, but was not reflected in the rules when Triphammers were introduced because everyone just got the same options. Has their been an update to the background that Nomads have upgraded the Lizard to not be piloted with someone inside? Remote Presence had been the indicator of a TAG not having a pilot inside. Ancillaries seem to me just a rules work around so CB could get away from complicated rules interactions involved with pilots hopping in and out of their TAGs. Even TAGs with arms have them. Someone else had pointed it out, but the Juggernaut has guard, which is usually shown by the unit having a buddy on the base with them, so the rider isn't the pilot, they are the Juggernaut's guard buddy.
If it have, they are hidden pretty well. Maybe its an upgrade (Facelift with some proper changes) and the new operater can keep her arms in safty inside the armoured torso. Robby is also on manned Nomad TAGs. That could not be the reason. Lizard lacks REM-presence. Stigmata is a REM-presence TAG. Given the rounded belly like torso of the Lizard, it could be, that it only has a dolphin as a pilot, and those have no arms... ;-) Old Ana has arms.
The word there is OLD. Not all got pilots and you can't find those that did. Also these are not actual pilots. They are TAG Support Pilots. Emphasis on Support. This makes me feel we will never see figs for them. I don't necessarily mind but I wish they could put out like one generic pilot that would work for all of them. Also, they are only in the factions with manned TAGs.
I completely agree that the model composition points to the dudette mounted on the technoorganic monster being a guardian. However, mentioning that got me chewed out by Omadon (from Sinpetaca 2.0) about not having watched the lore videos released to content creators (despite the Jugs lore not being released by all, apparently one has to follow ALL in case scraps are doled in different order...). Apparently, the Lore Gods Stateth: The Juggernaut is mindmeld of an alien beast and a rider (the models represented). I think of it as "let's get the Throne from Imperial Knights and Titans into Infinity!", since part of the lore states that the riders needs training and loads of willpower so the mind link won't let te beast overwhelm them. The choice for a technoorganic beast came because the new worlds don't have the infrastructure to sustain standard TAGs No comments about already existing TAGs like the Avatar, Overdrones or Xeodrones (or Unidrones!) being obviously technoorganic yet not having been normalized with the rule. No comments about how the lore for the Jugs states, a few lines after the logistic limitations, that the "lion" is at this point little more than a brain in a fully cybernetic body. So yeah, the Guardian part would be absent from the miniature, but the pilot would be present in a model with Remote Presence... I think the lore was one thing, but the Lore Gods decided it was not to be a CA TAG without a second level of Unconscious, and dropped the Guardian for reasons. You know, instead of an ECM (Hacker) -3. The lizard's looks don't really seem conductive to that, remember the pilot is kneeling and we see the (armored) thighs in the model. I could buy that for the Anaconda, however. I still think the shield should go... It's too large, one the size of the Hoplite's from Blackwind would have been more than enough, I believe. Personally, I think there are much more urgent sculpts pending. It is my hope that we get a new Dasyu in the store for OSS & vAleph... The last one was removed soon after N4 launched...
