Just another question, I noticed that the Clipper Dronbot has a FTO version. Does this mean we can use it in a fireteam? There is no mention of the Clipper in the fireteam charts, but has a fireteam option. Weird.
No current PanO faction can yet, but the Clipper profiles are shared with Druze who are able to include them in a link team. Varuna was able to link Clippers in N4 so likely Clippers will be able to link in Varuna's link teams upon their glorious return.
Oh, that explains it then. It would be nice if MO could do the same. A question for you MO players, what is a good ARO trooper? I like the BF HRL profile compared to the OS HRL types. Buy he is very expensive. I am thinking of just using the Escort Seargent HRL profile. It is hard to fit points in for a knights list. The BF HRL benefits more from joining a Crosier fireteam, and the OS HRL increases the purity level. Is it better to build a level 5 Core FT with the OS HRL, or a level 4 Core FT with a BF HRL? What has worked for you?
First time I hear Black Friar HRL ben expensive. She is a staple of Military orders list building give her a link that provides her with +1SD and she is golden.
Compared individually to our other options within faction, yes. But the skills that the BF HRL brings is cheaper compared to other faction and sectorials. I alos like the Escort Sgt HRL because he can be a simple ARO with DZ defence. Then tbe Clipper with +1B seemd like a good HI/TAG option if Marksmanship is applied. Since i am revisiting MO in N5, I am curious how others use certain troopers.
My aro core was a BF HRL (sometimes even 2) crossier MSR or Sergeant HRL, 1 crossier paramedic, 1 standard crossier and a Knight Commander. BF is a bargain in cost. Also i always had a Sniper trinitarian ready if necesary. Or you can go for resilience and put 2 crossiers + a Justice with Missile Launcher
Troops on ARO need to have some edge over enemy troopers to be worth it. They either need vis mods, multiple wounds, or are so astoundingly cheap that any trade would be worth it. The OS HRL has none of those, unfortunately. The BF HRL can see through smoke, mimetism, and stealth, and imposes a small penalty against MSV and Marksmanship. I would sooner null deploy than put an OS HRL on ARO because you're just throwing away an order at that point. I think MO's ARO choices are limited to the BF HRL, Sierra, and Trin sniper. Late game you could circumstantially add a TAG to that list.
It'll be the same as all the other balance tweaks they've had in the years I've played; underwhelming and not solving the problem lol
While I like an update, I will not hold my breath for now. And just as I am returning to my favourite sectorial. Hopefully it will refocus on mass HI.
That's the problem, expectations of players are an utopia. You can not have mass HI of knights and want them to shoot good, melee good and be flexible with lots of options and good stats. MO has never been intended to be this and should not be this. Mainly because maths don't allow it. So you must cheat points , something they already do, and that is not fair for the rest of armies. Invincible Army is supposed to be that image of mass HI, yet they struggle to bring more than 6 HI with mediocre stats in a 15 units list.
Why not? they are a great Sectorial quite different from the others! What does one mean by Mass Heavy Infantry?
MO was never planned to be released, and knights would only be available in their sectorials, like Svalarheima or Acontecimento. But people asked so hard and so loud for them, that CB released MO as it's own thing. (or that's what i was said, that happened a couple of years before i entered the game)
