Important details regarding this infodrop: I think it comes from the Freak Wars (the timing is quite coherent, and I doubt it comes from the comic-con in Malaga) Aside from CC+2 and ARM+1, the Harbringer's statline is the same of a Dakini, they also get Courage (no Remote Presence, no 6-4 movement, no mimetism-3 but dodge+3 AND Combat Instinct). I think aside from the basic loadout (combi+zapper+breaker pistol+CCW that is not PARA-3) and Commlink (which is a +1) they are 1pt cheaper than the dakinis, with more loadout options. Harbringer AP marskman + Harbringer FO, 30pts of painful duo with Combat Instinct... The SECTORIALS IMAGE!!! It's not that I'm specially hyped, but look at that image: Acontecimiento, Varuna and Caledonia have "Fuera Catálogo" (out of catalogue, so, out of production), yet Neoterra, Merovingia and StarCo have no notes... While StarCo is not hard to say "it's in production" (it's a "mercenary unit" with mostly Nomad units with a some Corregidor core), Neoterra and Merovingia should have the OOP note... yet they doesn't, so I imagine we will see a relaunch of both. Now, this doesn't surprise me much, since Ariadna's reinforcements pointed hard to Merovingia, and PanO's to Neoterra (despite having the whole lineup of sectorials and Kestrel being a "mix" of Neoterra with Acontecimiento), just like Haqq's point to Qapu or CA's to Exrah (which were never a sectorial per se, while the rest being something not previously retired, I think). Sooo... Bet's pool opens again. We have, I think, the following windows for bit Infinity boxes: November-ish (N5 launch and Operation Sandtrap), March-ish (sectorial box) and August-ish (traditional Operations box date). And we have three primary options and one secondary, those being respectively Next Wave, Neoterra, Merovingia, and finally USARiadna. Assuming we will get a new Operations box, and all three windows will stay, this gives us 2 sectorial boxes and one Operations... Personally, assuming all those data I listed before are right, I see no other option than a Next Wave Vs Merovingia Operations, possibly in november (less likely March) with a Neoterra release in March and (less likely but I hope nevertheless) USARiadna back in a year. This being my personal lottery, btw, but other crazy ideas are always welcome.
I have the doubt if VCa balance is because there are too strong units, or simply because Next Wave is arriving Next wave is confirmed as stand alone launch next month at Spiel. And yes, Merovingia and NEoterra dont have the out of catalog tag because the reinf box (Weird that Caledonia has it, because between Kosmo and some mercs, most of the sectorial is already available)
vCA is getting balanced because it’s win rate is too high, according to someone who spoke with Gutier at NOVA. TAK and MO have too low a win rate. It’s something like 59% for CA and 37% for TAK and MO. CB wants the spread to be no more than 15%. I’m with fari on why Neoterra and FRRM are not listed oop, but I can always dream of more. CHA still listed as oop doesn’t really surprise me because of how many units are oop, especially with mormaers having been pulled now. I think USARF is supposed to return next year, but could be misremembering what has been relayed by various people. Could even be hallucinating that.
I don't think it's just a Spec Op. It's Xi Zhang character from Dire Foes. He's unfortunately forgettable. He never comes up as something to take in a list for me.
I could get it for Neoterra (at least back in the day when it was first discontinued, it really was 3-4 boxes and 2-3 blisters what stopped being produced: starter box, bolts box, auxilia box, a second hexa blister and maybe a few more units...) since everything else was present in one sectorial or another NA2... But Merovingia has just the reinforcements box and Bruant?
Anaconda is a new sculpt, chasseur I think is still in production, mirage 5 new sculpts, support pack is current, alguaciles for hacker are current. Warcor is covered. Reinf box covers a spread of bits. Paracommandos are new, There's a lot of stuff covered tbh. Metros are easily proxied with other ariadnan infantry as are zuoaves.
Aside from BTS 3 their statline is that of Zhanshi (no courage and D+3 (so you see BTS+3, D+3, Courage, Combat instinct a Zapper and the upgrade to Breaker Pistol are worth 3 pts - wow thats cheap!). Or Aside from WIP -1 their statline is that of Celestial Guard but while CG only have D+1" the New Wavers get the above mentioned goods - this time more or less for free minus the zapper that could be the same price as the riotstopper. I would not interpret too much into notes that CB sets. Sometime they even mixed up the logos ...
To be fair, the Chasseur was the "bye bye Merovingia" model (Qapu's was an Odalisca), and the reinforcements units consist of one or two of specific units, so you would need 2 reinforcements box to cover AVA needs. We shall see if the AVA and fireteams once revised are more flexible and allow for a complete experience of sorts with just one reinforcements box, but I see the point of "almost all units have a model or two in production".
Nothing new... When Caledonia existed, there were available no more than 2 grey rifles at the same time...when the ava was 5 and they could make a core... And im sure there are more examples though all the factions
Yeah, seen CB do lazy copy-pasta updates for mrrf since n2 ended so not holding much hope myself. Maybe this one will be the time they actually get a proper update??
Remember that instead of revamping MRRF, that went out at the same time that Shasvastii, CB prefered to create Kosmoflot... Im not sure we'll see a revision for Merovingia soon
But the dossier lacks the typical shoulder/backpack of Xi (I did not glued mine as I did not like the look).
they could be changing him. Also, why come out with a regular spec ops now? They haven't said anything about promoting spec ops games again. And since IS came out, i've been expecting him to be re-made.
Military orders and Ariadna Spec ops were remade without previous warning. Now that is the IS focus, it makes sense
Maybe. But they also show him with a combi-Light flame thrower. The LFT isn't option a YJ spec op can take, but Xi has that. Either way, Xi or not, i'll probably not get it because he's not good enough and no one plays Spec Ops. They need to rework some of the skills and weapons on them. Who's going to take a SMG for 4pts now? And they still show Bioimmunity.
Yes, the Gui Feng Spec-Ops dossier presented at Freak Wars in Madrid... it's a Spec-Ops, nothing else. And yes, with the dossier presentation, they talked about wanting this type of troop back.
