Frankly, at this point I think Corvus is recycling samurai models they made for Warcrow into Infinity. Some wouldn't be out of line with my Soga models from Eldfall :S Bubblegum crisis, here we come... At least we shouldn't get an Isekai corps...
Here is the latest information while we start a new topic for new planning. They uploaded images to the dark web; there were only two images, those from the May and June releases, and one for the Usariadna, with Gutier stylized as a detective from a crime novel, which said exactly what Bostria said in the video. I wasn't really motivated to read the 800 chat posts, so maybe there was some information during the FAQ portion of the seminar. The claim that there is no design space for a full JSA faction or for a third Aleph sectorial... I don't think it holds water. Japanese culture offers much more than just ninja and samurai in visual inspiration - their street fashion trends, the various anime/manga aesthetics, a lot in terms of futurism and robotic design... CB purposefully made the two sectorials samurai and samurai. Likewise Aleph is not obliged to just go with another mythology. CB can come up with a renegade sectorial, having Perseus and the Team Zed characters, along with generic units that did not defect all the way to the bugs and monkeys. They can probably even put Svengali somewhere there. Or they can go in an opposite direction with some grassroots movement, supportive of Aleph that with the help of Mommy goes to develop in a full on paramilitary force. So Aleph can suddenly have a bit of the Haqq and Nomad gameplay design space with nasty asymmetric skirmishers and warbands. And of course there can always be a bespoke force setting up Aleph infrastructure on Shinju. A lot of concepts are possible, even without suddenly inventing a mothballed project by the bureaucracy.
Well, another set of quiet months for Haqqislam. Hopefully, maybe something near ComicCon to celebrate the TV series....
Regarding the releases: Red eye - looks good a mix of jetbike and combat drone Firebat - is a dissapointment vs the artwork (there is no ass!), a male pilot that look like he is cold and pulling up his blanket. I did not enjoy the visible pilot thing at all. Sry but O-12 flybot looks boring. Gopod and bot - again a visible pilot (guess we will see more) but this time with a cool look - so far I like this jetbike most. Scarface - not my char, not my TAG and the action pose "I just grab the axe for a two-handed hit" is definitve nothing what I always want to see on the table. Where the long wang is a bit too static, this one is too dynamic (yeah I know opinons, personal taste etc. - is not easy to statisfy all costomers). His sis is okay. Bipandra and Yuriko - nice new editon. I like Yuriko more, here pose is good and she looks fresh. Bipandras pose is... I don´t know, what is she doing with the hand on her face? HVT is nice! I like how CB dress the civilians (mosty female) maybe they should do fashion as second stand in business. JSA resident evil and lady snowblood set: Good design - especialy her braid. As nice as she looks, what is her purpose? She is listed as veteran, not a charcter. She is no specialst, she is good in CC (as is every second unit in shiden and her grandmother), she is a mediocre shooter (x-visor helps), she has 1,5 vita. Yeah 30 pts. For what? That she is a wildcard? There is plenty of better stuff to link up with the Tanuki. I fail to see a reason why I should pick her, other than "oh she looks nice". No special attack/defense/use/niche etc. Just an overpriced MI. Okay. Yu Jing: New Zhanying looks good, hacker change to male but overall not a necessary resculpt if you aks me. Wu Ming take a step back in design. I did not like the mask-like helmets or should that be cyperpunk faces - thats not fitting for a penal regiment, somehow they look more like MK 4 Posthumans. Sadly no reder for the Engineer. I have 3D print turrets and now they bring some metal ones ... sigh I would like to see a box togehter with Jinwei E-Mitter. Ariadna ist not my stuff. Remarkable that the sculpt of the railworker hits the artwork on point - this is very unusaualy. Bonsai Tank is cute but ... realy? I think USA should get a flyer too. Some look news from time to time? We have unmanned flying vehicels with weapons already in real life combat. So all in all nothing spectacular but this is good so maybe I managed to paint my new ISS stuff until Shenji came out (man can have hopes). Regarding new sectorial: IF they realy bring a 3rd Aleph then indeed its something unexpected. O-12 could get some new one, they are in a flow. I think we don´t need one right now. Krakot: Not a fan of the bulky backpack or to be honest not a fan of the bulky appereance at all nor the diorama like base with victim. Didn´t they say Aleph and Haq will came later? Maybe including a fluff book.
I dont see the point for the koroshi-onna. When the sectorial lists were revealed, i was expecting she to be a ninja character or some sort of impersonator... The final outcome is terribly dissapointing. Paying 4 more points i can get a Hatamoto. And shurayuki dont have purity tags, so you cant pretend to be a senku or tanuki or something when the fireteam is attacking and the oponent realizes what bonuses you are aplying
Interesting new releases - some hits, some misses for me. Great news for USARF, will be interesting to see what new bits I will add to my existing collection. Anyone know why the O-Yoroi is in for a release in May ... another model or repack ? @archon I believe Bipandra is using a wrist-strapped device such as comms or display. I was looking forward to Shurayuki, looks to be a good and I agree the ponytail on this one is a nice design. But I just wish it wasn't using the same repeated pose with sword in one and gun held up in the other (was she a Yu Jing character in her past?!). Yamabushi attempt no.3 (original still the best) has it even worse - 3x 2-handed weapons, and he's holding two of them (overkill), I expect this too be tied equal for storing and placement issues with Scarface. Krakot Renegade - sadly pointless now as I own Kendrat, since CB chose to cut her out of N5, her sweet model automatically fills this role.
She’s new. She has some lore in the new book in the JSA fluff. I think she’s very cool in concept. She has a few issues with her profile. She has some shooty tools, but relatively low BS. And a not amazing weapon. And as a CC specialist, she’s great, but she’s not super mobile and has not movement skills besides hiding in a link. And as was pointed out earlier, you can fairly easily tell that she’s in your link due to a lack of purity. I wish instead of holo mask she had mim -6 and a multi marksman. It’d be nice if she was an FO or something too. I really like her model and art though.
Love my JSA but why so many Yamabushi? This last one looks goofy with his stick and rocket. No more please. At least everything else is leagues better than those ugly kyojin that look as clumpy as 90s GW models. But my continued excitement for more new stuff is wearing a bit thin now as there seems to be a bit of a bloat of unnecessary and unwanted releases.
Two miniatures for an AVA 2 unit I guess. And as the Yamabushi is also available in KFC it seems at least one needed to be released alone. The Limited edition one doesn't count because... well... it's limited (even if this is the coolest one).
Me too. But in a blister she would be a bye because I realy see no special reason to invest 30 pts in her. What do you get: Viral CCW, Holomask ... MA4 / BS12 on slow ARM 2 plattform without any mods for gunfight ex. the X-visor (which would be great if she has MMS). Yes the sector has only two Multi Rifle choices (but has M-MMRs) and the other one has BS13 and Warhorse for 19 pts. 1. lim ed 2. regular option for FTO here a paramedic without holding a medikt 3. regular if you play Pan O or missed out the lim. ed. for full AVA (oh we have to much SKU!) Kyonjin in this unpleasant box were the biggest design fail in the history of JSA miniatures. Presenting a Beasthunter with Kitsune Mask totaly playing the JSA style while most of the Shindenbutai are not known and let everyone expect that this is would be a Kyojin ... labeling it NA2 and release two funny guys in pyjamas for the real Kyojin, providing full ava on two loadouts that easily could matched by one figure (giving that no beasthunter shows all his weaponary) while others wait for another loadout since YEARS (Liu Xing for example).
My eyes nearly fell out of their sockets when i saw that photo. I need not remember that national disgrace. Sadly, Raygun epitomises Australian culture right now.
Krakot would have been more inspired if he'd killed another Morat, as it would have reflected his renegade status and the fact that he's present in the human factions, but otherwise he's pretty cool even if he's a bit redundant with the 2/4 other renegades that most people must have.
There is currently no Krakot available, and two of the three previous versions were limited editions (I'm counting Kendrat in), so it's needed for new players. Krakot is available in MAF and CA. Having a tactical corpse from those factions would be odd I think. Other faction is Ikari, so having a Yu Jing mini as tactical corpse is somewhat "logical" (even if Ikari likes nobody xD). I don't like tactical corpse anyway.
It’s soooo boring. So static. Having a pilot is cool, but tilting it slightly, give a certain pose to the pilot. Just do something! It really gives me the same vibe as the space marines small one manned ships (can’t recall their name) from 20 years ago
Landspeeder. I never got the concept of a open topped speeder - even when the pilots wear powerarmour that will count as armor. Even more bad ist the Grey Knight walker, were the GK is fully exposed in the front (with force fields and blah but it looks so much wrong). The Nomad pilot is realativ save because its like a capsule that exposes not much from him, but in normal circumstances no company will develop a manned speeder that exposes its pilot especialy not in the dangerous atmosphere from Shindu. The visible pitlots are total wrong conceptionally. But we play a sci fi game ...
