That will be an interesting talk with Warsenal, last month they had to refund warcrow's preorders and now the "IS pack" would be incomplete... WTB it's fun how the camo KHD (with oblivion upgrade, however) is 5 points more expensive than the regular ninja. Or how irrelevant it is, since all profiles are Specialist Operative... and carry a heavy EM loadout (not even PARA, EM directly!)
That's just N5 in a nutshell right now. Give everyone the undercosted, overperforming nightmare guns to shave points and keep up with the crazy optimization arms race.
Handing out all types of E/M. He’s certainly different from another Ninja!! I'm relieved that the Koga is actually good and fairly cheap. I’m guessing they mean to say Forward Deployment. At a 6-2 move the Forward Deploy +8” is not bad. The Decoy is with or without Camo thank goodness. Parachutist is awesome. I’m already thinking the Contender is going to be great but that Pulzar is great for getting rid of a lot of cheerleaders. The KHD with upgrade Carbonite is great but just wish there was one more specialist.
They are incredible and by themselves establish a great midfield for ISS. With all the e/m N5 has handed out, maybe that is what CB is doing to counter the Alpha. Isolation will be much more common and the weaknesses of HI, TAGs, and Remotes more apparent.
And Climbing Plus. Not as good as it used to be but still nice to have. I’m pretty happy with them so far. To bad they will probably be ISS only.
Positive vibes activate!!! lol but seriously, I think they nailed it with this guy. How can we make a ninja that still feels like a ninja but gives you reasons to want to take him instead of a normal ninja and also gives the flavor of the current ISS direction too? And yeah I think this does that.
That minelayer is going to see a lot of use. CamoKoga+Decoy Camo+Camo Mine. Then take two of them lol. I'm certain this guy is a must take for a while.
I think is a matter to survival plus to make enemy to make bad choices. You can't go over there without be worried about that profile in the middle board, because you don't know which one is the real one. That makes the troupe less easy to kill. Really important going second.
At least one minelayer looks to be mandatory to future ISS listbuilding. The second AVA slot will not be a matter of whether to fill it or not, but rather what profile will be filling it. Now, we've yet to see anything that really does much to establish ISS' old fantasy of extreme door-kicking and breach-and-clear style operations. I hope that some of that ends up being maintained. I don't like the new aesthetic direction, but I'd at least like to use my old models still.
If going first they can make the opponent deploy differently but so far, the times I’ve had Kanren, I’ve gone first, and it kind of sucked to no longer have the decoys after moving like you could with holoprojector. Sure, they have Mim -6 now but that hasn’t been useful yet. I don’t know what they were thinking when the revised them. Lost: Holoprojector/Holomask Courage -3 CC Monofilament CCW Combi Rifle on hackers Gained: +1 BS Mim -6 Decoy (2) SMG +1 B on boarding shotguns only I feel they lost more than gained. Decoy and Mim -6 doesn’t make up for having Holoprojectors. There’s a lot more MSV than there used to be so the Mim -6 is good but not great. Also they are almost always already in the enemy +3 range. Now that we see the Koga, and how good they are in comparison, I’m probably not going to be using Kanren at all anymore. The Koga is not that much more and brings much more ability. Better CC, better weapons, better movement, all specialists. To me the door kickers are the Wu Ming.
He has mime-6 now. Thats sounds very good to me. I never get warm with the holo. Camo and Decoy is much better but for the price I think Kanren is workable. But I did not play ISS in N5 until I have the new stuff in Army. Even Pan O has them. To be honest. Some list looks like Aleph with some Yu Jing sprinkels. I think its understandable, that the Garuda was replaced. If you like to prox it - yeah Garuda as one of the rare REM AD troops will do it. I am a bit sad about the Sopho - I kinda like her in ISS. I do not remember playing more than one Deva in ISS - but Daikinis. While its good. I would still go for the Wu Ming for the HMG job. X-V is not so much needed on HMG as on the Spitfire. Marksmanship Tsyklon from Nomads are still a great tool. Yeah and new Electro-Ninja looks very nice! Three camotoken with the the ML option. All are specialist and a Pita for HI. Even the parachuters seem intresting.
I just realized the Parachutist will not get Surprise Attack unless he shoots right from Decoy state, when they first come on the board. Could happen but unlikely. But the EMC could cause a lot of trouble if he gets behind anything. So, we still have Jinwei, Shenji, Dragon Lord and Vanguard. I think Jinwei might be the “Shang Ji” of ISS. Meaning they are HI that can join the Celestial Guard like SJ can with Zhanshi. But being able to count as CG is a pretty big thing. Shenji, by the troop list, are either the first Warband, or a Support troop. I think Support. They have a symbol that looks very electronic. I’m hoping they are like Dartok or Kyosho. Being dedicated hackers. Vanguard, I think are going to have an Engineer. The ISS equivalent to MechEngineer and Yisheng. Maybe deployable turrets?
Amazing how they give ISS a cracked profile and you are still whining about how the hacker is "irrelevant" (now that's certainly an opinion)
Main question to all of this profiles, if they would not be "fixed" after release. New ninja is what I like for now.
I think what they’re saying is that they like the new ninja and wonder if the other profiles will be made better later. That’s what I got out of it anyway.
