The Combined Army god in flesh is no more, unless... That's what you call a "nerfed to hell". Cost reduced by 17(?) and lost 2 orders. I believe it's unplayable at this point. What are your thoughts?
Paying for its sins in N4. Seems to be a lot of balancing by feel in N5. Still might be better than N4. Not as good as N3 though.
I think it should get either Lt+1 Order or Tactical Awareness back, but I wouldn't discount the usefulness of having additional Command Token. They're useful resources, we have to play some N5 games to properly judge the change
Sure, because the only thing the Avatar is bringing to the table is two orders. And there is no way to get super cheap orders in vCA... :p
Im n4 it was very expens and very valuable. Not its still very expensive. If you don't get behind the Idea that a 2order Avatar at 120p is much less valuable than q 126p Avatar with 4 orders....
I'm on board with the sad avatar train, however with speedball it can have effectively STR4 and there's a lot-lot less times it'll get oneshot by a B2 missile from fireteam, so it's probably not as bad as it seems.
We know that an order costs 4 pts, so technically he's 2 pts more expensive, but in target-richer enviroment. Let's run some games and see.
No TAG with mimetism -6 or HRMC has tactical awareness in this edition, (except sphinx, but eh), its not only the Avatar that got rebalanced.
Except Avatar N5 was facing very powerful fireteams, that are now mostly gone. It's pointless to just compare cost and stats without even considering that this is N5 now and that a lot will change. You can still have your 15 minis Avatar list, meaning more than enough orders to fuel what remains the single most powerful piece in the game.
Agree with the "Avatar's still fine" team. Avvie was fine back in N3 before she got tactical awareness and LT+1, she's still fine now. Infinity is a game where you power your big badass killers with small mooks, n4 just spoiled us a bit.
Also: worth noting that tactical orders are now counted against the 10 order cap that prevents your opponents removing orders from your pool when you go first. If the Avatar had tacaware, you'd actually end up with less orders in the first turn in your standard 10-order list
