Actually, they are now less vulnerable to Breaker, Nanopulsers, and Pulzars. Before they had BTS 0, so all of those weapons were hitting at full strength. Now with BTS 3 the damage roll will be lower. Even Breaker with AP still won't hit as hard. The actual big difference is their newfound vulnerability to Stun, E/M, and Para weaponry. The only Varangian profile that went up is the Chain Rifle one, which went from 9 to 10 points but picked up regular Grenades. The rest stayed the same price. No idea why Wallace went up 3 points, but maybe it's because he's an LT option for Kosmo now? I got nothing.
They had BTS 0, but because they had total inmunity, they were saving that impacts with ARM 4, not BTS 0 Wallace always has been LT in Kosmo. I dont know why that point increase. Maybe the CC Attack -3
Immunity (Total) never worked that way in N4: N4 Immunity (Total): the Trooper is immune to any Ammunition, cancelling its Special Effects and Traits, considering it Normal Ammunition. The Trooper is completely immune to Traits that cause States, refer to causing Damage, or reduce the Attributes of the target. For example State: Dead, Continuous Damage, or ARM=0. The Trooper is completely immune to Weapons or Ammunitions with the Non-Lethal Trait, not suffering their effects, and not requiring a Saving Roll or Guts Roll. (See FAQs & Errata. For Plasma, Sepsitor.) So BTS weapons hit on the BTS of zero.
Wally went up 4 points. Nit-picky, but hey, the faction got gutted. The berserk nerf was terrible for him especially. Just like NBW, there were an increasing amount of problematic troopers that really should not have had it, but it was an important and characterful tool that is now functionally pointless. Tossed out the bathwater and then viciously beat the baby to death. It's also extremely frustrating that CB made a big deal about vanilla factions being cleaned up to create a more curated and self contained faction, and then we get crap like Wally being just an empty trooper slot because we can't actually use his most expensive ability. It's all so frustrating, because it not only feels excessive to the point of malice, but aimless. I want to understand the vision here.
Personally I'm pretty happy about Dogs eating the nerf; the Bear should have never been so dominant in internal or external balance and all the units built around fighting Dog Warriors by fluff didn't work in N4 without Viral, but there's sadly not enough to compensate elsewhere for this shortfall.
Bears definitely needed a nerf, they were pretty gross. In an isolated case, I think they overadjusted on the bears. While still usable, they didn't deserve quite as bad as they got. But in the greater scope of things, they then over-adjusted on the entire faction. And hard. Ariadna already wasn't a particularly healthy faction, having to rely hard on overtuned stuff like the bears (and UKR) to get the job done. With those nerfs in place, the Ariadnan umbrella wasn't looking so good, but then they go and take the nerf bat to the rest of the Ariadnan catalogue, too. They were even nerfing bad troopers. They took the batt to freaking Moblots of all things. I can point to so many profiles that just got so nonsensically battered. And it's frustrating, because I look at most of the other factions in the game, and they're gaining so much.
The way I understand it - the bracketed bonus only applies to the profile of the model, not to the TAGCom skill. So the Gator doesn't get any CC bonus, but Gator's "pilot" has 22 CC. Shame, really - I'd love to have a KHD Szally)
Pilot doesn't grant the Gator shit outside the vanilla Dodge and Gizmokit bonuses, the "pilot" himself gets the +9CC, there is not TagCom label with the +9CC modifier Edit: Nm, replies weren't showing

I can't get the reasoning behind Ariadna changes, it's not like it was the best faction in N4. Nerf to smoke granade, why?, hit Ariadna WB a well.
For the Smokes, probably wanted to hit another Grenade statline (probably Eclipse) and wanted to be consistent. Could have done with pushing ignores Smoke up to MSV2 again, given there's no way to get Smoke on better than flats now.
Wanna see a fun profile? There is a 12-points Keisotsu with a Thunderbolt and BS Attack (-3)... They are now BSm it's actually a decent and cheap backup shooter with link bonus, at 0SWC.

N5 according to pre-release claims was supposed to integrate them in the main ruleset. So I'm wondering, are we missing a pdf, did they decide to release them later, what is going on...
Oh I missed that. They are still in their own PDF dated to 2023. Maybe they will update the rulebook later because there is a lot of Spanish vocabulary in the rulebook and it needs some more clean up, but as it is free, no complaints from me.
